Robert Quincy Adams was born, December 17, 1940 in Hamburg, Iowa to Glen E. and Dorothy I. (Burson) Adams. He was raised in Sidney, Iowa and graduated from Sidney High School in 1959 where he was involved in many activities. Quincy started working at Western Electric on June 1, 1959. He married Alice Johnson on July 1, 1960. The couple lived in Omaha, NE until 1968 when they moved to Mead, NE. Quincy served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963-1969. On April 7, 2011, Quincy passed away in Omaha at the age of 70 years.

Quincy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed life. He loved traveling with Alice, woodworking, reading and camping. Quincy also loved sports and especially Nebraska football. As a a member of the Alma Lutheran Church in Mead, NE, he served on the church council, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as a youth leader, and was active in Bible study. He was also a member of the Pathfinder Chorus in Fremont, NE.

Quincy is survived by his wife, Alice of Mead, NE, daughters and sons in law, Kristine and Dave Hohl of Wahoo, NE, Alisa Miller and fiancé, Shane Groh of Fremont, NE, Trisha and Tim Ryan of Ashland, NE, grandchildren, Jordon and fiancé Tim, Kyle, Maija and Cal, brother, Dr. Kent E. (Bonny) Adams of Arlington, TX, brother in law, Carl (Marilyn) Johnson of Sidney, NE, sister in law, Mary Ann (Harve Johnson) of Essex, IA, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Randy and Jackie Scheffler, Doug and Janice Gustafson.

Frank E. Bohaty was born August 31, 1922 in Loma, NE to Vincent and Julia (Kana) Bohaty. He grew up on the family farm near Loma. On January 9, 1951, Frank was united in marriage to Marie Kellner at Sts. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi. They lived on a farm south of Weston where Frank farmed for several years. Later they moved to Wahoo and Frank worked in the street maintenance department for the City of Wahoo for many years until retiring in 1986. After that he operated a business of sharpening saws, knives and chainsaws. Frank passed away at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo on March 24, 2011 at the age of 88 years.

Frank was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1833 and the Catholic Workman.

He is survived by wife Marie; grandchildren Tim (Lisa) Bohaty, Sara Bohaty and Dean Ballard, Rebecca (Jeremy) Hraban, all of Wahoo; daughter in law Cindy (Leroy) Bollwitt, Fremont, NE; great grandchildren Trevor, Addison, Camden, Brayden and Ava; sisters Emily (Bernard) Sladky, Wahoo, Betty Thompson, Santa Barbara, CA; brother Dennis Bohaty, Artesia, NM. Frank was preceded in death by his son Charles Bohaty; brothers John, Vincent, Fred and Albin Bohaty; sisters Marie Podolak, Helen Schroeder and Marcella Bohaty.

Betty Lou Weiler was born November 17, 1942 in Randolph, Nebraska to Charles and Tacey (Barber) Berner. She grew up with her family in the Randolph, Osmond, Belden and Laurel areas. Betty married Clarence Fujan in 1961. They lived in Valley, Nebraska and later near Colon, Nebraska. During this time she worked at Campbell Soup Company in Fremont and at the Saunders County Care Center and Haven House in Wahoo. On September 1, 1991, she married Theodore "Ted" Weiler in Colon. She took care of the household after her marriage to Ted. Betty passed away on March 12, 2011 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 68 years. Betty loved animals of all kinds. She especially liked dogs and enjoyed taking drives to go to see a dog and many times brought the dog home with her. She did many things with her sister Bonnie, who was also her best friend. Betty was kind hearted and was always ready to help anyone who needed it. In recent years she enjoyed sitting in her yard swing and visiting with people.

Betty is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Corrina and Tye Duckworth, and Theresa and Stan Graves, all of Wahoo; son Jessie Fujan of Colon; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters Violet Roland, Diane Turnwall and Bonnie Sterup; brothers George, Charlie, Jim and Keith Berner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore "Ted" Weiler and sister Adaila Wickmer.

Frances L. Brandt

Frances L. Brandt, age 92 of Wahoo, NE, formerly of Hooper, NE died March 1, 2011 at the Saunders Care Center in Wahoo. She was born November 7, 1918 in Fremont, NE to Roy and Daisy (Eaton) Mallonee. She grew up in Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School. She married Harold Brandt on Oct. 27, 1940. After raising her five children, she spent many years as a receptionist for Dr. William Heusel in Hooper. Frances and Harold moved to Wahoo in 1992. He preceded her in death in 1999. Frances enjoyed reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.

Frances is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Bob and Peg Brandt, Wahoo, and Ted and Deb Brandt, Lincoln, NE; son in law Bert and his wife Maxine Hillers, Harlan, IA; daughter in law Marlys Brandt, Fremont, NE; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son Larry; son and daughter in law Don and Jackie Brandt; daughter Judy Hillers; and grandson Nick Hillers.

Leonard E. Benes, age 81, Valparaiso, NE, passed away February 28, 2011 in Wahoo, NE. He was born, June 18, 1929 in Touhy, NE to John and Agnes (Pekarek) Benes. Leonard graduated valedictorian from Dwight Assumption Catholic School and later attended Creighton University. He married Marlene Rezac on August 29, 1950 at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy, NE. They lived on a farm west of Valparasio, NE where he owned and operated Benes Service. They moved to Valparaiso in 1997.

Leonard was a member of Sts. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Valparaiso, NE where he served as an acolyte and parish trustee, a Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulcher, Board of Directors of St. Gregory Seminary and held various parish offices and positions.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Vitus, sister Adeline Walla, grandson, Dustin Benes. He is survived by his wife, Marlene, daughters and sons in law, Joan and Doug Matulka, Carol and Larry Aldrich, Leona and Ken Neff, Grace and Dennis Jorgensen, Annmarie and Dave Engel, Karen and Kurt Bohac, son and special friend, Dave Benes and Julia Pettit, son and daughters in law, Dave Benes and Julia Pettit, Gery and Sue Benes, Luke and Alice Benes, Leo and Alyson Benes, Chris and Janelle Benes, 46 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brother and sister in law, Ermin and Delores Benes.

Shirley Mae Fleury, age 80 of Wahoo, NE died at her home in Wahoo February 26, 2011. She was born in Wahoo on May 7, 1930 to Daniel and Mamie (Anderson) Robinson. As a young girl she attended Swedeburg Country School, Westward Elementary School and then Northward Elementary School to the eighth grade. She attended Wahoo High School through tenth grade. Shirley lived with her husbands in Omaha, Kansas City, Denver and Ashland. She moved to Wahoo in 1992. Shirley was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #4502.

Shirley is survived by sons Raymond E. "Butch" Dokulil, Danny J. "Duke" (Connie) Dokulil, all of Wahoo, and Jimmy D. (Jeanine) Dokulil, Colorado Springs, CO; many grandchildren; close friend Cheryl Hauschild, Ashland, NE.

She was preceeded in death by husbands Raymond Dokulil and Robert Fleury; sister Mary Ann Miller brothers Garth Robinson and Don Robinson..

Robert J. Hohl, Wahoo, passed away with his loving family at his side on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at South Haven in Wahoo, Nebraska. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 4, 1931 to Clarence G. and Emma (Novak) Hohl.

Robert attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School and graduated from Wahoo Public High School in 1950. He attended Creighton University for one year and completed his degree in business administration at the University Of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1954 where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and ROTC. On August 29, 1953, Robert married Ethel Schroeder from Platte Center, Nebraska and the wedding took place in Columbus, Nebraska. Upon graduation he served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in the United States Air Force for three years with station assignments at Malden Army Airfield and Air Force Base in Malden, Missouri, Carlswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas and Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma. After completing his service duty, he returned to Wahoo and joined his father Clarence G. Hohl and grandfather John G. Hohl at the Wahoo State Bank. In 1972, Robert became President of the bank and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1993. At the time of his death he served as Chairman of the Board of Wahoo State Bank.

Robert was a long-time member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church where he served many years as a lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist (EME).

An avid golfer, Robert was a member of the Hilltop Country Club. He enjoyed his 17 years of retirement traveling extensively with Ethel, dinner outings with friends, attending bank meetings and watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and participate in many other school activities. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. And a favorite past time was betting Ethel $50 whenever they disagreed on a particular detail or fact!

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel Hohl, daughter and son-in-law Cindy Hohl and Phillip Dawson of Wahoo, son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Debra Hohl of Wahoo, daughters and sons-in-law Deb and Joe Spicka of Wahoo, Kathy and Kevin Kammer of Omaha and daughter and partner, Mary Hohl and Barb Keck of Phoenix, Arizona, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
