Brian J. Stoll

Age 49 of Nebr. City, passed away on June 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Brian was born icon on June 21, 1961 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Paul E. and Marie A. (Allen) Stoll, Sr. He attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1979. He was married to Vicki J. Aufenkamp on March 7, 1981 and to this union two children were born: Melissa and Jason. They later divorced. He was united in marriage to Georgette Christiansen on March 21, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV and they shared over 20 years of their lives together.

Brian worked for Coca Cola for 28 years and then O.F.C. Schmidt Liquid Trucking for about 3 years. He was a former member of the Nebr. City Eagles. Brian loved hanging out with his family and friends and he loved sports, especially wrestling, baseball and golf. He was a avid Oklahoma Sooners fan.

He is survived by his wife Georgette Stoll of Nebr. City; children: Melissa Stoll of Omaha, NE; Jason Stoll and wife Jena of Nebr. City; step-daughter: Jessica Holland of Myrtle Beach, SC; one granddaughter: Makenzie Marie Stoll; his mother Marie Stoll of Nebr. City; brother Lenny Grauf and wife Sharon of Plattsmouth, NE and sister Linda Johnson of Nebr. City; sister-in-law: Theresa Stoll of Omaha, NE; former wife Vicki Stoll of Lake Waconda; and father and mother-in-law Vernon and Bernie Christiansen of Nebr. City and other family and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Paul Stoll, Sr. and his brother Paul Stoll, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Michael McCabe officiating. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday (6/20) evening at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Makenzie Stoll College Fund.

Karen May (Graham) Morgan

Age 72, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at her Orlando, FL home.

Karen was born icon May 12, 1939 in Nebraska City, NE to Lester F. and Mae L. (Martin) Graham. Karen graduated from Nebraska City H. S. on May 19, 1957. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1959 majoring in Accounting and Finance. While stationed in Riverside, CA, she met Larry Morgan, also a member of the United States Air Force; and, in 1961 they married in Las Vegas, NV. She was honorably discharged from military service on April 27, 1962. In 1964, they had a daughter, Kim Michelle. They lived in Riverside, CA, Washington, DC, and Denver, CO. While in Washington, DC, Karen worked as a personal secretary in the Watergate Hotel.

In 1971 Karen was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer, resulting in removal of her voice box. Karen and Larry divorced in 1977. In 1978, she and her daughter returned to Nebraska City, where Karen lived until August of 2000. At that time, she joined her daughter and family in Flower Mound, TX. In 2003, Karen moved to Orlando, FL near her brother Benny Graham and his family.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo at Senior's First. She especially liked having numerous card games with Rose Wessel. She never complained about her own challenges; she was thoughtful, giving and compassionate of all others. She liked her flavored coffees and music - particularly Elvis, appreciated a good book and God's beauty in all things, and loved her family, who will miss her.

She is survived by her daughter Kim and her husband Roy Tiffner, of Flower Mound, TX, grandchildren Kaci McClure, Ricky Lopez-Llamozas, Nina Lopez-Llamozas, and Tony Lopez-Llamozas; her brothers Benny and wife Carolyn Graham, of Orlando, FL, Greg and wife Barbara Graham, of Fort Collins, CO; sister-in-law Grace Graham, of Nebraska City, NE; and brother-in-law Bob Allen, of Albany, MO; as well as the many nieces and nephews who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lester Jr. Graham and sister Connie Jean (Graham) Allen. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 20, 2011, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City, NE. Burial will follow in Wyuka Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Offut Air Force Funeral Honors Detail.

There will be open visitation on Sunday, (6/19) from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Ruth A. Dalton

Age 77 of Nebraska City passed away Saturday morning; June 11, 2011 at Duff's Friendship Villa in Nebraska City.

She was born icon on January 18, 1934 at Calquitt, GA; the daughter of Charles Benjamin and Elizabeth Margaret (Booth) Sheard. She attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the class of 1952.

Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond Carl Dalton on June 29, 1952 at Hiawatha, KS and to this union two children were born: Dennis and Lori.

She was employed in Nebraska City at Gangel Oil, Gamboni Motors, Davidson Insurance and for Dr. Nocita. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 2002 after working there for many years in the office.

She is survived by her husband of over 59 years Carl Dalton of Nebr. City; son Dennis Dalton and wife Connie of Nebr. City and daughter Lori Richter and husband Terry of Waco, NE; four grandchildren: Katlynn, Kody, Logan and Landon Killion; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father in law and mother in law and a brother in law Kenneth Dalton.

Services will be held Thursday afternoon (June 16) at 2:00 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Jerry Albright of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in her memory.

Marjorie A. Boerner

Age 86 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday morning; June 11, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, NE.

She was born icon on April 30, 1925 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of James A. and Alice M. (Mullenax) Polston. She attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from the Nebraska City High School as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1942. During her time in high school, she was very involved in the band where she played the clarinet.

She was united in marriage to Ralph F. Boerner on November 25, 1943 in San Diego, CA during Ralph's time in service with the US Navy during WW II.

Marjorie worked for some 18 years as a Telephone Operator in Nebraska City. She had also worked at Jessup's Drug Store and for dentist Dr. Reese. She was very active as well in the family plumbing and heating business in Nebraska City for many years.

Marjorie was a member of the St. Benedict's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She also volunteered many hours as a Red Cross Volunteer and at the Morton James Public Library. The couple was also very active in the Lions Club in Nebr. City.

She is survived by her children: Ronald Boerner and wife Sheila of North Platte, NE, Patricia Shoemaker and husband Philip of Radford, VA, Timothy Boerner and wife Mary of Syracuse, NE, Stephen Boerner and wife Teresa of Spencerport, NY and Barbara Jensen and husband Richard of Parker, TX; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph who died on April 15, 1994, sisters Leola and Lorene and half-sisters Belva and Gertrude.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning (June 15) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Nebraska City. Frs. Mark Cyza and Michael Stec will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in the St. Benedict's Cemetery.

A parish and Christian Mothers rosary will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Red Cross or the Morton James Public Library.

Donald D. "Red" Wurtele

Age 79 of Nebraska City passed away on Thursday evening; June 9, 2011 at the Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, NE.

He was born icon on September 13, 1931 at Nebraska City, NE; the son of Paul and Elsie (Huss) Wurtele. He entered the US Army in 1953 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was united in marriage to Jean L. Kreifels on October 18, 1955 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Paul, NE.

Don was a long-time farmer. He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion Post #8. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife Jean Wurtele of Nebraska City; ten children: Donna Maybee of Lincoln, NE; Terri Schlichtemeier and husband Tom of Murray, NE, Carrie Lynn Wendt of Lincoln, NE, Curt Wurtele and wife Mary of Nebr. City, Renee Hauder and husband Bill of Omaha, Randy Wurtele and wife Connie of Nebr. City, Michael Wurtele of Nebr. City, Christine Blake and husband Howard of Lincoln, Kay Evans of Lincoln and Elaine Tasler and husband Jerry of Atkinson, NE; 23 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a brother Lester Wurtele of Mesa, AZ; other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death and is welcomed home by a son Bradley who passed away in 1973, a grandson Noah Wendt, three sisters: Helen, Dorothy and Esther and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning (June 14) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebraska City with Fr. Michael McCabe celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery with military services conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Nathan White, Tony Schlichtemeier, Michael Wendt, Jamie Wurtele, Kyle Hauder, Travis Wurtele, Daniel Blake and Jacob Tasler.

A rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Visitation will start after 12:00 noon on Monday at the mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Tabitha Journey House or the ALS Foundation.

William H. "Bill" Oberdieck

Age 88 of Nebraska City, NE, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at his home.

William was born icon on August 3, 1922 in Mulheim, Germany; the son of Hubert and Antonia Oberdieck. He attended school and high school in Germany.

He was united in marriage to Adele Heffels on November 11, 1947 in Kempen, Germany. She preceded him in death in March of 1996. He later married Mary Reed on January 31, 1997 in Granite City, MO

William owned and operated Kimmel Orchard in Nebr. City from 1964 to 1990. He was member of the Nebraska and Iowa Fruit Growers Assoc.

He is survived by his wife Mary Oberdieck of Nebr. City, NE; children: Laurine Rogers and husband Richard of Urbandale, IA; Wilma Kovarik and husband Joe of Grand Island, NE and Richarda "Rickie" Giittinger and husband Dan of Nebr. City; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; step-children: Marge Pickford of Chicago, IL, Lawrence Oberdieck of Carlinville, IL and Rosalyn Huggins; six step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

At Bill's request, there will be no formal services held.

Memorials may be directed to the Otoe County Veterans Van.

Helen Clary

Age 88 of Hamburg, IA, was born icon Helen Anspach on March 8, 1923, in Los Angeles, CA. She was the oldest of two daughters born icon to Forrest and Avis Anspach. She is preceded in death by her parents and half-sister Marcene Rowan.

During her youth the family lived in Tecumseh, Shenandoah and Hamburg, IA. Helen graduated from Hamburg High School in 1940 as Valedictorian. After high school she worked for Dr. Roy Wannamaker. Not only did she run the office, but was with the doctor on many house calls, including home deliveries.

After World War II broke out, she and her sister Avis, went to live in Los Angeles. There Helen worked at Sawtelle Veteran's Hospital until the end of the war.

Upon returning to Hamburg she met Kent Clary and the two were married October 2, 1948. In 1951 Helen and Kent moved to Hawthorne, CA and then in 1953 they bought their first home in Torrance, CA. Later that same year Helen gave birth to their son, Shane Michael. In 1956 she gave birth to their second child, Janis Marie. The couple remained in California until Kent's retirement, when they moved back to Hamburg.

On June 2, 2011, Helen lost her long time battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Kent, her son, Shane and daughter-in-law Susan, her daughter Janis and son-in-law Nick, three grandsons, Vincent, Gregory, and Matthew, her sister Avis, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helen will be remembered for the hundreds of books she read in her lifetime and a savvy hand of bridge. She never let her M.S. stop her from enjoying traveling on cruises or road trips to this nation's National Parks. Helen will be missed by her family and friends, but the fact that she is now resting peacefully does much to ease the feeling of sorrow.

Beverly Francis Wieckhorst

Age 91 of Olathe Kansas, formerly of Carroll Iowa passed away Saturday May 21, 2011 at The Sweet Life at Grand Court in Overland Park Kansas.

She was born icon January 5, 1920 in Courtland, KS the daughter of Russell and Esther (Brown) Briney. She attended school in Tallmadge, KS and graduated from East High School in Sioux City, IA.

She was united in Marriage to Walter William Wieckhorst who preceded her in death September 11, 1990. In addition to husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis (Briney) Love of Visalia, CA.

Beverly attended business school and spent the majority of her career as the Director of Medical Records at St Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, IA. She was a loving wife, Mother and Grandmother. Beverly was very involved in the women's league and enjoyed her fellowship in The 1st United Methodist Church in Carroll.

She is survived by her daughter Joan Hill and husband Wayne of Olathe, KS; son Peter of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City, NE. Burial will follow in Wyuka Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harry Wieckhorst, Wayne and Ian Hill, Nicholas Ludwig, Roger Julich and Matt Meyers.

The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 24th at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Hugh D. Kipper

Age 85 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City.

He was born icon on July 28, 1925 at Nebraska City, NE; the son of William E. and Lydia (Moutard) Kipper. He attended school in Nebraska City and during high school was drafted by the US Army. When he returned home from the service, he finished high school . He then attended the National Business School in Lincoln, NE where he majored in accounting.

Hugh worked for many years at Wilson Packing House in Omaha, NE and the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Omaha, Lincoln, Hastings and New Orleans, LA. He also worked at Barkalow Brothers Company in the accounting department. In Nebraska City, he worked at Pamida as a checker, at Food Pride, Dammast Clothing and at the V-Lanes Bowling Alley.

He entered the US Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. During his time in the Army, he served with the 1st Infantry Division in both Normandy and France.

He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Gawart on April 22, 1950 in Council Bluffs, IA. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1991.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post #8, V.F.W. and the Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight.

He is survived by his son: William Louis "Lou" Kipper and wife Bev of Lincoln, NE and Thomas Paul Kipper and wife Deb of Nebraska City; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a step sister-in-law Shirley McCord of Nebr. City other family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two step-brothers and three step-sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Michael McCabe celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Nebr. City with complete military services conducted by the Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lourdes School, the Veterans Van or the Nebr. City Rescue Squad.
