Charles J. Beck

Charles John Beck 93, of Clarks died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Lincoln. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Peters Catholic Church in Clarks, on Wednesday, April 12th at 11: 00 A.M. with Father Frank Jindra officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11th from 5: 30 to 7: 00 P.M. with the rosary at 7: 00 P.M. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery near Clarks.

Charles John Beck was born September 30, 1912 in Nance County, Nebraska to Metro and Mary (Derbala) Beck. Charles served in the U.S. Army. He married Blanche Boro on November 17, 1942 in Krakow and they made their home on a farm east of Clarks. To this union two children were born Janelle and Dean. They settled in the Clarks area, where he farmed until his death. They moved into Clarks in 1955.

Charles was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks. He loved the farm and enjoyed attending Polka Dances throughout the state and in his younger years had played various musical instruments.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Janelle Schacher and husband Larry of Lincoln; son Dean Beck and wife Deborah, of Clarks, four grandchildren - Lana Kinghorn and husband Robert, Troy Schacher and wife Nicole, Steven Schacher and Ryan Beck, five great-grandchildren: Kiersten, and Trevor Kinghorn, Sierra and Erika Schacher and Spencer Schacher; brother Donald Beck and wife Alice of Clarks, sisters: Barbara Savage and husband Richard of Columbus, Rose Anderson of Polk, Dorothy Gonsior of Columbus and Stella Gonsior of Fullerton and one sister-in-law Frances Beck of Central City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Blanche – on March 11, 1995; three brothers: Albin, Walter and Eddie Beck; three sisters: Josie Beck, Katherine Konwinski and Anna Starostka.

Wilma Grace Faeh

Wilma Faeh, age 99, died at her home Central City, on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 31st at 3: 00 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church of Central City. Burial will be in the Central City cemetery. Visitation will be at the Presbyterian Church form 1: 00 p.m. until services.

Wilma Grace was born on July 12, 1906 in Wilcox, NE to Newton Franklin and Anna Ellen (James) Potter. She attended and graduated from the Alma High School with the class of 1925, later she attended Normal School. She married Delmond Faeh on March 17, 1926 in Alma. They farmed in Alma, Republican City and wood River areas in the 1940’s and farmed in the Central City area in the late 1940’s. They operated the Massey Farm Equipment Dealership until retiring in the late 1960’s

Wilma was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and the Mariners of Central City. She was very hospitable and loved to entertain. She was an Artist and produced many fine paintings. She enjoyed her garden; she belonged to the Sketch club, and the Extension Club.

Survivors include: one daughter Ann Elkjer and her husband Edmund of Houston, TX, three sons: Wendell and his wife Nancy Faeh of Central City, Dennis Faeh and his wife Alice of Central City, Larry Faeh and wife Jan of Colorado Springs Colorado, 16 grandchildren 32 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Great grandchildren, one brother Leslie Potter and his wife Ruth of Bloomington, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delmond in 1994 and a daughter Corinne Hope Crossgrove.

Jean Billesbach

Jean Billesbach, 84, of Central City, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln. Funeral services are Saturday, March 18th at 2: 00 p.m. at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Doug McHargue officiating. A booking signing will be Friday, March 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Central City cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a memorial fund established in Jean’s memory.

Jean was born on April 9, 1921, in University Place in Lancaster County, to Byron P. and Ella (Runge) Bottorff. As a young girl, her family moved to Clay Center and she graduated from Clay Center High School in 1939. Jean remained in Clay Center and worked at the Clay County Courthouse. During World War II, while working with the rationing board, she met her future husband, Matt Billesbach. On July 7, 1952 they were united in marriage in Sutton. They made their home in Grand Island and Hastings where Matt worked as a jeweler; and then moved to Central City and worked together in their own business, Billesbach Jewelry. They operated their business until the mid 1970’s, when Matt became associate county judge. Matt died on March 4, 1992.

Jean had worked on the Election Board for Merrick County, she enjoyed going to the Central City Senior Center, and spent countless hours quilting, needlepoint, and doing other handiwork.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children – Ann Billesbach and Dave Billesbach both of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister – Lois Bostwick.

Elizabeth Marie Klute

Elizabeth Marie Klute, infant daughter of Scott and Angela (Kortum) Klute, died at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island on the day of her birth, May 4th, 2006. Private family services will be held, with interment in the Chapman cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents – Scott and Angela Klute of Hampton; her sisters and brother – Kaylee, Brady, and Shayna; grandparents – Julia Kortum of Clarks; Larry and Carolyn Klute of Hampton; great grandparents – Howard Cox of Hordville; Zelma Scott of Anselmo; and Dorothy Klute of Arkansas; aunts and uncles – Bobby and April Kelley of Central City; Candi and Scott Wiarda of Aurora; Devin and Jamie Erickson of Hampton; and Josh and Teri Klute of Lincoln.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother – Logan James on November 16, 1998; her grandfather – Russ Kortum on November 28, 2005; and great grandparents – Anita Cox; Jim and Margaret Kortum; Robert Scott, and Edgar Klute.

Teya Faith Cook

Teya Faith Cook, 16, of Central City formerly of Grand Island, died on Wednesday, June 07, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident near Central City. Funeral services are Saturday, June 10th, 2006, at 10: 30 a.m. at the Community Bible Church in Central City with Revs. Harold Cook, John Pettyman, and Gil Larsen officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery. Visitation is Friday, June 9th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Teya Faith was born on June 19, 1989, in Grand Island to Joel Allen and Julie Ann (Nilius) Cook. She lived in Grand Island, where she had just completed the tenth grade at Grand Island Senior High. As a young girl, Teya spent much time with her Grandparents Harold and Dorothy Cook and was involved in the activities of the Community Bible Church with them. She collected frog items, took dance lessons and loved to dance, and she enjoyed being with her friends and was always there to support those she loved with her kindhearted ways.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother – Julie Skarniak and Greg Glandt of Grand Island; her father and step mother - Joel and Traci Cook of Central City; her step father – Leroy Skarniak of Grand Island; two sisters – Breana and Kendra Skarniak at home in Grand Island; her brother – Darius Cook at home in Central City; her grandparents – Harold and Dorothy Cook of Central City and Bill Nilius of Omaha; her great grandmothers – Getha Swanson of Bassett and Elsie Kasten of Central City; four aunts – Jody Cook of Grand Island, Melissa Adler, Cindy Peak, and Tiffany McNitt all of Hastings; and uncle – Kenneth Rose of Arizona. Teya was preceded in death by her grandmother – Bonnie Nilius, and her great grandfathers – Carl Kasten and Gordon Cook.

Gilbert G. Driewer

Gilbert G. Driewer, 89, of Hampton, died at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk on Sunday, March 12, 2006. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10: 30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton with Rev. Loren Cooper officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church.

Gilbert Gustav was born on April 13, 1916, on a farm near Bradshaw to Gustav and Frieda (Hankel) Driewer. He grew up in the Hampton area and received his education at Zion Lutheran Church School near Hampton. On December 18, 1938, Gilbert Driewer and Anna Blase were united in marriage at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk. The made their home in the Hampton area and farmed. In 1953, they moved to the Hordville area to farm. They retired in 1980 and moved into Hampton. Anna died on September 14, 1997.

Gilbert was baptized into the Zion Lutheran Church on April 13, 1916 and confirmed on May 5, 1929. He was a member of Zion Lutheran until moving to Hordville and transferring his membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk. When they returned to live in Hampton in 1980, they returned their membership to Zion Lutheran Church. Gilbert was active in all phases of church life and had been an elder and church treasurer. Gilbert and Anna enjoyed camping in their retirement and had belonged to the Cornhusker Camping Club. He also enjoyed photography, woodworking, and video taping Hordville and Hampton sites.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son – Robert and Carolyn Driewer of Norfolk, his daughter-in-law Glenda Driewer of Rogers, Arkansas; five grandchildren – Matthew Driewer, Joseph Driewer, Jonathan Driewer, Michelle Hale, and Charlotte Goodreau; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his son – Donald Driewer in 1979, and his brother – Ivan Driewer.

Joe L. Mingus

Joe L. Mingus, 64, of York, died at his home on Thursday, March 30th, 2006. Memorial services will be Monday, April 3rd at 2: 00 p.m. at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Daniel Spearow officiating. A book signing will be Sunday, April 2nd from 2: 00 to 5: 00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Burke cemetery near Central City.

Joe Leroy Mingus was born on January 20, 1942, in Dannebrog to Wallace W. and Anna E. (Nielsen) Mingus. He grew up in Dannebrog and graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1959. After graduation, Joe went to Grand Island and worked for an auto parts store for ten years and for Chief Industries for ten years. Joe moved to York and worked at Champion Homes. On September 4, 1982, Joe L. Mingus and Twyla (Church) Kelly were united in marriage at their home in York. Joe worked for Champion Homes for 23 years and was forced to retire in 2004 due to his illness.

Joe enjoyed old cars, deer hunting, driving through the countryside to see all the animals, and helping his friends, family, and anyone in need. He enjoyed the work he did on their home and the buildings surrounding their home. The work he did traveling for Champion Homes brought him great enjoyment, but his greatest love was for his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Twyla of York; two daughters – Kristi Jo Coonts from his first marriage, Karen and Duane Hulse of Utica; and one son - Ronny and Diana Kelly of Osceola; two granddaughters – Jessica Coonts and Raechel Kelly; three brothers – Jim and Ursila Mingus of Dannebrog; Ralph and Judy Mingus of Dannebrog; and Wally and Jeannine Mingus of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters – Galene and Darlene.

Wayne R. Creech

Wayne R. Creech, 86, of Chapman, died at the Lincoln Heart Center on Wednesday, April 05, 2006. Memorial services will be Monday, April 10th at 10: 30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chapman with Rev. Richard A. Henderson officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, April 10th at 9: 00 a.m. in the Aurora cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Wayne Randall was born on October 27, 1919 in Central City to Fay and Matilda (Dughman) Creech. He received his education through Central City Schools. Wayne entered the United States Air Force in 1938 and retired from the military in 1961. Wayne R. Creech and Margaret L. “Peg” Nielsen were united in marriage in 1945 at Marysville, Kansas. Most of their married life was spent living where Wayne’s military career took them, including Germany, Texas, Nevada, Nebraska, and California. They moved to Chapman in 1985. Wayne and Peg managed the Chapman Storage Units. Peg died on February 11, 2002.

Wayne was a member of the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, he enjoyed yard work and being with friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister – Darlene Bertrand of Riverside, California; and one brother – Cecil L. Creech of Fair Oaks, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his infant daughter – Kathleen Louise in 1947, and two brothers.

Velma Rose McLean

Velma Rose McLean, 96, of Central City, died at Central City Care Center on Monday, April 24th, 2006. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Velma Rose Grosvenor was born on September 21, 1909, in Hordville to George and Rose (Hill) Grosvenor. She graduated from Central City High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree from Nebraska Central College, and then furthered her education throughout the years by taking additional course work at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. On June 16, 1934, Velma Grosvenor and William “Mac” McLean were united in marriage in York. In the early years of their marriage, Mac’s work with the railroad took them to many different locations, including one year in California. After World War II, they returned to Nebraska and made their home in Central City. Velma taught school in Silver Creek, Columbus, Clarks, and Central City. She retired in 1976, but continued to substitute teach for several years.

Velma was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Legion Auxiliary, the Hospital Auxiliary, and Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher’s Sorority. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, reading, working crossword puzzles, embroidery, and crocheting for her family and baby hats for newborns at the hospital; but her greatest love was for her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mac of Central City; two daughters – Pat and Wayne Ostrander of Central City; Rosa and Gary Crook of Lincoln; and one son – George and Becky McLean of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter – Jerry Lu Peterson on July 8th, 1996; three brothers – Ronnie Grosvenor; Reginald Grosvenor, and Gerald Grosvenor; and one sister – Glenda.

Ruth E. Oberg

Ruth E. Oberg, 96, of Central City formerly of Polk, died on Monday, December 16th at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be Thursday, December 19th at 10: 00 a.m. at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City with John Baker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in the Polk cemetery.

Ruth was born on August 17, 1906 in Denver, Colorado an only child of Henry and Augusta Skoglund. As a toddler, she moved with her family to Round Rock, Texas. She graduated from high school in Round Rock and then attended Stoney Point College in Texas. On December 14, 1927 Ruth E. Skoglund and Floyd M. Oberg were united in marriage at Palm Valley, near Round Rock. They made their home in Polk and Ruth was a homemaker. Floyd died on June 25, 1967. Ruth continued to live in Polk until moving to Central City Care Center in June of 2002.

In 1934, Ruth became one of Jehovah’s Witness and served actively as such until her health made it impossible to continue to be actively involved. Ruth enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and music.

Ruth is survived by her only child, a son, Mervin H. and his wife Kathleen Oberg of Polk and the family pet, Sweet Little Mopsy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Hannah M. Butt

Hannah M. Butt, 98, of Central City, formerly of Palmer, died on Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the Central City Care Center. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Following visitation, funeral services will be conducted at 7: 00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10th at the funeral home by Rev. Jack Eske. A time of fellowship and a lunch will be held after services at the funeral home. A private committal service will be held at the Central City cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Merrick Foundation for the Lock Performing Arts Center.

Hannah M. Butt was born on June 13, 1904 in Saline County to August and Augusta (Burkhart) Butt. The family moved to Merrick County in 1912 and Hannah attended District 50 School in Merrick County. Hannah made her home with her parents. Her father died in 1949 and her mother in 1953. After the death of her mother, she went to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and John Hake near Central City. After John’s death in 1979, Hannah and Bertha moved near Palmer. Hannah spent much of her time with her nephew, Weldon Hake, and her niece, Loris Ann Doncheske. Hannah moved into the Central City Care Center in 2002.

As an infant, Hannah was baptized at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Western, Nebraska. She enjoyed embroidery work, babysitting for great nieces and nephews, taking long walks and enjoying nature, and spending time on the farm.

Survivors include three nephews-Weldon and Wilma Hake of Palmer; LaRoy and Alpha Hake of Eureka, CA; and Roger and Marilyn Butt of Central City; seven nieces-Loris Ann and LeRoy Doncheske of Palmer; Nadine and Dale Hilderbrand; Dee and Ken Luebbe; Maxine Jensen; Dorothy and Bud Irwin; Illa Jean Scherer; and Reta Kleve all of Central City; and many great, great great, and great great great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were seven brothers-Otto, Helmet, Rynold, Fritz, and Paul Butt; infant brothers-Anton and Franks Butt; three sisters-Elsie Nickel; Bertha Hake, and infant sister Marie Louisa Butt.

Ivan O. Martson

Ivan O. Martson, 86, of Central City, died at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings on Tuesday, December 8, 2004. Memorial services are Friday, December 17th at 2: 00 P.M. at the United Presbyterian Church in Central City with Rev. Monty Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Central City cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the United Presbyterian Church or the Merrick Foundation.

Ivan Oliver Martson was born on a farm just west of Friend, Nebraska, on May 23, 1918, to Clarence O. and Leona C. (Barton) Martson. His family moved to a ranch west of Springview, Nebraska, in 1922. He attended Cub Creek Grade School and graduated from Keya Paha County High School in 1936 and faithfully attended their reunions and kept in contact with his many friends from the Sand Hills area where he grew up.

After working in Wyoming for a year setting up Gamble Stores in the Wind River Canyon area, he served as an apprentice at Jessen Funeral Home in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Ivan worked as a bookkeeper for Hewiett Oil Company and took a traveling job that brought him to Central City. He met his wife, Naoma Foster and they were married on December 29th, 1940 in the Foster home. Shortly after they married , they moved to Los Angeles, California, where Ivan worked for Lockheed Air Craft. He transferred back to Bellevue, Nebraska, to work at the Martin Plant. From 1944 to 1946, Ivan served in the United States Navy. Upon his return, he worked for the Silver Creek Bank for two years. His daughter, Nancy Martson Bond, was born during this time. They returned to Central City and Ivan worked as a bookkeeper for the T.B. Hord Grain and Lumber Company for the following ten years. He daughter, Kay Martson Georgiana, was born during this time. In 1957, he formed a partnership with the Dinsdale Brothers to start Central Grain, Inc. for three years. In 1961, Ivan started his own fertilizer business, Martson Ag Services, and became a partner in Farmers National Bank in Central City. Ivan retired in 1981, but remained very active in the Central City Community.

Ivan was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Central City and had served as an elder and trustee, he was a member of the Sertoma Club, the Lone Tree Masonic Lodge No. 36 for over 50 years, and the American Legion Post 6. He served on the Central City School Board for 15 years, until he resigned so that out-lying members could be appointed when the new Central City Senior High School was built. He served one term on the Merrick County Board of Supervisors, was appointed to the Building Council to add the Long Term Care wing to the Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital. As a member of the Merrick Foundation, Ivan served as President and headed up the committee to build the assisted living facility, Merrick Manor. Ivan and Donald F. Sampson built, owned, and operated the Parkview Nursing Home in Central City. For over 20 years, Ivan served on the Central City Housing Authority for 23 years and was involved in the building committee for Bader Villa. He also was a member of the Midstate Reclamation District for two years and served as president, he served on the Board of Directors for Farmers National Bank for 20 years, served on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Fertilizer Institutes Board, and on the SCORE Advisory Council. The Sertoma Service to Mankind award was given to Ivan in 1977. In the past few years, Ivan took great pleasure in participating in the Team Mates Program at the Central City Schools.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters-Nancy and Tim Bond of Palos Verdes Estates, California and Gresham, Nebraska; and Kay and Frank Georgiana of Hastings; two grandsons-Eric Foster Smith and Trent Anthony Georgiana; four step grandsons-Frank Georgiana, Nicholas Georgiana, Michael Georgiana, and Louis Georgiana; one great grandson-Simon Foster Smith; ten step great grandchildren; one sister-in-law-Marilyn Gillham of Redmond, Oregon; and one brother-in-law-Lowell Foster of Escondido, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Naoma, on November 28, 2000.

Derek Wade Aspedon

Derek Wade Aspedon, 24, of Lincoln formerly of Central City, died on Friday, October 31st in Lincoln. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5th at 10: 30 a.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church in Central City with Rev. Mike Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be at the Riverton cemetery in Riverton, Iowa at 3: 30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Derek was born in Aurora on February 28, 1979, the son of Pamela Aspedon. He grew up in Central City and graduated from Central City High School in 1997. During the summers while in high school and college, Derek worked for the City of Central City. After graduation, Derek went to Wayne State College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and Business in December of 2001. Since then, he has worked for the State of Nebraska in Lincoln as a computer programmer.

Derek was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Central City. He enjoyed football, weightlifting, and working on cars with his Uncle Pat. Throughout his life, his greatest love was to spend time with his family.

Surviving Derek are his mother, Pam Aspedon of Central City; his Aunt Peggy and Uncle Randy Stephenson of Bellevue; his Uncle Patrick and Aunt Rhonda Aspedon of Plattsmouth; cousins-Stephanie and John Kruse of Lincoln; Mark and LauraLea Stephenson of Bellevue; Aaron Aspedon and Amy Aspedon of Plattsmouth; second cousins-Shelby, Cassidy, and Nicholas Kruse; and special friends-Julie Berger, Jamie Gramberg, and Justin Ferris.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents-Bob and Sue Aspedon.

Betty Jane Albarado

Betty Jane Albarado, 78, of Central City, formerly of Grand Island and Dannebrog, died on Sunday, June 15, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City on Wednesday, June 18th at 10: 00 a.m. with Rev. Don Voorhees officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park in Grand Island. Visitation is Wednesday, June 18th from 8: 00 a.m. until service time. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltfh.com

Betty Jane was born on July 21, 1924, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Pearl Alfred and Nola E. (Van Camp) Hicks. Her family lived in Lincoln, where Betty attended her early years of school. They moved to Grand Island, and Betty graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1942. After her graduation, she worked at Walgren Drug and Montgomery Ward. On September 1, 1943, Betty Jane Hicks and Leonce Joseph "Pete" Albarado were united in marriage in Grand Island. They lived in Wyoming and Betty worked as a nurse’s aid in the hospital. They returned to Nebraska in the mid 1950’s and lived in Grand Island, in Dannebrog for 31 years, and then moved to Central City in 1994. Pete died on March 19, 1996. Betty worked for many years as a nurse’s aid at St. Francis Medical Center.

Betty was raised in the First Baptist Church in Grand Island. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her two daughters-Karen and Raymond Mayhew of Grand Island and Nola and Terry Bailey of Central City; five grandchildren-Cheryl Schmid and Doug Sullivan of Omaha; Lynn and Amy Mayhew of Grand Island; Trudi and Brian Henke of Grand Island; Kandi and Tim Stafford of Omaha; and Pete Hill of Central City; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother-James B. Hicks, and an infant brother and an infant sister.

Lucille Mae Adams

Lucille Mae Adams, 85, of Central City, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at the Sundermann Homes in Seward. Graveside services will be Saturday, August 23rd at 11: 00 a.m. at the Central City cemetery with Rev. Gil Larsen officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9: 00 a.m. until 11: 00 a.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City.

Lucille was born on August 12, 1918 in Fullerton to Wilson and Sarah (Rishel) Smith. She grew up in Fullerton and received her education in Fullerton Public Schools. Lucille M. Smith and William E. Adams were united in marriage and made their home in Central City. Lucille was a homemaker and a devoted and loving mother. Mr. Adams died on March 9, 1987.

Survivors include her daughter-Kathy Adams of Milford and her son-Jerry and Valda Adams of St. Ann, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son-Dale Adams, and eight brothers-Cecil, Lloyd, Richard, John, Fred, Robert, Arnold, and Chester Smith.
