Robert L. Hatfield

Robert L. Hatfield, 66, of 728 Creighton, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at his home.

Services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John L. Ross officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Robert L. Hatfield was born icon December 2, 1934 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to James Albert & Hazel Marie (Richardson) Hatfield. He graduated from Hastings High School and also from Hastings College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from March 2, 1954 to March 1, 1956. He married Marlys Theesen on June 7, 1958. He worked for Social Security for over 30 years as both a field representative and also an operations supervisor. He was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, church choir and Hastings Chorus of the Plains. He enjoyed working with wood and building custom furniture.

Robert L. Hatfield was preceded in death by his parents.

Everett G. Uhrich

Everett G. Uhrich, 89, of The Kensington, died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska.

Services with Masonic Rites will be Friday, March 16, 2001; at 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Matt Nieman officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Everett G. Uhrich was born icon April 25, 1911 in Hastings, Nebraska to George G. & Anna Marie (Camerzell) Uhrich. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1929. One August 19, 1933, he married Gladys Howell. He was the Electrical Superintendent at Hastings Utilities, retiring in 1976. He was a life long Hastings resident and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mid West Lodge No. 317 A.F. & A.M., York Rite and Tehema Shrine, all in Hastings, Nebraska.

Everett G. Uhrich was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gladys, 2 brothers; Richard & Marion and 1 sister, Edna Sheets.

Marguerite Pfeiffer

Marguerite Pfeiffer, 100, of Perkins Pavilion, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Monday, March 12, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Jeff Hale officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska.

Marguerite Pfeiffer was born icon September 30, 1900 in Adams County, Nebraska to G. Grant & Adeline (Smith) Halsted. She graduated from Hastings High School and taught at Adams County District #54 for 1 year. She married Elvin J. Pfeiffer on September 20, 1919. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1964. She was homemaker and a volunteer at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a charter member of West Blue Friendly Circle Extension Club. She was a past treasurer of the Geneva District United Methodist Women's Society and was active in the Corsage For Missions project.

Marguerite Pfeiffer was preceded in death by her, husband; Elvin J., a son Kenneth, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Hilda A. L'Heureux

Hilda A. L'Heureux, 93, of Haven Home of Kenesaw, died Friday, March 2, 2001 at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, March 5, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Hilda A. L'Heureux was born icon July 13, 1907 in Hamburg, Germany to Louis & Louise (Steffens) Schmidt. In 1928, she married Moise L'Heureux in Franklin County, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1982. While living in Hastings, Nebraska, she worked for Kresge's Department Store for 20 years, retiring in 1970. She lived in Brownsville, Texas for 22 years, returning to Hastings, Nebraska in 1992. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Hilda A. L'Heureux was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Moise, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Wayne Edward Colburn, 61, of 9650 So. Main, Holstein, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital

Services will be Monday, March 5, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Harold King officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska.

Wayne Edward Colburn was born icon November 30, 1939 in rural Adams County, near Ayr, Nebraska to Waynard & Ernestine (Kuehn) Colburn. He graduated from Glenvil High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. On September 5, 1964, he married Katharine ‘Kathy' Elsberry. He retired from Western Land Roller after 36 years and later worked for T-L Irrigation. He lived in the Glenvil, Nebraska area and for the last 12 years, resided in Holstein, Nebraska. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Holstein and an honorary member of V.F.W. in Hastings, Nebraska.

Minnie Maria Stimbert Burchard

Minnie Maria Burchard, 87, of 711 Brass Street, Juniata, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at her home.

Services will be Tuesday April 10; 2001; 2:30 P.M. at Juniata Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Joy officiating. Burial will be Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Minnie Burchard was born icon July 4, 1913 in Clay Center, Nebraska to Frederich and Elizabeth (Gahr) Boettcher. In 1930, she married Alvin R. Stimbert and he preceded her in death in 1965. She married Detmer T. Burchard in 1971. She was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church, where she participated in ladies' organizations and sang in the choir. She was secretary of the South Inland Nebraska Cemetery Association. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. In 1975, she retired from the Adams County Treasure's Office, in the county court house in Hastings, Nebraska. She lived her entire life in South-Central Nebraska.

Minnie Burchard was preceded in death by her parents, Frederich in 1955 and Elizabeth in 1948, sisters, Olga Kent, Edna Rizzuto, Esther Morse and a brother , Albert.

Survivors include,
