Services will be Monday, October 28, 2002; 2:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Dr. James Cooke officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska.

Ervin V. Fry was born icon January 25, 1920 in Adams County, Nebraska to Pearl & Gertie (Bohlen) Fry. He married Marian Fricke on April 22, 1951 in Hastings, Nebraska. He loved to farm and he also worked for Western Land Roller for over 30 years, retiring in 1985.

Ervin V. Fry was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Esther Carpenter.

Erna Golgert

Erna Golgert, 76, of The Homestead, 1116 Sycamore, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Friday, October 25, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Carl W. Utley officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Erna Golgert was born icon April 17, 1926 in Clay County, near Sutton, Nebraska to Alvin & Esther (Schwarz) Griess. She graduated from Sutton High School, Sutton, Nebraska. She moved to Loveland, Colorado and on May 6, 1945, she married Russel C. Golgert. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2000. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1956 where they farmed. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church and Ladies Circle.

Erna Golgert was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russel, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Helena L.M. Junker

Life long area resident, Helena L.M. Junker, 88, of 1124 Oswego Ave., died Monday, October 21, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, October 26, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, Christ Lutheran Churchyard, rural Juniata, Nebraska.

Helena L.M. Junker was born icon January 28, 1914 in Adams County, near Prosser, Nebraska to John F. & Anna (Augustin) Uden. She attended Prosser School. On May 28, 1941, she married Albert H. Junker and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Helena L.M. Junker was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert, 3 brothers, Robert, John ‘Arnold’ & Lewis, 1 sister, Lolita Borchers and 2 great grandsons.

Velma Arlene Buckner, of Perkins Pavilion, died Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, October 23, 2002; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Neil Vik officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Velma Arlene Buckner was born icon October 8, 1909 in Fullerton, Nebraska to Henry Otis & Hope (Rawlings) Parvin. On December 18, 1928, she married Harlan Buckner in Fullerton, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1977. She moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1975. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and worked for 20 years at Pooh Corner, retiring in 1994.

Velma Arlene Buckner was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Rural Adams County resident, Walter Paul Hoefer, 80, died Saturday, October 19, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, October 23, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5500 W. Oak Ridge Road, Hastings, Nebraska with Les & Bonnie Larsen officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams County.

Walter Hoefer was born icon August 1, 1922 in rural Adams County to Gerhardt & Meta (Kothe) Hoefer. He attended Kelly School in rural Adams County, Nebraska. He never married. He farmed and raised cattle his entire life. He was a life time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he held various offices thru the years.

Walter Hoefer was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Arthur, John & Elmer, 2 sisters, Ella Frisch and Martha Hinrichs and 1 niece, Mary Lou Hinrichs.

Funeral Rites will be Wednesday, October 23, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska.

Della G. Timmerman was born icon March 12, 1926 in Amelia, Nebraska to Hance Peter & Mary Louise (Weber) Hansen. She married Elias Timmerman on December 15, 1941. She was a homemaker and also worked at the M & M Bakery in O’Neil, Nebraska & the Grand Motel in Hastings. They moved from Hastings, Nebraska to Ruskin, Nebraska and later to Fairfield, Nebraska.

Della G. Timmerman was preceded in death by parents, 1 son, James,1 daughter, Helen, 1 grandchild, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Services will be Friday, October 18, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Marie I. Stromer was born icon January 7, 1927 in Richardton, North Dakota to Jacob & Inez F. (Poppe) Scheuffele. She moved to the Hastings, Nebraska area in 1944. On September 26, 1945, she married Paul G. Stromer and he preceded her in death. She was a cook at several area restaurants, including, the Clark Hotel in Hastings and the Plainsman in Juniata. She was a member of the Juniata Community Church, Juniata, Nebraska.

Marie I. Stromer was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul and a -in-law, Jewell Stromer.

Carl F. Schmale was born icon January 8, 1909 in Cortland, Nebraska to Charles & Anna (Goebel) Schmale. He married Georgia Hutchins in Red Cloud, Nebraska on August 15, 1939 and she preceded him in death on August 22, 2002. He was a farmer and owned Carl’s Produce at Campbell, Nebraska. He moved from Campbell, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1968. He was employed at Montgomery Ward’s and was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge # 50 A.F. & A.M. both of Hastings, Nebraska.

Carl F. Schmale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Georgia, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Sarah Jolynn Bartels was born icon May 18, 1982 in Aurora, Nebraska to Allen R. & Joyce K. (Orr) Bartels. She graduated from Harvard High School, Harvard, Nebraska in 2000. She attended Midland Lutheran College, Fremont, Nebraska. She was currently a student at College of St. Mary, Omaha, Nebraska. She was a life long Harvard resident and a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska.
