DENKER - William H. "Bill", age 74 yrs., Lexington, NE, April 14, 2001. Born Dec. 19, 1926 at Omaha, NE to Herman and Elsa (Stark) Denker. Locally, Bill was involved with the Lexington Rotary Club, a past president of the
T - Bone Club as well as the Dawson County Fair Board. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. Statewide, Bill was elected to the Nebraska State Board of Agriculture in 1972. In 1985 he served on the Executive Board, and in 1997 was elected as President, where he served until 1998. He was very active with the University of Nebraska Beef Club and in 1988 was inducted in to the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife, Kay Denker, Lexington, NE; 2 sons and their wives, Mike and Karla Denker, Lexington, NE, Curt and Kandy Denker, Lincoln; 1 daughter and her husband: Sarah and Bill Carver, Omaha; 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Todd, Brett and Gregg Carver, Mitch and Chase Denker, Megan and Tyler Denker. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Art.

KERNER - Jeannette, was a stage and screen actress in Hollywood beginning in 1936 until her final film GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE in 1997. She died in Los Angeles, California on May 25, 2001. She was 85 years old.
She came to Hollywood from Omaha, Nebraska in 1936 as a student at The Art Center College of Design in costume and fashion design. At the same time she began acting and voice classes in order to pursue her life long goal of acting in film. She became a Charter Member of the Screen Actors Guild in 1936. In 1939 she married Jerry Kemer a doctor to many Hollywood luminaries.
She had featured roles in such films as HISTORY IS MADE AT NIGHT (1937), LESS THAN ZERO (1987), FUNNY ABOUT LOVE (1990), THE MIGHTY DUCKS (1992), D2: THE MIGHTY DUCKS (1994) and D3: THE MIGHTY DUCKS (1996). She appeared in the cable features BREAKING POINT (1989) and HEATWAVE (1990) for TNT. She appeared in the television movies/ miniseries MY FIRST LOVE (1988), BACKFIELD IN MOTION (1992), and NAOMI AND WYNONNA: LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE (1995).
She died of natural causes as a result of pneumonia with lung and heart complications at Cedars/Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Her sons Jeffrey and Jordan, her daughters-in-law Diane and Nicola Kerner, and her granddaughters Nickole, Kim, Haley and Grace Kerner survive her. Jordan Kerner is a film producer in Los Angeles. Kim Kerner also attended The Art Center in environmental design.
Rabbi Stephen Leder conducted the memorial service at Hillside Memorial on Thursday May 31, 2001 at noon. A reception was held at the Kerner home immediately following the service and burial. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in the name of Jeannette Kerner to The Humane Society (SPCA/LA) 5026 West Jefferson Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90016.
