Ethel Loseke, 98, of Columbus, Nebraska, died, Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2001 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Immanuel Lutheran Church Columbus, NE on Saturday, July 14, 2001 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:15 AM at the church.

Ethel M. Loseke was born icon January 25, 1903 in West Hill, Nebraska to Elvin and Anna (Anderson) Hanson. She grew up in the West Hill community and graduated from Genoa High School in 1921. She then attended Kearney State College . Ethel taught school at District 39 in Nance County and also at Districts 81 and 10 in Platte County. On October 12, 1927 she married Edwin Loseke at her parents home North of Genoa. They farmed North of Columbus for 52 years before moving into Columbus in 1979. Ethel was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Country Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Robert J. Luchsinger

Robert J. Luchsinger, 61, of Fairbanks, Alaska died Tuesday, January 23, 2001 in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Memorial services are Saturday, February 3, 2001, 11:00 A.M. at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating, military honors will be conducted by American Legion Hartman Post 84. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 3, 2001 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.

Robert J. Luchsinger was born icon June 21, 1939 in Columbus, Nebraska to Henry and Florence (Littleman) Luchsinger. He attended Kramer High School and graduated in 1957, he then attended Midland College at Fremont, Nebraska. Robert served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963. He lived in Riverton, Wyoming before moving to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1975. He worked on the Trans-Alaska pipeline project before retiring in 1994. Robert was never married.

Dorothy C. Lichtenfeld

Dorothy C. Lichtenfeld, 83, of Norfolk, Nebraska, formerly of Platte Center, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at her home in Norfolk .
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Grand Prairie, Rural Platte Center on Friday, February 02, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Rev.'s Scott & Charlotte Anderson officiating. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home, Columbus, Nebraska on Thursday, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Zion Lutheran Church Grand Prairie on Friday, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Dorothy C. Lichtenfeld, was born icon November 17, 1917 in rural Platte County to Henry and Clara (Maurer) Kallweit. She attended District #28 grade school and graduated from Madison, Nebraska High School. On February 18, 1940 she married Erwin Lichtenfeld in York, Nebraska. She was a lifelong resident of Platte County. She worked beside her husband on the family farm. For a period of time, Dorothy was a delegate for the Platte County Republican Party and helped out on the election board. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Grand Prairie where she was a member of the ladies aid. She enjoyed gardening, baking, card playing, traveling, reading and soap opera's. She was devoted to raising her family.

Mildred Veburg

Mildred Veburg, 83 of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. A service will then be held at Fridhem Lutheran Church, Hordville, Nebraska at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in the Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery in Hordville. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 -10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church. There will be a family prayer service on Tuesday at 9:45 AM at the church. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus or Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville.

Mildred Edna Veburg (Nyberg) was born icon March 6, 1921 to Ellis Johnander Nyberg and Alma Josephine Nyberg (Rydson) on the family farm west of Hordville, Nebraska.
Mildred attended Hordville Public Schools graduating in the class of 1938. She attended Nebraska Central College at Central City for a year and then taught at Cedar Valley School in Hamilton County, an eight grade one room school. She took correspondence and summer school at Colorado State Teachers College, Greeley Colorado. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught Jr. High School at Kimball and Central City, Nebraska.
She married John Conrad Veburg at Fridhem Lutheran Church on June 23, 1954. They made their first home at Vestal Center, New York. In 1955 they move to El Cerito, California. In 1960 they moved to San Carlos, California where they resided until 1974 when they moved to Columbus, Nebraska.
Mildred was raised in the Methodist Church at Hordville, Nebraska and was a member of Carlmont Methodist, Holy Trinity Lutheran of San Carlos and Trinity Lutheran of Columbus.
Mildred was active in community volunteer activities while she and John raised their three sons. She served as Cub Scout Den Mother, taught Sunday School at Carlmont Methodist Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in San Carlos. She served the Arundel Elementary School PTA in several capacities. She held a life membership in the California PTA. In Columbus Mildred worked as a volunteer teacher aide at Highland Park School.

Eugene (Ike) R. Ingram

Eugene (Ike) Ingram, 70 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2004, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Hartman Post # 84. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 1:45 P.M. at the church.

Eugene was born icon on July 18, 1933 in Dickens, Iowa, to Ray and Agatha (Hilsabeck) Ingram. He graduated from high school in Gillett Grove, Iowa. On February 4, 1953 he entered the US Army and was honorably discharged on January 6, 1955. Eugene was united in marriage to Miriam Hanson at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa, on June 22, 1957.

Eugene worked at Spencer Plant Foods (later American Cyanamid) in Spencer, Iowa, and was also a volunteer firefighter on the Spencer Fire Department. American Cyanamid was bought by Land O' Lakes, Inc. which transferred Eugene and his family to Columbus, Nebraska, where he managed the Monroe AL-FA Meal and later Columbus. After retiring in December of 1993, Eugene worked part-time at the Husker Co-op.

Eugene was a member of the American Legion, The Eagles and the AmVets. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. Eugene served on the Ag committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed agriculture, boating, ice fishing, bowling and most recently playing cards and being with his grandchildren.

Pearl Fisher

Pearl Fisher, 96, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mankato, Kansas on Saturday. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home.

Pearl Fisher was born icon June 28, 1907 in rural Jewel County, Kansas to John and Martha Mullins. She graduated from Montrose High School and attended teachers college in Salina, Kansas for two years. She then taught in several rural country schools for eight years. On December 16, 1936 she married Gerald Fisher in Beatrice, Nebraska. She and Gerald farmed and ran a gas station in the Mankato, Kansas area for a number of years. Pearl was active in her church and taught Sunday School. In 1964, they moved from the farm into Mankato. Because of her love for children, Pearl began babysitting. She continued babysitting until moving to Columbus, Nebraska in 1991.

Pearl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus and enjoyed the out of doors. She had a special fondness for cats, especially her own - "September".

Dorothy M. Fischer, 95, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 26, 10:30 A.M. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Father Tom Weisbecker officiating. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with a Women's Christian Guild Rosary at 5:00 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.

Dorothy Fischer was born icon January 6, 1909 in Columbus, Nebraska to Joseph and Anna (Wielgus) Sturek. Dorothy attended schools in Platte and Colfax Counties and also at St. Anthony's School. On July 3, 1926 Dorothy married Joseph C. Fischer in Platte County, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being outdoors. Dorothy spent a lot of time in her garden and taking care of her flowers. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where she was active in several church groups. Memorials may be directed to the Donor's Choice.
