Jack H. Sinnard
Jack H. Sinnard, 71, of 1107 N. Minnesota Ave., died Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.
Memorial service will be Saturday, January 4, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel , Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Doug Griger and Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Private family interment at a later date.
Jack H. Sinnard was born
February 3, 1931 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Willis H. & Edna C. (Barr) Sinnard. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1949. On June 18, 1950, he married Patricia A. Hoffman. He worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Grand Island from 1950 until 1957. From 1957 until 1960, he was Collection Manager for the Collection Service Company and then was Credit Manager for the J. M. McDonald Stores until the closing of the stores in 1983. He then worked until 2000 for the Tool House of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #317 A.F. & A.M, Eagles Aerie #592 and Four Rivers Sportsman Club. He was an avid reader, enjoyed football, basketball, track, fishing, hunting and was an avid competitive shooter.
Jack H. Sinnard was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Tom Sinnard.

Dean F. Cecrle, 56, of 700 Valley Chase Ave, died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday, January 4, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Barry Rempp & Rev. Karen Roback officiating. Burial will be 2:00 P.M. at Eureka Cemetery, northwest of Daykin, Nebraska.
Dean F. Cecrle was born
August 2, 1946 in Friend, Nebraska to Frank & Rose Marie (Sadlo) Cecrle. He graduated from Daykin High School, Daykin, Nebraska and from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree, double major in Biology & Science and Masters of Education with an emphasis in Secondary Education. He married Deborah Davis on June 16, 1973 in Ankeny, Iowa. He taught school in Wichita, Kansas and Silver Lake at Roseland, Nebraska before coming to Hastings High School, Hastings, Nebraska in 1992. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, where he was a Trustee, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Moderator & Moderator, Nebraska State Education Association, Hastings Education Association, Western Fraternal Life Lodge and a past member of the Lion’s Club. His interest’s were outdoor activities and farming.

Former Hastings resident, Florence M. Wagner, 92, of Homestead Heathcare and Rehab Center, Lincoln, Nebraska, died Friday, February 28, 2003.
Services will be Friday, March 7, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Dr. Sam Rathod officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, in Hastings, Nebraska.
Florence M. Wagner was born
August 15, 1910 in Cozad, Nebraska to Henry H. & Carolina (Bodemer) Morris. She graduated from Cozad High School, Cozad, Nebraska and attended both the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Kearney State Teachers College, Kearney, Nebraska. She taught in the rural schools of Dawson County, Nebraska prior to her marriage on August 30, 1935 to Carl H. Wagner. He preceded her in death July 17, 2002. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, NARFE and the Church Circle. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother during her 67 years of marriage.
Florence M. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl; brothers, Floyd & Glen Morris; sisters, Dorothy Weaver, Edith Severance and Arlene Sinor.

Longtime Roseland resident, Anna M. Mousel, 85, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Perkins Pavilion.
Rosary service will be Monday, March 3, 2003; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 4, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, both rural Roseland, Nebraska.
Anna M. Mousel was born
on a farm March 2, 1917 near Assumption, Nebraska to John & Mary (Phillips) David. She attended school at Assumption through the eighth grade. On October 19, 1937, she married Ernest Mousel and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Assumption Catholic Church and it’s Alter Society. She enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting and bingo.
Anna M. Mousel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, two brothers, three sisters and one great granddaughter, A.J. Hallgrimson.

Dolores ‘Dee’ Burchess, 84, the Regency, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be Sunday, March 2, 2003; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday March 3, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Dolores ‘Dee’ Burchess was born
June 20, 1918 in Elba, Nebraska to Frank & Elizabeth (Zalewski) Nodlinski. Her family moved to Hastings, Nebraska when she was a small child. She attended St. Cecilia’s Catholic School and graduated from Hastings Senior High. She attended Hastings College and later the Strayer’s Business College in Washington D.C. She worked for the Federal Government from June of 1942 to September of 1974, retiring as secretary to the Deputy Director of Defense Research & Engineering at the Pentagon. She witnessed the launching of the first atomic submarine, the USS Nautilus at Groton, Connecticut in 1954. She returned to Hastings, Nebraska after her retirement. On December 21, 1977, she married Jack C. Burchess in Honolulu, Hawaii and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a past member of Lochland Country Club.

Marvin A. Ruenholl, 74, of 3245 S. Baltimore, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at his home.

Marvin A. Ruenholl was born
May 18, 1928 in Lorton, Nebraska to Henry & Frieda (Wiese) Ruenholl. He graduated from Talmage High School, Talmage, Nebraska. On October 21, 1953, he married Verona Fritzemeyer, in Syracuse, Nebraska. He farmed in the Syracuse area before moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1982. He was a feed truck driver at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, Nebraska. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Warren Keith Hamer, 54, of 604 N. Adams, Juniata, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 22, 2003 at his home.
Services will be Wednesday, February 26, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Ken Christensen officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.
Warren Keith Hamer was born
June 21, 1948 in council Bluffs, Iowa to Orvil & Faye (Cargill) Hamer. He grew up in Scotia, Nebraska and attended North Loup Scotia Elementary School. He graduated from Nebraska Christian High School, Central City, Nebraska in 1966. He attended Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska and enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1966. In November of 1967, he graduated from the Naval Technical Training Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He was stationed at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida and spent 2 months in Puerto Rico. In July of 1968, he was injured in an auto accident in Florida and spent 16 months in various hospitals. On May 6, 1971, he married Kathryn McKimmey. They moved to Juniata, Nebraska from Scotia, Nebraska in 1972. He then attended Central Community College, Hastings, Nebraska. He did farm work for various people and also did odd jobs. He was a member of the Juniata Lions Club, a life member of DAV and a past American Legion member.
Warren Keith Hamer was preceded in death by his mother in June of 1997, father-in-law, Bud McKimmey in February 2003 and his grandparents.

Mildred C. Calhoun was born
December 28, 1913 in Steinauer, Nebraska to John & Barbara Ann (Stemper) Weber. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School, Hebron, Nebraska. She married Archie Calhoun on September 10, 1929 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was been a resident of Hastings for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker and baby sat for numerous local families.
