Frances Ann Styskal, 86, Wahoo, NE, died Friday, June 11, 2010 in Wahoo. She was born November 28, 1923 to Frank Mastera and Frances (Slama). Frances attended country school in Ceresco, Nebraska. In 1941 Frances was united in marriage to Edward Styskal at St. Mary's Cathedral, Lincoln, Nebraska. Frances loved gardening, quilting, sewing with the church ladies and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her many friends. She was and excellent baker and enjoyed taking her baked goods to the Farmer's Market in Lincoln and Wahoo. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, St. Ludmilla's Guild, PCCW, Altar Rosary Society and Saunders Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.

Frances was preceded by her parents, husband Edward, son Stanley, 1 great grandchild, 4 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Theodore (Chris) Styskal, Lake Villa, IL, Thomas (Shari) Styskal, Greenwood, NE, George (Mary) Styskal, Lincoln, NE, Lawrence Styskal, Wahoo, NE, Teresa Styskal, Lincoln, NE, daughters and sons in law, Katherine (Ernest) Bongers, Brainard, NE, Patricia Maly, Loretta Havlovic, both of Lincoln, NE, Cynthia (Robert) Marsico, Citrus Heights, CA, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother, George Mastera, David City, NE, sisters, Mary Richardson, Lincoln, NE, Helen Nelson, Tulsa, OK, sisters in law, Alice Mastera, Ceresco, NE, Beatrice Mastera, David City, NE, Darlene Mastera, Schuyler, NE, many nieces and nephews.

Dolores V. Dorothy

Dolores V. Dorothy was born Mar. 30, 1930 in Stratton, NE to Ben and Hazel (Ross) Richards. Dolores later graduated from Schuyler Public High School. She was married to Spencer B. Dorothy Jr. on June 17, 1950. They lived in David City, NE after their marriage and moved to Wahoo in 1952. Dolores stayed at home to raise their two children, Debra and Rick. When they were a little older, she began to work for Farm Bureau Insurance where she stayed for 12 years. After that, she worked as a dispatcher for the Saunders County Sherriff's Office for 25 years. She continued to live in Wahoo until two years ago when her health began to fail. She had been living in Omaha since then. Dolores passed away at Brookstone Meadows on June 8, 2010 at the age of 80 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wahoo, the VFW Post #4502 Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Wahoo. Dolores will be remembered for someone who enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, camping, traveling, dressing up and dearly loving her dog, Scooter.

Dolores is survived by her son and daughter in law, Rick and Linda Dorothy, Omaha; daughter and son in law, Debra and Robert Cruise, Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; brother, Clyde (Darlene) Richards, Lincoln; twin sister, Dorothy Svoboda, Lincoln; brother in law and sister in law, Gene and Orletha Zeilinger, Bellwood, NE; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Spencer B. Dorothy Jr., her parents and an infant sister.

Darrol D. Hoffman, age 73, was a resident of Wahoo, NE. He passed away June 1, 2010 at the Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo after a courageous 18 year battle with cancer. Darrol was born in Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont, NE on December 17, 1936 to Raymond and Matilda (Jessen) Hoffman. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at a country church near Cedar Bluffs. As a child he lived with his parents and grandparents on a farm near North Bend before moving to Ames, NE and then west of Cedar Bluffs where he attended St. Matthews Church and School District #34. Later they moved to Wahoo where he attended Rural School District #28 and North Ward Grade School. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1954. Darrol served as a proud member of the Nebraska National Guard from March, 1957 to March, 1963. On June 11, 1966, he married Patricia Holoubek and they had three children, Lisa, Laura and Randy. Darrol was in dairying and farming with his dad for a number of years. After retiring from farming he worked for the Saunders County Sheriff's office as a Correctional Officer for almost 18 years. He enjoyed this work very much. Other jobs he held during the years were working at the Onion Plant, the University of NE ARDC at Mead and the Wahoo Sale Barn. Darrol was a people person and loved to talk and meet new people. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and his many Branson bus trips with relatives and friends. He loved "going to the boats", spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Win or lose, he was an AVID Red Sox fan. In 2005 he converted to Catholicism. He was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Darrol is survived by his wife Patricia; children, Lisa and Curt Krueger, Lincoln, NE, Laura and Tim Warrelmann, Malcolm, NE, Randy and Anne Hoffman, Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Christopher, Catherine, Anna, David and Steven Krueger, Grace and Elizabeth "Libby" Hoffman; sister and brother in law, Velva and Lyle Christensen, Wahoo, NE; aunt, Dorothy Hynek, Fremont, NE; nieces and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by his parents.

Paul R. Sheridan, age 80, was a resident of Wahoo, NE. He passed away June 1, 2010 at the Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. Paul was born in Warrensburg, MO on April19, 1930 to Paul M. and Martha (Roberts) Sheridan. Paul graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1949. He worked at the Santa Fe Railroad until joining the US Army in September of 1951, where he served three years in the ASA division, two years of which were spent in Japan. Paul was married to Betty Lou Veale on May 31, 1951 in Harrison, Arkansas. After returning from the service, he graduated from Central Missouri State College. His career field was as an auditor for various oil companies, Skelly, Getty and Texaco. Paul was an eagle scout. He was a past board president of the Wahoo Senior Center, commander of the Weston American Legion Post #308 and he volunteered as a Nebraska Training Specialist for the AARP Tax-Aide.

Paul is survived by his wife Betty, children and spouses, Mary and Bob Bartek, Ithaca, NE, Paul R. II and Sheri Sheridan, Norwalk, IA, Daniel Sheridan, Boise, ID, David and Gabriela Sheridan, Des Moines, IA; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Jerry and Margaret Sheridan, Garfield, AR, Tom and Mary Sheridan, Indianapolis, IN, Marilyn Sheridan, McKinney, TX; sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Don Osborne, Kansas City, KS. He was preceded in death by his brother Wallace Sheridan.

Casket Bearers are Chris, Chad and Nick Bartek, Justin, Joel, Timothy and Jacob Sheridan. Honorary Bearers are Noah and Paul Sheridan and Brian Barry.

Raymond J. Polacek, age 82, Weston, NE, passed away Monday (5/31/2010) in Wahoo, NE. He was born October 23, 1927 in Abie, NE to James and Mary (Voboril) Polacek. Ray attended country school in Butler and Saunders County. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Rolenc on November 28, 1959 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague, Nebraska. Ray was a lifetime farmer of Saunders County raising beef cattle, hogs and doing custom round bailing for area farmers. He was also a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1833 & Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Kucera Council #595.

Ray was preceded by his parents, infant son Joseph, 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Geraldine Polacek, Weston, NE, Chidren, Connie Revers, Kansas City, MO, Karen Rowley, Lincoln, NE, Michael Polacek, Fremont, NE, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 2 brothers & many other relatives and friends.

Joseph J. Pospisil was born on August 6, 1921 to Vaclav and Rose Mach Pospisil. He grew up on his family's farm west of Weston and attended a country school near his home through the eighth grade. He worked on the farm with his father for several years. On May 10, 1952, he was united in marriage to Deloris Pacula at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston. They made their home on the farm where he grew up. Besides raising crops, Joe always had a cow/calf herd. He loved his cattle. The farm and his family were everything to Joe. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Joe loved watching his grandchildren when they showed their calves at 4-H shows. He was a good neighbor and enjoyed visiting with friends.

Joe is survived by his wife Deloris, daughter and son in law Rita and Larry Hoblyn, grandchildren Cassie, Jesse and Jami and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leonard and Richard Pospisil, and his sister Martha Vanek.

Richard "Dick" Coady

Richard P. "Dick" Coady, age 58, of Mead, NE passed away on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Lincoln, NE on February 15, 1952 to Leo and Catherine (Gorman) Coady. Dick lived with his family west of Colon, NE in his early years. They moved to a farm between Mead and Colon in 1960 and he attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School from 2nd through 4th grade. He finished his schooling at Mead Public School and graduated from high school in 1971. Dick was a talented player on the championship football teams of 1969-1970 and was a starter on the basketball team. His family moved to a farm north of Mead in 1980. Dick had abilities in many trades, working in construction, electrical and drywall. Through the years he always farmed and raised livestock.

Dick was preceded in death by parents. He is survived by his brother Mick Coady, sister Patty Coady, nephew Patrick Coady and niece Catherine Coady, all of Mead, many cousins and friends.
