Marvin was born icon September 25, 1934, in Colfax County, Nebraska to Adolph and Vlasta (Novotny) Jedlicka. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1951 and served in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Carronade from 1955-1957. On April 24, 1957, he married Shirley Kracman at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Heun.
They lived and farmed northwest of Schuyler until moving to Schuyler in 1995, where he worked as a clerk for Brichacek Auction company for over 15 years. Marvin loved family, farming, auctions and playing cards. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler, the Knights of Columbus, Schuyler Eagle's Club and McLeod Post #47 of the American Legion.
Marvin is survived by his wife Shirley, son Jay and his wife Lois Jedlicka, daughter Jolene and her husband Randy Kassmeier, one brother Gordon and his wife Maxine Jedlicka, all of Schuyler, Six grandchildren: Nicole and Mitchell Kassmeier, Brad, Matt, and Cristie Steffel and Jill and her husband Troy Bailey. He is also survived by one great-grandson, Isaac Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mary was born icon April 9, 1915, in Park Kansas to Paul and Elizabeth (Ochs) Kaiser. She graduated from Park High School. Mary and Joseph Richard Moore were married August 4, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park, Kansas. While Joseph was in the service, she worked in hospitals in San Francisco. After the war, they moved to Schuyler where she worked at the Top Notch Cafe and later worked at D&L in Columbus until retirement. Joseph died November 17, 1970. Mary later married Peter Sauer, Jr. on February 14, 1986 in Rose Hill, Kansas. Pete died in 1991. Mary was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Little Flower Altar Society and was a Charter Member of the VFW Auxiliary, serving in various offices over the years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing bingo.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Edith Iwan of Thoreau, New Mexico, three sons, Brendan Moore of Lincoln, Raymond and his wife Lorraine Moore of Bellwood, Albin and his wife Linda Moore of Columbus, two brothers, Matthew and his wife Dolly Kaiser of Costa Mesa, California and Bill Kaiser of Phoenix, Arizona, one sister, Regina and her husband Doug Adams of Hemet, California, step-daughter D'Ann and her husband Bob Hurst of Apache Junction, Arizona, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter Mary Beth Svitak, grandson Michael Anthony Svitak, five brothers and four sisters.

Cathy was born icon August 28, 1951, in Pender, Nebraska to James and Winnefred (Jahde) Welsh.
She graduated from Pender High School in 1969, attended Kearney State Teacher's College for one year and graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Radiology as a Radiology Technologist in 1971. On October 30, 1976, she married Don Krzycki at St. John's Catholic Church in Pender.
Cathy worked at Schuyler Memorial Hospital from 1971-2001, worked part-time at Columbus Community Hospital from 1981-2002 and went to full time at CCH in 2002.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler and the American Society of Radiology Technologists. Cathy loved her family and spending time with her two grandchildren, antique hunting, decorating, reading and cooking, vacation time with family and was especially proud to have been a caregiver to so many people over the years. Cathy was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was the second recipient of the Alegent Health CARING KIND AWARD while employed in Schuyler. Following a courageous battle with cancer, Cathy quietly passed away one day after her birthday, surrounded by her family.
Cathy is survived by her husband Don of Schuyler, one daughter, Kelly and her husband Glaucio Xavier, Lincoln, one son Phillip Krzycki, Omaha, two brothers, Tom and his wife Robbie and Ray and his wife Deb Welsh, all of Pender, three sisters, Carol Hilker of Pender, Jean and her husband Paul Burbach, Central City and Donna and her husband Raoul Reiser of Fort Collins, Colorado, two grandchildren, Isabel and Noah Xavier, brother-in-law Jim Krzycki of Schuyler and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Bobby Welsh and brother-in-law John Hilker.

Gerald A. Mick, 67, of Bellwood, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Gerald was born icon August 24, 1941, in Silver Creek, Nebraska to Joseph and Lydia (Gabel) Mick.
He graduated from Marietta High School in 1959. Following high school he served in the United States Army Reserves from July of 1961 to November of 1966.
On October 31, 1964, he married Patricia J. Raric at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, rural Bellwood.
They lived and farmed near Bellwood. Gerald loved farming, was an artist and also worked as a park manager. He was a member of the Bellwood Legion Post # 327, and served on the cemetery board of Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Butler County.
Gerald is survived by his wife Patricia of Bellwood, three daughters, Jene' and her husband Robert Thyren of Rapid City, South Dakota, Lyne' and her husband Steve Rerucha, David City, Andre' Mick of Lincoln, two brothers, Dwane and his wife Jane Mick and Jim and his wife Franny Mick, all of Bellwood, two sisters, Janice Molnar of Hastings and Ann and her husband Don Bell of Monroe and six grandchildren, Brett Thyren, Daniel Thyren,and Laura Thyren ,Aaron Rerucha, Holly Rerucha, and Hope Rerucha. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joann Ebel.

Helen was born icon January 24, 1918, in rural Bellwood, Nebraska to Parker and Inez Antonia (Neisner) Ostrander. She attended school at Marietta, District #30 Butler County and Rising City High School. On November 6, 1934, she married Marion Mahlin in Wayne, Nebraska. They farmed north of Rising City and retired to Columbus in 1980. Marion died in 1983 and Helen moved to David City in 1991. Helen died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women's Organization in which she was very active until her health began to fail. Helen loved flowers, baking and making ceramics.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Dianne and her husband Gary Epp of Littleton, Colorado, one daughter-in-law, Jaqueline Mahlin of David City, five grandchildren, Bruce Mahlin, Barbara and her husband Dan Rasmussen, Kurt Epp, Troy and his wife Lisa Epp and Michelle and her husband Jesse Lowe. Seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ostrander of Schuyler and Hazel Ostrander of Central City, Nebraska. She is also survived by her cousin Bob and his wife Lois Raric, of Bellwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marion, one son Donald Mahlin, seven brothers, Ira, William, Frank, Jesse, Fred, Everette, and Irvin Ostrander, three sisters, Alice Aerni, Dorothy Aerni and Mabel Kruse.

Dorothy was born icon November 18, 1924, in Raymond, Nebraska to David and Ruby (Scott) Legler. She graduated from Schuyler High School and earned a Masters Degree in Teaching from Concordia College of Seward. She taught school for over forty years. On November 18, 1944, she married Harry Lee Morbach in Marietta. They lived in Schuyler and in 1951, moved to the family farm near Bellwood. Dorothy returned to Schuyler following Harry's death. She was a resident of David place in David City the past 3 years and died there on Thursday, November 6, 2008. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Schuyler, Catholic Daughters of America-David City Chapter and was a founding member of the ADK Teachers Sorority.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, David and his wife Carman Morbach, Walla Walla, Washington, Joseph and his wife Kathy Morbach, Fort Worth, Texas, three daughters, Doll and her husband Gerald Hamata, Schuyler, Sheila and her husband James Lyons, Kernersville, North Carolina, Kimberly and her husband Richard Claiborne, Fremont, Nebraska, one brother, Bill and his wife Pat Legler, Fremont, three sisters, Evelyn Vanicek, Marilyn and her husband Vern Eilers, all of Schuyler and Marjorie Mihulka of Columbus.
Seven grandchildren, Heather (Kevin) Schlautman, Lincoln, Tasha (Rodney) Jedlicka, Schuyler, John (Becky) Morbach and Ed Morbach, all of Fort Worth, Christine Morbach, Anchorage, Alaska, Katheryn Lyons and Christopher Lyons, both of Kernersville, NC.
Two step grandchildren Cara (Chris) Sarlo and Jason (Linda) Claiborne, both of Fort Worth Five great-grandchildren, Darin and Carson Schlautman, Miller Morbach, Cody and Daphne Jedlicka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, two brothers, Leonard and David Legler, one sister, Betty Bohaty.

Ernest "Ernie" F. Mayhew

Ernie was born icon February 23, 1920 in Julesburg, Colorado to Elmer and Caroline (Muhle) Mayhew.
He moved to Schuyler as a young child. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1938 and entered the U.S. Navy on January 16, 1942 serving on the U.S.S. Wichita during WWII as a radar man 1st Class. He was awarded 8 Star Campaign Badges for his participation in Asian/Pacific and European/African missions. Ernie married Jean Balmer on December 28, 1953 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Schuyler. He worked for Wagner Mills, Inc. for 36 years and after retirement worked part time for the City of Schuyler's Oak Ballroom and Parks Department. He was a resident of Schuyler until 2003, when he and his wife Jean moved to Loveland, Colorado to be closer to their children. Ernie was a life member of the Schuyler V.F.W. Post #4836, was a Color Guard member and permanent member of Schuyler American Legion Post #47. Ernie was called to our Lord on November 9, 2008 at the North Shore Health and Rehab Facility in Loveland, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Mayhew, four children, Doug (Pam) of Broomfield, CO, Carmen (Bob) Sedlacek of Loveland, Rick (Deb) of Loveland, Kim Mayhew (Jeff Killian) of Fort Collins, five grandchildren, Jenny (Steve) Kuzmich, Brad Mayhew, Tyler Mayhew, Carla Killian and Chris Killian, great-grandaughter Addyson Kuzmich and one sister, Etta (Harold) McDuffee of Fremont, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Harold and Delbert Mayhew.

Joseph "Joe" Huss

Joe was born icon April 3, 1958, in Spencer, Iowa to Charles and Mary Ann (Hoffrichter) Huss. The
family moved to Schuyler where Joe attended Schuyler High School. He served briefly in the
National Guard. Joe was the groundskeeper at Camp Moses Merrill near Linwood, Nebraska. He
died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at the Alegent Healthcare Hospital in Schuyler.
Joe is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Huss of Cochise, Arizona, one brother John (Cecilia) Huss,
Tucson, Arizona, three sisters, Cathy Huss of Cochise, Linda (Mike) Nichols of Schuyler and Marcia
Huss of Kansas City, Kansas. Four nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Lillian (Hake) Hillen
Age-81

Lillian (Hake) Hillen of Columbus, formerly of Leigh, died November 12, 2008, at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was born icon August 4, 1927, near Leigh, Nebraska to Fred and Anna (Schmidt) Daniels. She attended Zion Lutheran School, graduated from Leigh High School and received a teaching certificate so she could teach school in the Leigh area. On March 2, 1947, she married Vernon Hake at Zion. He died in 1984. On June 5, 1987, Lillian married Lawrence Hillen at Zion. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh where she taught Sunday School. She was active in Ladies Aid, Kitty Clover 4H Club leader for over 25 years, loved sewing, cooking, gardening, singing and caring for her cat. She was also a member of the Goldenrod and Merry Farmerette Extension Clubs. She enjoyed square dancing with both husbands for many years.
Lillian is survived by her husband Lawrence of Columbus, son Wayne (Karen) Hake, San Antonio, TX, four daughters, Dianne Hake (Bob) Tucker, Wichita, KS, Marcia Hake (Dan) Karel, Seward, Gloria Hake (Glen) Wiemer, Creston, and Michelle Hake (Doug) Jebens, Kearney. Step-children Glen (Karen) Hillen and Lois (Darwin) Franzen of Leigh, 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson. She is also survived by three brothers, Herb Daniels, Howells, Leo Daniels, Norfolk and Don Daniels of Leigh.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Vernon Hake and two infant sons, Gary and Vernon Hake.

Delmar D. Schultz
Age-71

Delmar was born icon October 8, 1937, in Prague, Nebraska to James and Bessie (Novak) Schultz. He attended school in Prague and graduated from Prague High School. On September 12, 1959, he married Doris Thiem at St. John's Catholic Church in Howells. He operated a mobile feed mill and worked for Wright Feeds and Five Star for 50 years. Delmar died Wednesday at the Bryan LGH East Hospital in Lincoln.
He was a member of the VFW of Valparaiso, St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Columbus Eagle's Club and Western Fraternal Life Association. He served in the United States Navy Reserves.
Delmar loved to hunt, read, watch sports and listen to country music. He was a member of the Country Troubadours band for 37 years. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and his loving dog, Penny.
He is survived by his wife Doris of David City, two daughters, Donna (Curt) Pearson of Mead, DeAnn (Dwayne) Zessin of Lincoln, four grandchildren, Brian and Lindsey Pearson and Kelsey and Matthew Zessin, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Dorothy Schultz of David City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Schultz

Sara Reichmuth
Age-49

Sara was born icon November 8, 1959, in Columbus, Nebraska to Richard and Lorie (Hollatz) Reichmuth.
After graduating from Leigh High School, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she received her Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. She then went on to LSU where she earned her PhD in Communication Disorders. Sara was a professor at Arkansas State University for a time but spent most of her time working as a speech pathologist in many schools throughout the nation including Clay Center, Harvard, Howells, and the Mitchell/Scottsbluff area in Nebraska as well as two years in Yampa, Colorado and the surrounding area. She then moved to Coeur de' Alene, Idaho, where she planned on starting her own practice. She was baptized and received her first communion as well as confirmation at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh.
Sara is survived by her parents, Richard and Lorie Reichmuth of Leigh, one sister, Julie Degner of Fort Collins, Colorado, four brothers, Jeff (Geri) Reichmuth of Broomfield, Colorado, Tim, Tom and his wife Lisa, and Pete Reichmuth, all of Leigh, many nieces and nephews.

Eva Bailey

Eva M. (Kroger) Bailey was born icon March 20, 1920 at Hordville, Nebraska to Adolph and Minnie (Harders) Kroger. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1938. On June 29, 1938, Eva was united in marriage to Thomas Bailey in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived in Schuyler and later moved to the family farm. Eva helped on the farm and also helped her son Gordon with bookeeping. She also enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren. Eva was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler, where she was very active in the Ladies Aid. She died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Morys Haven in Columbus, Nebraska, at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, sister Arlene Krivohlavek, brothers Marlin and Wilbur Kroger and son Dean Bailey.
Eva is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Gordon (Carolyn) Bailey of Surprise, AZ, daughters and sons-in-law: Janet (Paul) Schlautman of West Point, NE, Linda (Eldon) Theilen of Schuyler, NE. daughter-in-law: Diann Svatora of Schuyler, NE. 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

Ruth Varriano

Ruth V. (Boganowski) Varriano was born icon March 6, 1926 to Peter and Emma (Ficenec) Boganowski.
She attended school in Prague and graduated from Prague High School. On November 13, 1948, Ruth was united in marriage to Joseph Varriano in Omaha, Nebraska. Ruth had lived her life in the Prague area since the age of four. She worked at the onion plant in Wahoo from 1967 - 2000.
Ruth died March 20, 2009 in Fremont, Nebraska at the age of 83. Ruth was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe in 1989, brother Ray Beggs, sister Delores Harbin and granddaughter Ronnetta Jo Cerny.
Ruth is survived by daughters & son-in-law: Fran (Bob) Vanek of Weston, Nebraska, Jolene Cerny of Sioux City, Iowa, sister Dorothy Deen of Lebanon, Missouri and sister-in-law: Mary Beggs of Burlington, Iowa. 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Darlene Wilch

Darlene was born icon October 29, 1926, in Schuyler, Nebraska to Elmer and Lenora (Kroeger) Folken.
She graduated from Schuyler High School. On July 18, 1948, she married Glen H. Wilch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler. They lived in Omaha for a year while Glen attended barber college and then returned to Schuyler. Darlene worked at the Arrow Inn Cafe, taught Weight Watchers, owned and operated the Schuyler Fitness Center and was active in the Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church. Darlene died Wednesday night at the Alegent Healthcare Center in Schuyler.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Murphy and Deb (Phil) Christensen, of Schuyler, three sons, Steve (Kristi) Wilch and Dennis (Sherry) Wilch, Schuyler and David (Kelly) Wilch of Murietta, California, one sister, Lerlaine Bohac of Papillion and a brother, Don (Donna) Folken of Schuyler. 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen in 2004, one sister, Geraldine Brocker, one brother, Melvin Folken and granddaughter Tara Christensen.

Floyce was born icon July 27, 1915 at her family's farm southeast of Stanton to James and Grace (Barr) Kingston. She was the youngest of five children. She attended rural school district #28 and graduated from Stanton High in 1932. She took Normal Training classes while in high school to be eligible for her teaching credentials and continued college classes while teaching rural schools in Stanton county. She then took a job with the U.S. Customs Service in Denver before moving back to Stanton in the mid-1940's to work in the Stanton Post Office.
On March 30, 1947, Floyce married Clifford Woeppel and they lived on his family's farm southeast of Stanton until retiring from farming in the early 1980's. They moved into Stanton and very much enjoyed their retirement with their wonderful neighbors. They also had a much larger house to host their ever-increasing family for many holidays and celebrations. Floyce served many years on the school and election boards in District #45, where all her sons attended school and graduated. All those Christmas programs, school picnics, election nights and school board meetings with which she helped. She was also a 60 year member of the Clay Hill Club and missed attending meetings when her health prevented her attendance. She was a member of Eastern Star Order 146 in Stanton for 29 years.
Floyce read almost every book in the Stanton Library and enjoyed participating in Clay Hill's annual donation of books to the library. She also completed many cross-stitched and embroidered items for her friends and family and sewed many quilts, blankets, Christmas stockings, calendars and toys for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and James Marvin Kingston and two sisters, Victoria Becker and Lenice Spangler.
Floyce is survived by her sons, Cliff (Kami) of Norfolk, Dan of Bloomfield, Jim (Joan) of Seattle, WA, Bill of Stanton and Ed (Lisa) of Firth, Nebraska, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many generations of nieces and nephews. Floyce's many friends and neighbors will never be forgotten because of their many good deeds and kind gestures.
