Nick Holt, Jr.
Nick Holt, Jr., 69, of Lincoln, died June 22, 2009. Mr. Holt was born January 15, 1940 to Nick, Sr. and Pinky (Taylor) Holt in Grenada, MI. Nick moved to Chicago in the 1950s, where he and his brother started the band Magic Slim and the Teardrops. Nick anchored the South Side Chicago-blues band with his steady bass line. He was a gentle soul and always knew how to make the girls smile. In 1999, he was nominated for a W.C. Handy Award as best blues instrumentalist on bass.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony; daughter, Nicole; two brothers, Frank and Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Lincoln; five sons, Carlton, Kary, Norman, Devonte & Denota Holt all of Lincoln; a daughter, Jeana Holt of Lincoln; brother, Morris “Magic Slim” Holt of Lincoln; sister, Lucinda Brown of Mississippi; twenty nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A. Street, Lincoln 68510.
Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 12:00P-9:00P on Friday at the funeral home.

Name: Donald Eilt Henninger, 84 of Lincoln, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 5, 2009.
Biographical info: Member Sheridan Lutheran Church. Born on a farm, near Fairfield, NE, December 26th, 1924. Graduated from Fairfield high school with a distinguished athletic career. Served in the Army Artillery during WWII. Married to Margaret Swindell in 1947 in Oxford, NE. Worked as a truck driver before becoming an Agent for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance where he served his community for 30 years. He was elected to the President’s Club numerous times for outstanding production.
Survivors: Wife Margaret Henninger- Lincoln; Sons: Dr. Ron Henninger and wife Dr. Carol Irwin, San Jose, CA. Richard Henninger and wife D.J., Pottsboro, TX. Daughters: Beverly Henninger, Ralston, NE. Barbara Scott, Denver, CO. Grandchildren: Heather Henninger, Chase Henninger, Preston Henninger, Jakob Scott. Sister and brother in law: Ila and Delmar Tjarks, Hastings, NE. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Reifschneider, Marguerite E.
Marguerite E. Reifschneider, 97 of New Bern, NC formerly of Lincoln, NE, passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 in New Bern, NC. Marguerite was born the third child of Carl & Marie Hauserman on July 23, 1912, on a farm near Huntley, NE. She graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin, NE in 1930. Marguerite work on her parents’ farm until 1934, when she moved to Lincoln, NE. She married
Jacob Reifschneider in 1936 and Marguerite lived in Lincoln, NE until July 2008 when she moved to New Bern, NC.
Marguerite is a member of First Presbyterian Church in New Bern, NC. Prior to moving to New Bern, she was a long time member of Faith United Church of Christ in Lincoln. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile Naphis Temple # 66, Eastern Star Temple Chapter # 271, WSI Auxiliary, Widows Association of Sesostris and Life Member of PTA.
Marguerite is survived by her Son John Reifschneider and his wife Betty Lou of Locust Grove, GA, her daughter Joan Peacock and her husband James of New Bern, NC, six grandsons, five granddaughters-in-law, seven great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Fred and Theodore Hauserman and one sister Erma Peterson.
Visitation: Thursday 7-9pm w/ family at Funeral Home and one hour before Funeral.
Funeral: Friday 10:00am at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home

Joyce E. Farrell, 78, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, September 22nd in Lincoln. Joyce was born on November 9, 1930 in Rochester, New York to Frank & Margaret Ozmun.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kathy Farrell & husband Sam Allgood of Lincoln; sons, Tim Farrell & wife Patt of Atlanta, GA, Terry Farrell & Sheri Lesher of Lancaster, PA and Tom Farrell & wife Cheryl of Scranton, PA; brother, Bob Ozmun & wife Peg of Slippery Rock, PA; 7 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Farrell and brother, Frank Ozmun.
A Scriptural Rosary followed by family and friends reflections will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln. Father Michael R. Christensen will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Francis cemetery in Eynon, PA.

Davis; brother, Andrew Geankoplis & wife Barbara of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; sisters, Tina Vavoalis of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ione Sater of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Norma is survived by her son, Rick Wendell of Lincoln; daughters, Debbie Simmons & husband Larry and Linda Martinez & husband Larry of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Rinne & husband Dick of Lincoln and sister-in-law, Joyce Cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brothers & 1 sister.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday @ Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike McMurtry officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am to 9pm Tuesday @ the funeral home.

Johnny Rayman, 76, of Lincoln, died Saturday, August 8, in Lincoln. Johnny was born on August 3, 1933 in Owensboro, KY to William & Georgia (Jewel) Rayman. He was retired Air Force and later retired from Miller & Paine & TierOne Bank as a security manager.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Bonita; daughters, Michel Rayman & Tamora Overman; grandson, Jordan all of Lincoln; brothers, Forrest & Carl of Owensboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Monie Powers; 3 sisters & 2 brothers.
Graveside services will be 10:00am Tuesday at Fairview cemetery in Lincoln. Visitation will be from 1 – 9 pm Sunday & 9 am – 9 pm Monday @ Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home.

Swanson, Milton
Milton Swanson, 84 of Lincoln, NE, formerly Grand Island, NE. Died Sunday August 2, 2009 in Lincoln
Biographical info: He was in France and Germany in the Army shortly after D-Day and assisted in reconstruction of the railroads to establish supply lines for advancing troops in WWII. Milton had a 39yr carrier with the Union Pacific and retired as the Chief Regional Train Dispatcher after helping to set up the Computer Dispatching Center in North Platte NE. He spent 4 years in Grand Island as a Scoutmaster and helped a group of 5 boys to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He was known for his great sense of humor and concern for others. For 85 wonderful years we all shared him.!!!!
