Pamela Wudel, 48, of Columbus, NE, died Saturday, July 15, 2000 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, NE with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M., Monday, July 17, 2000 at Gass Haney Funeral Home and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M.
Pamela C. (Anderson) Wudel was born icon August 11, 1951 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Frayne and Eleanore (Baudler) Anderson. She attended schools in St. Peter, Minnesota, her hometown and graduated from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1968.
Pamela married Dave Wudel on August 22, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. She graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 1974. Pamela was an English and Creative Writing teacher, she taught English in Canton, SD, Council Bluffs Public Schools, Adams Middle School in North Platte, NE, Columbus Public Schools and Genoa High School. Pamela loved reading, bridge, current events and the Minnesota Vikings. Her excellence in teaching touched the lives of her many students and friends. She was a wonderful mother, devoted to her daughter Katie and husband David.

Robert "Bob" M. Toy Sr.

Robert M. Toy, 69, of Bellwood, passed away July 13, 2000 at his residence near Bellwood. Services will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nancy Peebles officiating. Interment will be at the Bellwood Cemetery in Bellwood.

Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Monday, from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Robert M. Toy, 69, was born icon April 24, 1931 to Alfred and Jessie (Talcott) Toy in Valley, Nebraska. He attended school in Valley. He married Stella Lewis in Texas. They made there home in rural Bellwood.

Robert owned Robert Toy's Plumbing Service. He enjoyed traveling, horses, going to rodeo's, watching western movies, hunting and fishing.

GRACE A. STAHL

Grace Alice Stahl, 94, of Columbus, Nebraska, died August 10, 2000 at the Beverly Health Center in Columbus. Services are set for Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be on Friday, October 13, 2000 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church beginning at 9:30 A.M. with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M.

Grace A. Stahl was born icon March 13, 1906 in Osmond, NE to Francis and Sarah (Jones) Farris. Grace attended school in the Osmond area and then graduated from Wayne State College. After college she taught in rural schools in the Osmond area. On December 25, 1930 she married Victor Stahl in Ansley, NE. They moved to Columbus in 1946 and owned and operated the Vics Deep Rock cafe and service station for many years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.

JAMES A. 'JIM' UHLMANN

James A. 'Jim' Uhlmann, 70, of Columbus, Nebraska, died October 12, 2000 at Bryan LGH East, Lincoln, Nebraska. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Columbus with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Private family interment will be in Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2000 from 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home.
James A. 'Jim' Uhlmann, 70, was born icon March 26, 1930 in Columbus, Nebraska to Felix A. and Hildegarde (Glass) Uhlmann. He graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus in 1948. He went on to graduate from Missouri Valley College in 1955. After graduating from college, he started a landscape business in Columbus, which he ran from 1955-56. He then worked as a probation officer from 1957-61.
On June 21, 1959, Jim and Roberta "Bobbie" Anderson were united in marriage at the Federated Church in Columbus. In 1961, he and his wife took over the operations of Anderson Floral. He retired from there in April of 1997.
Jim was active in many community and civic activities and groups. He was past president of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, past chairman of Columbus Days, member of the Transportation Committee, past chairman of Petah La Shaura Boy Scout District, past member of Boy Scout Troop 212 Advisory Board, past president of the Congregation of the Federated Church and member of the church Governing Council, member of Elks, member and past president of Noon Rotary with perfect attendance for over 30 years, past president of Columbus Tree Board, past chairman of the Columbus Zoning Commission, past chairman of Platte County Board of Supervisors, member of Columbus Public School's Foundation and past board member of Columbus Family YMCA and recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Archway Award, member of Lebanon Lodge 323 A.F. & A.M., Platte Valley York Rite, member of Sesostris Shrine Temple and the Pawnee Shrine Club of which he had served as president for two terms. Jim was King Ferdinand XXIV of the Columbus Days celebration in 1998.
Through his business, he was active as: district representative FTD District 8-A, past president of Nebraska Florist Society, past chairman of NeMoKan, which is a three-state florist's convention, member of Association of American Florists and a member of Who's Who of Floriculture.
In his free time, he enjoyed going to coffee with friends and spending time at the family cabin.

QUENTIN "SANDY" SEEFELD

Quentin "Sandy" Seefeld, 77, of Columbus, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Columbus, NE on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ted DeHass officiating. Interment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at First Baptist Church Columbus, NE on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time. Quentin "Sandy" Seefeld, 77, was born icon August 3, 1923 to Carl and Katie (Jelden) Seefeld in rural Platte County, Nebraska. He attended grade school at Platte County District #11, graduated from Platte Center High School, Platte Center, Nebraska and attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska.
On February 1, 1948, Quentin married Maxine Michaelson in Columbus, Nebraska. They farmed together for many years in the Madison, Nebraska area before moving back to the Columbus area where they continued to farm. Quentin, known as "Sandy" to most of his friends, enjoyed hunting, traveling, football, gardening, flowers, feeding the birds and making things with his hands. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus where he had served as a trustee. He had also served on the school board of District #3. Out of all of his hobbies, his most enjoyable times were those spent with his wife, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He was loving and caring husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

CORA A. von BERGEN

Cora A. von Bergen, 90, of Columbus, died Thursday, September 28, 2000 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska .
Graveside services and interment will be held at the Columbus Cemetery, Columbus, Nebraska, on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nancy Peebles officiating.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home, Columbus, on Saturday, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Cora A. von Bergen was born icon February 19, 1910 in Columbus, Nebraska to Albert and Louisa (Schmid) von Bergen. She attended schools in Columbus. She lived in Los Angeles, CA for a short time, but lived in Columbus for most of her life. Cora worked at Schweser's as a clerk for many years. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Columbus. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's United Church of Christ.

Eugene E. Stradley

Eugene Ellison Stradley, 75, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Columbus, NE on Friday, April 20, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Richard Bringewatt & Rev. Roland A Jank officiating. Interment will be at Columbus Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by American Legion Honor Guard, Hartman Post 84.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2001, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, April 20, 2001 from 9:30 AM until service time. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 AM, Friday at the church.

Eugene was born icon November 16, 1925 in Greenwood, Nebraska to John and Edith (Dasher) Stradley. His parents died at an early age, so Eugene was raised by his Aunt and Uncle in Waverly, Nebraska where he attended school. He worked on the family farm before entering the Navy on April 24, 1944. He was a Fireman First Class. He received the following medals: Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on April 22, 1946. After his discharge, Eugene settled in Silver Creek, Nebraska. He later moved to Columbus and met Leona Wurdeman. They were married in Grand Island, Nebraska on November 28, 1953.
Eugene worked for 6.5 years at Soil Movers in Columbus, and for 26 years at Becton Dickinson in the tool & dye department. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion and a life member of the VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time he worked on lawn mowers. Memorial may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Family Life Center.
