Wayne Lee
ELSIE — Wayne Lee, 80, of Loveland, Colo., formerly of the Elsie community, died Oct. 8, 1997, at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
He was born icon March 8, 1917, in Hayes County, south of Grainton, the eighth of 10 children born icon to Walter and Bessie Sharrah Lee. He attended rural school through the eighth grade.

On Dec. 30, 1939, he married Marcella Voda at Wallace. They lived on the Lee family farm in Hayes County until 1942, when they moved to their farm home southeast of Elsie. The couple moved to Loveland in 1970, where he worked for the State of Colorado Water Board until 1982.

Mr. Lee is survived by his wife; a daughter, Phyllis Neff of Denver; two grandsons, Nathan and Brian Neff; a sister, Clara Anderson of Grant; and a brother, George (Doris) of Madrid. Committal services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grant Cemetery with John Long officiating.

Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge.

K. Wayne McCreery
K. Wayne McCreery, 69, of North Platte died Oct. 8, 1997, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born icon March 22, 1928, to Hubert W. and Lotus R. Hall McCreery at Emporia, Kan. He attended school in Kansas and Missouri and graduated from Carl Junction (Mo.) High School in 1946. He enlisted in the Marine Corp in July 1946, and was discharged from the Marine Corp Reserves in January 1953.

He then worked for Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Co., and also worked in construction.

On June 15, 1975, he married Connie K. Tuttle in Valentine.

In 1975, he moved to North Platte and in 1976 he began Waco Wall Saw Co. He successfully owned and operated the company until his death. His work brought him a great deal of pleasure.

Mr. McCreery was a member of Noel C. Donnigan Post No. 1504 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and P.R. Halligan Post No.163 of the American Legion. He also enjoyed collecting antique cars.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Amy of Elm Creek; a son, Anthony of Great Lakes, Ill., Naval Training Center; three children from a previous marriage, Robert and Ronald McCreery and Tammy Van Loenen; five sisters, Dorothy (George) Bray of Topeka, Kan., Carol (Roy) Myrick of Littleton, Colo., Virginia (Daniel) Garrison of Neosho, Mo., Mildred (Ralph) Hooker of Ashville, N.C., Mary (Jack) Smith of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Phil McCreery of Neosho; three grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hubert Hall McCreery.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Virgil Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors graveside.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home.

Theresa Mae Wilson
GOTHENBURG — Theresa Mae Wilson, 89, of Gothenburg died Oct. 9, 1997, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
She was born icon July 23, 1908, at Lincoln to Thomas and Margaret Quigley Sullivan.

On Oct. 21, 1925, she married Harry O. Wilson at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Louise Stevens of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sons, Orville D. "Bud" (Gloria) of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Bob (Roberta) of Hershey; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harry O. Jr.; a granddaughter, Laura Wilson; her parents; and three brothers, John, Joseph and Lawrence Sullivan.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry McDermott officiating. Burial will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Blase Memorial Chapel.

Clara K. Kraft
ALLIANCE — Clara K. Kraft, 93, died Oct. 7, 1997, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance.
She was born icon Sept. 14, 1904, at Eustis to Godfried and Anna Seiz Weiland.

On May 4, 1921, she married George Kraft Sr. at Holyoke, Colo. They homesteaded south of Grant. She moved to Alliance in 1983.

Survivors are eight daughters, Carolina D. Sand of Milan, Ill., Bertha Campbell of Hannibal, Mo., Martha Venditte of Omaha, Katie (John) Barber of Fort Morgan, Colo., Betty (Jim) Jones of Bryant, Wis., Susan (Dean) Starr of Sidney, Lizzie Jeffers of North Platte and Ilene (Del) Vian of Oshkosh; three sons, George Jr. (Hannah) of Alliance, John (Yoko) of Jamul, Calif., and Phillip of North Platte; 32 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kraft was preceded in death by her husband, three sons and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Health Care Center, PO Box 970, Alliance 69301.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance with Carolann Arrants officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery at Grant with the Rev. Sharee Kelly officiating.

Wilber B. Mars
PAXTON — Wilber B. Mars, 85, a native of Paxton now of Oregon City, Ore., died Sept. 25, 1997, at Vancouver, Wash.
Mr. Mars is survived by a daughter, Susan Olive (Randy) Keller of Gladstone, Ore.; three sons, Wilber Jr. (Ariel Von) of Oregon City, Jon T. (Sharon) of Spray, Ore., and Paul E. of Roseburg, Ore.; a brother, Glenn A. of San Leandro, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Esther Holscher of Ogallala; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Order of Amaranth Kellog Court No. 29, American Diabetes Association, or the Rehabilitation Unit of Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Memorial services were at Cochran and Waud Sunset Chapel in Gladstone.

The body was cremated.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Paxton Cemetery with the Rev. Doniver Peterson of Trinity Lutheran Church of Paxton officiating.

Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of local arrangements.

Cheryl K. Baye

Cheryl K. Baye, 49, of North Platte died Dec. 6, 1997, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha from complications following bone marrow transplant.

She was born icon July 24, 1948, at O’Neill.

Mrs. Baye was a graduate of the Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing at Clarkson College. She was a home-health nurse at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.

On Feb. 19, 1971, she married Larry Baye at Omaha.

A member of Signet Chapter 55 Order of the Eastern Star, she was currently serving as Grand Martha.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen of Lincoln; a son, Ken of North Platte; her parents, Fred and Marilyn Rahn Tesch of Plattsmouth; a sister, Dianne Osler of Lincoln; a brother, Rod Tesch of Phoenix; and their families.

A memorial has been established to the Leukemia Society.

A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. James Heithoff as celebrant. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. A lunch will be served at the church.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge.

Lillian P. Reysen

RENO, Nev. — Lillian P. Reysen, 64, a longtime Reno, Nev., motel manager and wife of former North Platte resident Patric Reysen, died Dec. 1, 1997, in Washoe Medical Hospital in Reno.

Surviving her is her husband of Reno; a daughter, Paula McNinch of Escondito, Calif.; and a son, Manley McNinch of Santa Maria, Calif.

Services and burial will be in San Pedro, Calif., at a later date.

Cecil Glen Taylor

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Cecil Glen Taylor, father of Douglas Taylor of Hershey, died Dec. 7, 1997, at the Mesa Manor Nursing Home. He was 80.

He was born icon Sept. 17, 1917, to Harry and Nellie Effenbeck Taylor at Hebron.

Mr. Taylor retired from Keenans Coca-Cola Company in 1980 after many years of driving accident-free. He received several recognition awards despite being deaf.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Clifton Lion’s Club and the Grand Junction Deaf Club. He enjoyed fishing and camping and his family and friends will remember him for his outgoing personality and for being a gentle person.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Rinderle of Grand Junction; two sons, Cecil Glen Jr. (Connie) of Goose Creek, S.C., and Douglas (Brenda) of Hershey; a brother, Verne Taylor of Brunswick, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Grand Valley, PO Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Orchard Mesa Cemetery with Pastor David Crowley officiating.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, which is in charge.

Marian E. Thomason

COZAD — Marian E. Thomason, 93, died Dec. 8, 1997, at Southview Manor Care Center in Cozad.

She was born icon Feb. 14, 1904, at Abbott to Fred and Effie Law Graham. She lived in several Nebraska communities before moving to Cozad in 1924.

On Oct. 1, 1925, she married Beryl Thomason at North Platte and the couple made their home in Cozad.

Mrs. Thomason enjoyed playing the piano and gave lessons for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Norma (Mel) Zoerb of Gothenburg, Joan (Roger) Stear of Gering and Janice (Bill) Ahrens of Coachella, Calif.; a sister, Meryl Grisham of Gothenburg; a brother, Harry Graham of Sutherland; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960; a daughter, Eilene Stevens; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Cozad with the Rev. Steve Deines officiating. The body was cremated and private inurnment of the cremains will be in Cozad Cemetery.

Berryman Funeral Home is in charge.

Patricia Vasquez

LEXINGTON — Patricia Vasquez, 35, of Lexington died Dec. 7, 1997, in a car accident near Wood River.

She was born icon July 23, 1962, at Mexico City, Mexico, to Jesus and Maria E. Montes Diaz Pedroza.

Mrs. Vasquez and her husband Ricardo, moved to Lexington six years ago and were employed by IBP. She attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and a son, Viviana and Richard, both at home; four sisters, Maria del Carmen of Lexington, Guadalupe and Silvia Pedroza, both of Mexico, and Maria Elena Pedroza of San Diego; and three brothers, Jose Luis Pedroza of Mexico, Juan Pedroza of Lexington and Martin Pedroza of San Diego.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Burial will be a later date at Cementerio Los Rosales in Chimalguacan, Mexico.

Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
