Harold Junior Willis
(July 20, 1943 - September 26, 2014)

Harold Junior Willis, 71 of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at Callaway District Hospital.

Junior was born July 20, 1943, in Lexington, NE to Harold and Margaret (Klein) Willis. He grew up near Merna, NE until 1959, when the family moved to his lifelong home – the ranch north of Callaway. In 1960, he began his farming and ranching career with his father. The partnership would later become Willis Land and Cattle. After the move, Junior began attending Callaway High School. It was there he met the love of his life, Nancy Cantrell. Junior and Nancy graduated together in 1961, and later married on October 6, 1962.

Junior’s life was full of the things he loved; the land, cattle, horses, his family and friends. Junior and Nancy sponsored multiple foreign exchange students through the years and maintained very special relationships with some of them up until his death. His heart was full of love and generosity. Junior loved to travel and was a voracious reader throughout his life. He enjoyed watching rodeo and Husker sports. His kind and gentle nature touched the lives of many and he would always go out of his way to help others.

Junior was a long time member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and served on the Church Board. He also served on the Callaway School Board for 16 years and was one of the original founding members of the Seven Valley’s Rodeo Association and continued that membership for over 43 years.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 52 years, Nancy; one son and one daughter, Jeff of Callaway, NE and Julie (Gene) Ross of Fremont, NE; 4 grandchildren, Hunter and Ellana Willis of Callaway and Jacob and Jackson Ross of Fremont; mother-in-law, Lucille Cantrell of Callaway; sister, Joan (James) Downey of Merna, NE; brother, Burton (Carol) Willis of Callaway; 5 nephews and 3 nieces.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; and, father-in-law, Marion Cantrell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway with Reverends Thomas Gudipalli and James Novakowski concelebrating.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill cemetery at Callaway.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Memorials are suggested to Nigel Sprouse Memorial Library, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Callaway District Hospital, or Callaway Rural Fire Department.

Robert L. "Pop Squat" Conz
(July 24, 1929 - October 28, 2013)

Bob “Pop Squat” Conz, 84, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Lexington Regional Health Center.

He was born July 24, 1929, in Maitland, Missouri, to George Albert and Bertha l. (Fishback) Conz. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Maitland High School and went onto further his education at Midwestern School of Evangelism in Ottuma, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Lucile May Strever on October 24, 1952.

Bob and Lucile moved to Lexington in 1952. Bob worked as a farmhand for Don Knauss and Chris Lauby. He also worked at Safeway in Cozad and Plectron in Overton. Prior to retiring he spent 11 years in maintenance at the Dawson County Courthouse.

He was a member of LexChristian Church where he was active in the church choir. He was the past president of the All American C.B. Club. Bob collected coins, antique dishes such as Milk Glass, and Ruby Red and Orange Carnival Glass.

Survivors include his children; Robert Mark Conz of Ogallala, Nebraska; Larry (Bernice) Conz of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Debra (James) Pray of Butler, Missouri; and, Cindy Conz of Lawrence, Kansas; one brother, George Conz of Iowa; one sister, Fay Smith of Maitland, Missouri; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucile; two brothers, Fred and Floyd; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home.

It was Bob’s wishes his body be cremated following the funeral service.

A Memorial has been established.

Edward Dean "Fast Eddie" Sarr
(June 16, 1940 - October 19, 2013)

Edward Dean “Fast Eddie” Sarr, 73, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his home in Elwood with his family by his side.

He was born June 16, 1940, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Ray and Ola (Wilson) Sarr. Ed moved as a boy to Chicago, Illinois with his family. He worked in the steel mills in Chicago as a Hammer Repairman.

Ed was united in marriage to Sharon Giboney on April 4, 1958, in Lexington. Four children were born to this union, Ed Jr., Tammy, Kim and Shannon. Sharon preceded him in death in 2000. He then married Peggy Flint on February 14, 2007, in Kearney, Nebraska. He welcomed Peggy’s children, Randy, Keith, Teri, Bobbie Jo, and Linda into the family.

Ed traveled quite a little after Sharon passed away staying with relatives until he met Peggy on one of his trips home. The couple enjoyed going on gambling trips and being with family. Ed loved being with, and talking about, his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being near the water and swimming, stock car races, high school sporting events and telling tall tales! He had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun. Ed will be so very missed by his large, loving family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; Peggy Sarr of Elwood, Nebraska; son, Ed, Jr. and wife Michelle Sarr of Huntington Beach, California; three daughters, Tammy and husband John Woloshun of Placentia, California, Kim and husband Steve Lopez of Surprise, Arizona; and, Shannon Sarr of Kearney, Nebraska; two stepsons, Randy and wife Mick Nichols and Keith and wife Michelle Nichols all of Elm Creek, Nebraska; three stepdaughters, Teri and husband Chuck Martin of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Bobbie Jo and husband Bob Barto of Elm Creek, Nebraska, and, Linda and husband James Marshall of Elm Creek, Nebraska; one brother, Donald George Sarr of Elwood, Nebraska; three sisters; Donna and husband Willie Satterthwaite of Chicago, Illinois; Sue and husband Marvin Brand of Elwood, Nebraska; and, Geraldine and husband Mel Noble of Elwood, Nebraska; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; six brothers; one sister, and one grandson, Jason.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Michael Wolff officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Sarr Family for later designation.

The family has honored Ed’s wishes that his body be cremated following the funeral service.

Wilma V. Boyd
(April 20, 1928 - October 15, 2013)

Wilma V. Boyd, 85, of Casper, Wyoming, former Lexington/Kearney, Nebraska resident, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

She was born April 20, 1928, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Charles Logan and Anna Rita (Johnson) Shuler. Wilma was a graduate of Cozad High School and furthered her education at Kearney State Teacher’s College.

Wilma was united in marriage to James E. Boyd on May 24, 1950, in Alda, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with three children; James Lee, John Eugene and Carolyn Jean. The couple made their home in Lexington where Jim owned and operated Coldwell Banker. In 1996, Wilma moved to Kearney and in 2012, moved to Casper.

Wilma was a member of the First Christian Church in Lexington and Countryside Christian Church in Kearney. She was always active in her church where she served as Sunday school teacher and the Women’s Council. She was a past member of Spring Creek Extension Club, Golden Hours Club, a lifetime member of the Morton PTA and a Red Cross Volunteer.

Wilma had a heart of gold and always had a smile on her face and a warm welcome for all she came in contact with. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be forever cherished.

Survivors include two sons; James Lee and wife Mary Boyd of Keensburg, Colorado; John Eugene and wife Carrie Boyd of Stilwell, Kansas; daughter, Carolyn Jean “Jeannie” Boyd of Casper, Wyoming; three grandchildren; Kristina Lynn and husband Chad Weaver of Stilwell, Kansas; Jesse Lee and wife Angela Boyd of Greeley, Colorado; Jennifer Lauritzen of Sacramento, California; two great-granddaughters, Hadleigh Lynn Weaver of Stilwell, Kansas, and Abigale Lee Boyd of Greeley, Colorado; one sister, Leona Johnson of San Jose, California; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James “Jim” Boyd in 1991; brother, Neal Shuler; sister-in-law, Ruth Shuler and brother-in-law, Frank Boyd.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor Chad Laughrey officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery at Lexington.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to LexChristian Church in Lexington, Countryside Christian Church in Kearney or Alzheimer’s Association.

Darold Dean Hibbs
(February 2, 1947 - October 15, 2013)

Darold D. Hibbs, age 66, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at his home in Lincoln following a battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

He was born on February 2, 1947, to Oren Dean and Helen Louise (Binning) Hibbs, in Lexington, Nebraska. He was a 1965 graduate of Lexington High School.

Darold served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 as a gunner in a heavy artillery battery. He also served in the Army Reserve as a chaplain’s assistant while attending and eventually graduating from Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. He married Eunice Schutz on November 18, 1989, in Kearney, Nebraska.

When younger, Darold worked at a variety of jobs to include carpentry work at Back to the Bible and at Child Evangelism Fellowship headquarters in Switzerland. He volunteered for Campus Crusade for Christ and the Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy in Hawaii.

Darold enjoyed restoring antique cars, hot rod shows and plein air painting.

After employment as a graphic artist at Morris Press in Kearney, Nebraska, he moved with his new bride to Lincoln working in the maintenance department of Gold’s Galleria for almost 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Hibbs of Lincoln; their daughter Phoebe Noel Hibbs of Lincoln who was adopted from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China; sister, Nancy Filkin and husband Robert of Columbus, Nebraska; brother Dwayne Hibbs and wife Jill of Kearney, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral Services will be Monday, October 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Berean Bible Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in the Greenwood cemetery at Lexington.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the ALS Association.

Bonnie R. Tomasek
(December 5, 1934 - October 14, 2013)

Bonnie R.Tomasek, 78, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center.

Bonnie was born December 5, 1934, in Lexington, Nebraska, to William George and Minnie Orlena (Speak) Fellers, Sr. She attended elementary school at rural District #7 and then high school at Lexington High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to Don Tomasek on January 9, 1951, in Lexington at the United Methodist Church. The marriage was blessed with three children; Steve, Susan and David.

Although Bonnie’s family was her greatest joy, she did work outside of the home selling Amway, cleaning District #22 rural school, and was custodian at the United Methodist Church for 18 years. Bonnie was one of the first Hospice volunteers in Lexington back in the early 1980’s. She loved playing bridge, shopping, having coffee with friends and keeping a beautiful home. Bonnie had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor which sustained her and her family up until the end of her life. She will never be forgotten.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don of Lexington; two sons; Steve (Pam) Tomasek of Lexington, Nebraska and David Tomasek of Lexington, Nebraska; one daughter; Susan Dannehl of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother; Ted (Candy) Fellers of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister, Kay (Don) White of Gravois Mills, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Bev Fellers of Lexington, Nebraska; five grandchildren; Ty (Becky) Tomasek of Phoenix, Arizona; Tara Tomasek and special friend, Dustin Young of Lexington, Nebraska; Jud Dannehl of Omaha, Nebraska; Jessica (Steve) Bazis of Omaha, Nebraska; and, Kevin (Abby) Dannehl of Omaha, Nebraska; four great-grandsons; Anthony and Benjamin Rodriguez of Lexington, Nebraska; and, Maxwell and Miles Tomasek of Phoeniz, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family wishes to include the nursing staff, cooking staff, John Ford, M.D., and staff of Lexington Regional Health Center as part of their family and wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You for her excellent care.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Hock and Betty Stuckey; and two brothers, Bill and Bobby Fellers.

Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dr. Dyton Owen officiating.

Burial will be held prior at 9:30 a.m. in the Greenwood cemetery at Lexington.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department, Lexington Community Foundation, or the Donor’s Choice.

Gladys Marie Tool
(January 12, 1931 - October 1, 2013)

Gladys M. Tool, 82, of Minden, Nebraska, former Lexington resident, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Bethany Home in Minden.

She was born January 12, 1931, in Lexington, Nebraska to Arthur and Hannah (Christensen) Rasmussen. Gladys attended school at Lexington. She was united in marriage to Melvin D. Tool on September 8, 1947, in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Sharon, Barbara, Douglas and Scott.

Gladys lived in Lexington her entire life until moving to Bethany Home in Minden because of her health. During her working years Gladys ran the Sale Barn Café for years, worked for J.M. McDonalds until they closed and then worked for Moseley's IGA.

Gladys was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, quilting, having coffee with friends and spending time with family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be so very missed.

Survivors include her children; Sharon (Mark) Brandt of Ravensdale, Washington; Barbara Tool of Stapleton, Nebraska; Douglas (Tamara) Tool of Plano, Texas; and, Scott (Ladonna) Tool of Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren; Darin Brandt of Santa Rosa, California; Eric (Tiffany) Brandt of Seattle, Washington; Alan Tool of Lincoln, Nebraska; Andrew Tool of Lincoln, Nebraska; Nicholas Tool of Plano, Texas; and, Ellie Tool of Plano, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Brandt of Seattle, Washington; Three sisters; June Haynes of Fremont, Nebraska; Doris Furby of Amherst, Nebraska, and, Mary Hall of Kearney, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; three sisters, Nellie, Esther, and Ruby; one brother, Gerald; and, three infant siblings.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 4, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dr. Dyton Owen officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery at Lexington, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Ramona Grace Schievelbein
(December 6, 1942 - September 29, 2013)

Ramona Grace Schievelbein, 70, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, September 29, 2013.

Ramona was born December 6, 1942, in Palisade, Nebraska, to Vernon and Grace (Nutt) Shepherd. She was a 1960 graduate of Stockville High School in Stockville, Nebraska. She was married to Lyle Schievelbein on October 1, 1961, in Stockville. Four sons were blessed to this marriage; Michael Ray, Ronald Dean, Mark Alan, and Eric Lynn.

Following the couple’s marriage they lived in Albion, Nebraska, Nevada, California, Arkansas, Lebanon, Kansas and then settled in Elwood, Nebraska. They were the proud owners of Wendland Construction from 1972 until 1986. Lyle and Ramona were always active in their community and church. In 1986, Ramona went to work for Walmart, working as a department supervisor until retiring in 2007.

Ramona was the District Commissioner of Cub-Scouting of Tri-Trails Council where she was awarded the Silver Beaver for her service to the Council. She was very involved in Geneology and Native American Artwork. Family was the mainstay of her life and so enjoyed time spent with her sons and grandchildren. Ramona will be very missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her mother; Grace Nutt Shepherd Godfrey of Elwood, Nebraska; two sons; Michael Ray (Leisa) Schievelbein of Arvada, Colorado; Ronald Dean (Deceased-Fort McPherson National cemetery); Mark Alan (Deceased-Immanuel Lutheran cemetery); Eric Lynn (Michelle) Schievelbein of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings; Darlene (Shepherd) and Ray Pierson of North Platte, Nebraska; Alice (Shepherd) and Joe Herrick of Cozad, Nebraska; Norma (Shepherd) and David Greeley of Hershey, Nebraska; twin brothers, Duane (Brenda) Shepherd of Brady, Nebraska; and, Wayne (Carol) Shepherd of North Platte, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren, Tyler Patrick Wilson, Anthony Dean Schievelbein, Natalie Anne Schievelbein, Tiffany Waller, Ricky Dewey, Ashley Marie Schievelbein, Alex James Schievelbein, Hannah Grace Schievelbein, Joshua David Schievelbein, Quinton Milo Schievelbein, and Moorea Cecile Schievelbein; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ramona was preceded in death by her father; husband, Lyle in 2003; and sons, Ronald in 1988, and Mark in 2012.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Elwood, Nebraska with Pastor Mary Fuller and Evangelist Mike Millican co-officiating.

Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery south of Elwood.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. All floral gifts will be donated to the Elwood Care Center for their enjoyment.
