Delores A. (Horton) Hock, 64, of 1329 Saunders Ave. Hastings, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at her home.

Services will be Saturday, January 25, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at North Shore Assembly of God, with Rev. Tony Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Delores A. Hock was born icon October 17, 1938, in Stuart, Nebraska to Arthur and Agnes (Dohnal) Horton. She graduated from Stuart High School and attended Wayne State College for one year before moving to Hastings in 1960. She worked at the Hastings Regional Center prior to marrying John Hock on December 28, 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of North Shore Assembly of God Church in Hastings, Nebraska.

Delores Hock was preceded in death by her father, Arthur.

Mildred Mae Mennenga

Mildred Mae Mennenga, 86, of Perkins Pavilion died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Perkins Pavilion.

Graveside services will be Saturday, January, 25, 2003; 1:30 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska with Rev. Doug Griger officiating.

Mildred Mae Mennenga was born icon July 13, 1916 at Fairmont, Nebraska to William & Emma (Kahler) Hurst. She graduated from Fairmont High School. She moved to Hastings where she married Lloyd Mennenga in October of 1937. Lloyd preceded her in death on February 5, 1992. She worked at Good Samaritan Village as a CSM. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Pythian Sisters.

Mildred Mae Mennenga was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Mennenga, son David Mennenga, one sister and 7 brothers.

Survivors include,

Mildred Christine Hueske

Former Hastings resident, Mildred C. Hueske, 89, died Saturday, January 18, 2003 at Deaconess Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Services will be Thursday, January 23, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Sacia Vik officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mildred C. Hueske was born icon March 23, 1913 at Glenvil, Nebraska to Gustav & Fannie (Mohlmann) Eigenberg. She married Alvin A. Hueske on October 7, 1933 and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1977. She was a homemaker and a seamstress for various ladies clothing stores in Hastings. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She moved to Oklahoma City in June of 2002 to be near her daughter.

Mildred C. Hueske was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin A. Hueske, 1 sister Erma Dudley and husband Marvin, 2 brothers Chris Eigenberg and Richard Eigenberg and wife Rheva, in-laws John and Martha Hueske, Ed and Anna Hueske, Albert and Neva Hueske, Melvin and Mary Hueske, Elmer and Irene Kort, Orville Hueske and Ira Hueske.

Herbert H. Eltz

Former rural Juniata resident, Herbert H. Eltz, 85, of Grandview Manor, Campbell, Nebraska, died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Grandview Manor.

Rosary will be Tuesday, January 21, 2003; 10:00 A.M. Assumption Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Assumption Churchyard Cemetery, Roseland, Nebraska.

Herbert H. Eltz was born icon July 12, 1917 in Adams County, Nebraska to Joseph & Pauline (Olinger) Eltz. He attended Assumption School through the 8th grade. He served in the United States Army during WWII from May 2, 1942-April 21, 1946. On May 2, 1957, he married Myrtle Gimpel. He was a farmer and an electrician. He was also a ham radio operator. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and a life long area resident.

Herbert H. Eltz was preceded in death by his parents.

Ida M. Nowka

Former Hastings resident, Ida M. Nowka, 93, died Monday, January 13, 2003 at Beverly Healthcare Park Place, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 17, 2003; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Ida M. Nowka was born icon August 13, 1909 in Butler County, Nebraska to Joseph & Pauline (Rerucha) Hinesh. On August 25, 1929, she married Frank Alvin Nowka and he preceded her in death in 1978. She was a nurses aide at Webster County Community Hospital, Red Cloud, Nebraska, Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital and the Hastings Regional Center, both in Hastings, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was an area resident since 1929.

Ida M. Nowka was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Nowka, 2 sisters and 2 brother.

Virgil E. Erickson

Virgil E. Erickson, 64, of 211 Kerr Ave., died, Friday, January 10, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Tuesday, January 14, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Carl Rehwaldt officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska.

Virgil E. Erickson was born icon January 18, 1938 in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Kenneth & Elizabeth (Larson) Erickson. He graduated from Albion High School in 1955. He served in the United States Marine Corp from January 31, 1956 until January 30, 1958. He married Alice (Rinehart) on September 18, 1960 and they later divorced. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1964. He was part owner of Dial Heating and Air Conditioning. He was member of the Elks and Southern Hill Country Club.

Virgil E. Erickson was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Dean & Donald Erickson.

Tony H. Eggerling, 58, of 820 S. Pine Ave., Hastings, Nebraska died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary service will be Sunday, January 12, 2003; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 13, 2003; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska.

Tony Eggerling was August 7, 1944 in Creighton, Nebraska to Anton & Mabel (Schultz) Eggerling, He graduated from Creighton High School, Creighton, Nebraska. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1963. He served in the United States Army from April 14, 1966 until August 2, 1967. He was maintenance supervisor at Champions Sport & Recreation Complex. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Eagles and American Legion.

Tony Eggerling was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Cora Mae Steen

Cora Mae Steen, 82, of the Regency, Hastings, Nebraska, died Thursday, January 9, 2003, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, January 14, 2003; 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, Hastings, Nebraska, with the Very Rev. Richard J. Martindale, Dean, officiating. Committal service will be at 1:00 p.m. Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Cora was born icon November 9, 1920, in Haywarden, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William & Isa M. (Smith) Haight. She married Wilbur M. “Bill” Bonar on February 14, 1939 in Love, Saskatchewan. They moved to Hastings, in 1946. In 1950, they moved to McCook, Nebraska, where she was a full time homemaker until 1959 when she went to work as an optician assistant. In 1962, they returned to Hastings and she worked for City National Bank. Bill preceded her in death July 17, 1964. She married Mearl Steen on August 8, 1971, and moved to Parsons, Kansas, where she was head bookkeeper for the Parsons Public Schools. Mearl preceded her in death in 1996. She moved back to Hastings in 2000. While in McCook, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. While in Parsons, she was a member of the Coterie Bridge Club and was active with the Parsons Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, Hastings. Cora loved playing games such as Aggravation and “Dice” with her grandchildren and greatgrands. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, and Bridge. She was known for her keen sense of humor and laughter and fun were present wherever she was. She most enjoyed time spent with her family and her many friends.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Bill Bonar & Mearl Steen; granddaughter Sukey Egger; brothers Lewis Haight, Raymond Haight and Richard Haight.

Survivors include,
