Born to Roy and Grace (Simpson) on December 5, 1919 in Zoarville, Ohio.
Worked as a painter & stencil cutter of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad.

The oldest of 6 children. passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2005. Lived in Ohio and graduated from high school. He worked for B&O; railroad before moving to Nebraska and joining the “Burlington Route”. He married Irene in 1946. They had one son, Gregg. Howard joined Toastmasters and then Boy Scouts. He spent 25 years serving in many capacities. He especially enjoyed the years spent as Scout Master Troop 75. He earned many awards, among them the Silver Beaver, Wood Badge, Beads, District Award of Merit, Arrowhead Honor & Scouters Key.

Howard was a member of Havelock Christian Church.
Visitation: Cremation. No visitation.

Service: No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorials: Memorials may be sent to the church at 6520 Colfax St., Lincoln, NE 68507 or to a charity of choice.

Family Information: Howard is survived by his wife Irene; grandsons Chadd & Travis of Lincoln; sister Dorothy Dearth of Ohio; brothers Robert Sewell & wife, Richard Sewell all of Ohio; brother in law Don Nichols of York, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews & friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Gregg, parents Roy & Grace Sewell, brother Dale & sister Donna.

Born January 18, 1933 in Wellington, Colorado.

Retired U.S. Air Force, Captain.

Member of the Sierra Club.

passed away after a brief illness.

Visitation: No visitation.

Service: Private family graveside service.
Location: Riverside cemetery in Crete, Nebraska

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sierra Club.
