Alice L. Klauz
(May 21, 1925 - October 25, 2014)

Alice L. Klauz, 89, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Mt. Carmel Home Keens Memorial in Kearney.

She was born May 21, 1925, in Shelton, Nebraska, to Walter and Hazel (Russell) Meusch. She lived in Shelton until the 8th grade, when her family moved to Lexington. Alice was a 1942 graduate of Lexington High School.

Alice was united in marriage to Joseph G. Klauz on May 24, 1943, in Lexington. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Bob, Betty, Rick and Merry.

Always busy, Alice cared for the elderly and needy and cleaned houses for various residents. She worked at the Hollingsworth Motel in Lexington, Plectron Corporation in Overton for 18 years, Daylight Donuts and Karre City Bakery.

Alice enjoyed people and loved spending time with the children when they were small by helping with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and being a member of the PTA. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Nebraska Women’s Bowling Association for 22 years, Penny Pinchers Extension Club for over 50 years, and a monthly card club.

She shared her talent with others by teaching crocheting for the Community College in Overton and Sumner, and taking on students with private lessons. She also enjoyed quilting, reading and country music concerts.

Alice will always be remembered for her kind ways, her infectious smile and her love for her family.

Survivors include two sons; Bob Klauz of Kearney, Nebraska; and, Rick Klauz and Linda Guill of Lexington, Nebraska; one daughter, Merry and husband Larry Johnson of Grand Island, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; Daniel and wife Stephanie Jensen of Omaha, Nebraska; Derek and wife Michelle Mullin of Kearney, Nebraska; Nicole and husband Jim Peterson of Axtell, Nebraska; Angela Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; Steven Johnson of Simi Valley, California; Kristin and husband Matt Boucher of Murdock, Nebraska; Russ and wife Lisa Guill of Lincoln, Nebraska; ten great-grandchildren; Lexi Klauz-Rohde, Austin Boucher, Jakob Boucher, Sarah Jensen, Karson Peterson, Keegan Peterson, Lorien Guill, Lorelei Guill, Brody & Bentley Mullin; brother, Richard Meusch of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and sister, Thelma Dodson of Corpus Christi, Texas; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph on December 21, 1967; daughter, Betty Jensen on June 9, 2011; grandson, Ryan Guill on April 17, 2006; two brothers, Oliver and Leonard Meusch; and one sister, Georgia Gillette.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 31, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Neal Nollette celebrating.

Burial will be in St. Ann’s Catholic cemetery at Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mia Jane Larson
(May 1, 2013 - October 23, 2014)

Mia Jane Larson, 17 months, of rural Lexington, Nebraska, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 23, 2014, with her family by her side, at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mia was born May 1, 2013, at Lexington, Nebraska, to Parker Bo and Heather Dawn (Alexander) Larson.

Mia loved waving at her family and friends, saying “no”, giving kisses and sharing many smiles. She was with us for a short time, but her memory will last a lifetime.

Mia is survived by her parents; Parker and Heather of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother, Ty Larson of Lexington, Nebraska; maternal grandparents; Jane Donadio and Tom Spiker of Holdrege, Nebraska; paternal grandparents; Tom and Deaetta Larson of Overton, Nebraska; maternal grandfathers; Tom Spiker of Holdrege, Nebraska; and, Bill Kirkland of Kearney, Nebraska; great-grandmothers; Jean Larson of Lexington, Nebraska; Norma Eby of Overton, Nebraska and Dot Barber of Bertrand, Nebraska; great-great-grandma, Helen Pinner of Holdrege, Nebraska; aunts; Tara Packer of St. Joseph, Missouri; Candice Spiker of Holdrege, Nebraska; uncle, Michael Spiker of Holdrege, Nebraska and cousin, Alexis Packer of St. Joseph, Missouri; as well as many other relatives, caretakers and friends.

Mia was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dennis Wheeler officiating.

Burial will be held in the Overton cemetery following lunch at the church.

Visitation will be Monday, October 27, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are designated to the family please, for later designation.

Barbara Jean "Barbie" Wolfe
(June 16, 1963 - October 13, 2014)

Barbara Jean “Barbie” Wolfe, of rural Cozad, Midway Lake, Nebraska, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 16, 1963, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Ronald Dean and Evelyn (Bennett) Harvey.

She attended school and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the Class of 1981. After high school she married Tom Wolfe on May 23, 1981, in Gothenburg at the Evangelical Free Church. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Amber and Derek.

During Barbie’s working years she worked at Margie’s Day Care. The family moved to North Loup for two years where she worked at the Popcorn factory. The family then moved to Cozad where she started working at CO-OP Fertilizer as a secretary for 8 years.

She then managed the Cozad Medical Clinic, worked at the Wellness Center where she taught the Silver Sneaker’s Exercise Group where she made lifelong friends. She also cleaned houses.

Barbie was attending Nursing School when her health took a turn for the worst and she had to stop her schooling.

Barbie loved snow skiing, 4-wheeling, cruising around on her Moped, and riding motorcycles. She also loved hunting with her dad. She was a Motocross mom and loved following her kids to their competitions. She also loved shopping, traveling to the Junk Jaunts and garage sales. Her special talent was helping people, being with her family and her grandchildren. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband; Tom of Midway Lake; son, Derek and wife Brooke Wolfe of Cozad, Nebraska; daughter, Amber and husband Bill Montoya of Cozad, Nebraska; sister by love, Vicky and husband Rick Foote of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren; Zeth, Arianna, Roklyn, and Kori. Three uncles; George and wife Peggy Harvey of Columbus, Nebraska; Don and wife Deb Harvey of Gothenburg, Nebraska; and, Jim Harvey of Gothenburg, Nebraska; two aunts, Dorothy Andrews of Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sharon and husband Fred Engberg of Joplin, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Millie and husband Rob Speck of Omaha, Nebraska, George and wife Annette Wolfe of Seward, Nebraska, Susan Anderson of Eddyville, Nebraska, Greg and wife Deanna Wolfe of Eddyville, Nebraska and Kristy Wolfe of Lexington, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and, special friends from Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Barbie was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Beverly Earl and Rosie Rhinehart; and, great-aunt, Katherine Bennett.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Gothenburg, Nebraska with Pastor Larry Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in the Gothenburg cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to ALS in the Heartland.

Helen F. "Red" Yeutter
(October 1, 1927 - September 30, 2014)

Helen F. “Red” Yeutter, 86, of Elwood, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at Elwood Care Center in Elwood, Nebraska.

Helen was born October 1, 1927, in Red Cloud, Nebraska to John and Ethel (Houchin) Wickersham. She moved with her family as a young girl to Cozad, Nebraska and this is where she attended school. She dropped out of school at a young age to help her father with the farming and putting up hay. She worked in the beet fields before she was married . On July 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Dale Yeutter, at Norton, Kansas. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Ed and Linda.

Helen had so many loves and the most important was her family. She was always a hard worker, having worked weighing trucks for Terry Crawford and other farm related jobs. She worked ten years for Sperry New Holland, a job she considered her favorite. She also drove school bus for the Lexington Public Schools, and farmed with Dale.

She enjoyed coffee with friends and socializing with neighbors. Christmas was her favorite time of year! She enjoyed the holidays as it brought family and friends together at this special time. Helen loved all sports, she especially enjoyed her bowling league gals and the camaraderie they shared, putting together puzzles, and being outdoors. She was a “caretaker” in every sense of the word and made everyone feel important and comfortable. Helen you will be missed.

Helen was a member of First Christian Church in Lexington and spent many years on the school board at District #15.

Helen is survived by her two children; Ed and wife Diane Yeutter of Lexington, Nebraska; and, Linda and husband Bill Shotkoski of Lexington, Nebraska; three grandchildren; Melissa and husband Adam Tufford of Lexington, Nebraska; Ryan and wife Clarice Shotkoski of Maysville, Georgia; and, Taylor Shotkoski and fiancé R.J. Seberger of Lexington, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren; Cooper Ann Shotkoski, Annabella Tufford, Parker Tufford and Liam Shotkoski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale in 2007; three brothers; Clifford, Ed “Butch” and half-brother, Anthony Wickersham; three sisters, Euva Anthony, Lucille Stauffer, and Darlene Yeutter; and great-granddaughter, Lily Tufford.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor William Ohlmann officiating.

Burial will be in the Robb cemetery south of Lexington.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Care Center.

Gricelda Garcia
(April 29, 1959 - September 28, 2014)

Gricelda Garcia, 55, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, September 28, 2014, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born April 29, 1959, in San Calletano, Gto, Mexico, to Cirilo & Maria Lucia (Alcantar) Garcia.

Gricelda was united in marriage to Jose Garcia in Mexico. Two daughters were blessed to this union: Gricell & Maria. Her family moved from Mexico to Lexington in 2009.

She was very talented at crocheting many things. Gricelda enjoyed cooking, flowers and watching her favorite soap operas. She was a faithful member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband Jose Garcia of Lexington, Nebraska; two daughters, Gricell Garcia & Maria Garcia of Lexington, Nebraska; Godson, Josh Chavez of Lexington, Nebraska; two brothers, Juan and wife Socorro Alacantar of Mexico & Pedro and wife Trinidad Alcantar of Georgia; one sister, Luisa Alcantar of Mexico; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Reverend Jorge Canela celebrating.

Visitation will be today, September 30 from 2-5 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Robert D. Bamrick
(April 8, 1928 - October 26, 2014)

Robert D. Bamrick, 86, of Overton, Nebraska, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Cozad, Nebraska.

He was born April 8, 1928, in Elm Creek, Nebraska, to Edward F. and Louise M. (Streit) Bamrick. Bob grew up in Overton where he attended school. He was united in marriage to Clarice Eby on October 15, 1949, in Kearney, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Rodney D., Karen M., and Robert L.

Bob farmed his entire life and worked at the Hay Mill. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton, was a former member of the Overton Board of Education and Community Center Board member.

His hobbies included; farming, playing cards, he especially enjoyed playing pitch, and going to the childrens’ and grandchildrens’ sporting activities. Bob was a kind man with a huge heart and will always be remembered fondly.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Clarice Bamrick, now living at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington; one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Nancy Bamrick of Overton, Nebraska; son-in-law, Lee Shafer of Overton, Nebraska; six grandchildren; Niki and husband Eric Altwine of Bertrand, Nebraska; Kody and wife Jenny Shafer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brady Shafer of Denver, Colorado; Colt and wife Katie Shafer of Grand Island, Nebraska; Chris and wife Gwen Christner of Kearney, Nebraska; and, Justin and wife Kari Christner of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ten great-grandchildren; Bayley Bamrick, Kaden & Claire Shafer, Beckham Shafer, Dylan White, Allie & Jessie Altwine, and Austin, Brant & Jenna Christner; as well as extended family and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Bamrick; daughter, Karen Shafer; four sisters, Ruby, Nell, Edith and Marge; two brothers, Ed & Jim Bamrick; grandson, Patrick Bamrick; daughter-in-law, Diane (Nelson) Bamrick; five brothers-in-law, Gaylord, Floyd, Lonnie, Don & Dick Eby; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Eby.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton, Nebraska with Reverend Alex Borzych celebrating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Burial will be in the Overton cemetery at Overton.

Lillias Jane Davenport
(October 9, 1933 - October 13, 2014)

Lillias J. Davenport, 81, of Overton, Nebraska, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Lillias was born October 9, 1933, to Adolf and Lenora (Ahrens) Gehle, near Deshler, Nebraska. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1947, and graduated from Chester High School with the class of 1951.

Lillias worked as a bookkeeper at Foote Oil Company in Chester and this is where she met her future husband, Bob. The couple married July 16, 1952, in Stoddard, Nebraska. They moved to Overton in February of 1957, to start Foote Oil Company. The couple was blessed with three children; Danny Lee, Konnie Kay and Tammy Jane.

Always active, Lillias did the books for Foote Oil Company, Bob Creighton Insurance, and then Muirhead Insurance.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Overton. Lillias enjoyed golfing, sewing, being outdoors in the yard, tending a big garden and being with her family, especially the great-grandchildren.

Lillias is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob of Overton, Nebraska; two daughters, Konnie and husband Kevin Turner of Overton, Nebraska; and, Tammy and husband Bruce Blankenship of Kearney, Nebraska; granddaughter, Emmy Raastad of Overton, Nebraska; grandsons, Tucker Turner and Brett Blankenship of Omaha, Nebraska; and Brock and wife Chloe Blankenship of Kearney, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Kaven and Jorja Raastad of Overton, Nebraska; two brothers, Jim and wife Connie Gehle of Byron, Nebraska, Delaine Gehle of Centerville, South Dakota; two sisters, Verleen Vorderstrasse of Chester, Nebraska; and, Shirley and husband Karis Kuhlman of Chester, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Danny; and, sister, Larriet.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Overton with Reverend Dennis Wheeler officiating.

Burial will be in the Overton cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Overton or the Overton Volunteer Fire Department.

Richard D. "Rick" Stolp
(April 13, 1954 - September 28, 2014)

Richard D. “Rick” Stolp, 60, of Overton, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, at his home in Overton.

He was born April 13, 1954, in Woodland, California to Donald Dean and Joan (Morrow) Stolp. He attended school in California and this is where he graduated from Davis High School. He followed his dad to Nebraska. He also lived in Oregon for a short time. When he returned to Nebraska he lived in Elm Creek and the past ten years in Overton with his sweetheart, Barb.

Rick had many interests as he was a very interesting guy. He loved music and singing karaoke. He was an artist and always very creative. Rick loved playing Texas Holdem, cribbage, cards, watching wheel-of-fortune, playing pool and being outdoors.

He could do almost anything with his hands. He roofed houses, hung sheetrock, worked for the railroad, was really a jack of all trades. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile that could light up the room. He will be very missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Garland of Gardenville, California; fiancee’ Barb Holen of Overton, Nebraska; daughters; Jennifer Stolp of Kearney, Nebraska; Lindsey Kallhoff of Wayne, Nebraska; Terra and husband Rodney Schuller of Ravenna, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; Justiney Larson, Trinity Schuller, Casey Schuller, Rodney Schullar, Jr., Wesley Schuller, Kiley Timmerman and Alyssa Timmerman; and, one on the way; three brothers; Dave and wife Lori Stolp of Elm Creek, Nebraska; Larry and wife Nivia Morrow of Rohnert Park, California; and, Mike Stolp of Nappa, California; first wife, Tamra and husband Carl Larson of Ravenna, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.

The family has honored Rick’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elm Creek City Park in Elm Creek, Nebraska with Pastor Will Thompson officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
