Alyssa Sherman
01/10/1986 - 4/14/2005

Alyssa Sherman, 19, of Morrill, died Thursday, April 14 at Regional West Medical Center. Services will be held 10:00 Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Reverend Linda Martin officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, April 19th from 9 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family requests that casual attire be worn at the funeral service in honor of Alyssa.

She was born January 10, 1986 in Scottsbluff to Kody and Sonia (Barnett) Sherman. She was baptized December 8, 1991 in the United Church of Christ in Seneca, Ne where she attended Sunday school.

At age four, she suffered a severe brain injury in a near drowning incident that challenged her for the rest of her life.

She attended kindergarten and first grade at Mullen Elementary School in Mullen, NE. In second grade she attended Educational Service Unit School in North Platte. After her family relocated to Morrill, NE she attended school at the Child Development Center in Scottsbluff the rest of her life.

She had a special fondness for animals, flowers, and music. As a small child, she never tired of dressing in grandma’s shoes; her favorite playtime activity.

She was cared for with love and compassion by her family and other loved ones and will be greatly missed. All who loved her know her spirit will brighten the night with another star and give hope to each person every day.
Survivors include her parents, Kody and Sonia Sherman; sister Kresta Sherman, all of Morrill; grandmother Jean Sherman of Seneca, Ne; great grandmother Alice Lane of Bayard; aunts and uncles Bill Sherman, of Douglas, WY, Kelle McIntosh and husband Melvin of Mullen, NE, Barnie Sherman of Whitney, NE, Lloyd Barnett and wife Dixie, Beverly Dennis and husband David, all of Osawatomie, KS and Evelyn Camerer and husband Glenn of Scottsbluff; also numerous cousins, other family members and various caregivers.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Glen Sherman and maternal grandparents Leo and Helen Barnett.
A memorial has been established to Region I Office of Human Development Child Development Center in Scottsbluff, and the United Church of Christ in Seneca, Nebraska

Richard D. Crecelius
05/16/1936 - 4/16/2005

Richard D. Crecelius, 68, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A graveside service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, April 19th 2005 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Amos Harris officiating.
A memorial has been established to the family.

Ralph Lee Johnston, Jr.
08/02/1919 - 4/21/2005

Ralph Lee Johnston, Jr. 85, of Scottsbluff, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the West Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2005, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Tom Goodman officiating.

Ralph was born August 2, 1919 in Gibbon, NE to Ralph Lee and Alice (Luther) Johnston.
He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1938 and was inducted into the US Army February 8, 1941. He was honorably discharged on November 23, 1944 after attaining the rank of sergeant. He returned to Scottsbluff where he worked as a plumber for Platte Valley Plumbing before joining the Scottsbluff Fire Department in 1951. He married Esther Simon Robinson December 15, 1954. He was Fire Chief for Scottsbluff from 1957 until 1972. He retired from the department after 21 years of service. He worked for Scottsbluff Sash and Door until accepting the position of chief building and plumbing inspector for the city of Scottsbluff from 1979-1981.

Ralph is survived by his wife: Esther; daughters and sons-in-law: Janice (Doug) Rutter, Gering, NE, Kay (Tom) Goodman, Gering, NE and May (Stan) Propp of Minatare, NE; daughter-in-law: Shari Johnston of Gering, NE; brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Charlotte) Johnston, Scottsbluff, NE; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lucille (Tony) Dovidio, Raleigh, NC, and Rose (Jerry) Alfred of Bothell, WA; special niece: Claudine DeLiso of Pasco, WA; grandchildren: Dawn (Jeremy) Worth, Jared Rutter, Brian and Brad Johnston, John (Jeri) Goodman, Susan Goodman, Chad (Kathy) Propp and Kim (Bob) Scripter; great grandchildren: Kyla and Jarin Worth, Jordyn Goodman, Dalton Propp and Reese and Cade Scripter; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, sisters: Pearl Estes, Dorothy Ferguson; son Allan Lee Johnston, infant daughter Elizabeth Ann Johnston, granddaughter: Stevie Lynn Propp and brothers-in-law: Robert and J. B. Simon.
A memorial has been established to the City of Scottsbluff Tree Program.

Ila Mae Pfeifer
09/17/1921 - 4/24/2005

Ila Mae Pfeifer, 83, of Scottsbluff died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center. At her request, cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. A private family memorial service is planned for a later date.

Ila Mae Pfeifer was born September 17, 1921 in Sioux City, Iowa to Charles and Eva McFarland. She married Leonhard “Pie” Pfeifer June 17, 1939 in Alliance Nebraska. He died in June 1996.

Ila is survived by a daughter, Shiela Slocum of Eugene, OR, two grandsons, Ty Priest of Houston, TX. and P.J. Priest of Minneapolis, MN., and three great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Gering.

Geneva Marie Frye
04/15/1937 - 4/23/2005

Geneva Marie Frye, 68, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with LeRoy Sandford, Dwight Craig and John Smart officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Gering.

Geneva was born April 15, 1937 in Gypsum, KS to David Richard and Edith Isabell (Dewitt) Reiff. She graduated from Salina, KS High School in 1955 and Baylor Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 in Dallas, TX. She was employed as a nurse in Dallas, TX for 10 years. She married Irvin Vern Frye June 26, 1964 in Dallas, TX. While living in Gering, Geneva worked at Northfield Villa and sold Watkins Products.

Geneva loved embroidery and reading books.

She is survived by her husband: Irvin; son: Joseph (Shauna) Frye, Sioux City, IA; daughter: Deborah Sue (Kofi) Adadjo of Albany, NY; brother: Duane (Linda) Reiff, Omaha, NE; sisters: Bonnie Craig, San Diego, CA and Wilma (Jerry) Walker of Clarinda, IA, Grandchildren: Reese, Jeremiah and Nicholas Frye and Isaac Adadjo; stepmother: Inez.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation: Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel
Friends may call between 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005.

Darrel Merle Willet

05/24/1926 - 7/10/2004

A benevolent and joyous spirit has departed from our midst. Darrel M. Willet, loving and devoted husband, father and friend, loft this earth on July 10, 2004, at the age of 78. A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Berean Bible Church in Scottsbluff with Pastors Steven Demoret and Richard Crocker officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory.

Darrel was born on May 24, 1926, to Ernest F. and Mary E. Willet of Havelock, Nebraska. Darrel Grew up in University Place, graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1944, and went on to earn a degree in Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1949. On May 28, 1949, Darrel took as his wife the love of his life, Dolores Maralyn Blunk. Darrel and Dolores would celebrate the love of their union for more than 55 years.

Having overcome the debilitating effects of childhood polio, it seems only fitting that Darrel would devote the next 32 years of his life to assisting th ephysically and mentally handicapped in the state of Nebraska. His wit, courage, integrity and compassion touched countless lives, and he will be sorely missed.

Darrel is survived by his loving wife Dolores; his children, Woody Willet and wife Terry of Scottsbluff, DeAnn and husband Rick Richter of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Monty Willet of Carrollton, Texas, Phillip Willet of Dallas, Texas; and his grandchildren, Jacqui Richter of New York, Amy Parker of Kearney; and Luke, Nicole, and Michelle Richter of Fort Collins, Colorado; and great grandson Liam Parker of Kearney. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Wendy Suzanne Willet. God bless you, Darrel. Simple words cannot convey how much you meant to us.

David Lawrence Blome

03/09/1948 - 7/9/2004

David Lawrence Blome, 56 of Scottsbluff, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at his home. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery at Bridgeport. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff.
David was born March 9, 1948 at Scottsbluff to Eugene and Vera (Suhr) Blome. He graduated from Chadron High School and Chadron State College. David had been employed as a Conductor with Burlington Northern Railroad and was currently employed with Grease’n-Go in Gering.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas Blome of Lincoln; Vince Blome of Fremont and Clint Blome of Lincoln; sister, Juanita Mayer of Gering and brother, George Blome of Wheatland, WY
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Elias Abel Arellano

07/12/2004 - 7/12/2004

Elias Abel Arellano, infant son of Ricardo and Jessica A. (Zuniga) Arellano, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to the family.
Elias will be missed by all who mourn his passing.
Elias is survived by his parents, Ricardo and Jessica Arellano; sister, Harmony Arellano; brothers, Virgin Simon Arellano and Dempsey Arellano all of Scottsbluff and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marcus Adrian Santos

06/21/2004 - 7/16/2004

Marcus Adrian Santos, 3 week old, son of Donovan Santos and Chastity Hughes, died Thursday July 16, 2004 at Regional West Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff with Dr. Charles L. Bonds officiating.
Marcus was born June 21, 2004 in Denver, CO to Donovan Santos and Chastity Hughes. He was transferred from Presbyterian-St. Luke’s in Denver, to Regional West Medical Center July 14, 2004. Marcus was a fighter and touched many lives while with us for just a short time. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his parents of Scottsbluff; brother: Devin Hughes, of the home; grandparents: Wanda and Dave Santos of Scottsbluff and Jennifer and Scott Hughes of Gering; great grandparents: Thelma Jean Ruley of Hartselle, AL and Darlene Hughes of Ravenna, NE; and numerous aunts and uncles.
His great grandfathers: Don Hughes, Jesse Santos and Concha Santos preceded him in death.

Visitation: Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel
Friends may call between 1:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004.
