Guillermo Antonio Gonzalez
Guillermo Antonio Gonzalez, infant son of Anita Murillo and Guillermo Gonzalez, was born icon with Jesus Saturday, June 7, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Babyland. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents of Grand Island; grandparents, Beatrice Noriega Rodriquez of Grand Island, Jose and Judy Rodriquez of Grand Island and Juan and Salome Gonzalez of Queretaro, Mexico.

Alvesa M. "Chris" Hamilton
ST. PAUL, Alvesa M. 'Chris' Hamilton, 73, of St. Paul died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Kenneth Christensen will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hamilton was born icon April 8, 1934, at La Grulla, Texas, to Reynaldo and Maria (Tijerina) Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon.

Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Kenneth; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Sue Hamilton of Grand Island, Kenny Jr. and Joyce Hamilton of Glenville, Terry Hamilton and Craig Hamilton, both of St. Paul; a daughter, Marcia Hamilton of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Roy Rodriguez of Red Bluff, Calif.; and a sister, Irma Rodriguez of Edenburg, Texas.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Jacob, Taylor, Brittany, Sandra, Terry Jr., Sasha, Raquel, Lillian, Desma, Cody, Tim, Elijah, Nicole and Ciera, and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by granddaughters, Angel and Maria; a brother, Robert Rodriguez; and a sister, Vi Solis.

Alvesa was raised and received her education in Mission, Texas. She married Kenneth Hamilton on April 19, 1958, at Mission. They made their home in Elba, moving to St. Paul in 1965. She was an EMT in St. Paul. She worked at the Liederkranz, Chief Industries and was a clerk at Kellers Korner.

She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, was an avid Husker fan, and loved bingo. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and caring for her grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Howard F. Hand
Howard F. Hand, 85, of Grand Island died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 1515 S. Harrison, in Grand Island. The Rev. William Pavuk will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Cremation will take place following the service.

Mr. Hand was born icon June 10, 1922, at Prineville, Ore., to Charles Oscar and Louise (Brooks) Hand.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Lucille; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig C. and Rita Hand of Grand Island; and a daughter, Lana K. Ohlsen of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Other survivors include three grandchildren, Kristin R. (Hand) Watson and husband, Paul, Ryan C. Hand and wife, Teri, and Katie A. (Ohlsen) Avise and husband, Christopher; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Renae Watson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard W. Hand; and a son-in-law, Steven E. Ohlsen.

At an early age, Howard moved with his family to northern Idaho, where they were engaged in the logging and lumber milling business.

He married Lucille K. Rehder of Grand Island on Aug. 7, 1943. They celebrated 64 years together.

Howard enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Jan. 16, 1942, and was honorably discharged Feb. 14, 1946. He served in North Africa and the European Theatre. He served an additional three years in the Air Corps Reserves.

After he completed his education in horology, he and his wife established Howard's Jewelry in downtown Grand Island, continuing the business until his retirement in 1984.

Howard was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Ashlar Lodge No. 33 A.F. & A.M., past commander of Mt. Lebanon Commandery No. 6 Knights Templar and served three years as secretary of Seedling Mile School Board, District No. 74.

He was instrumental in organizing Northwest High School and was master of ceremonies at the groundbreaking on June 16, 1963.

He was affiliated with the Liederkranz Society, Platt-Duetsche, American Legion Post No. 53, Grand Island Saddle Club and the Nebraska and National Retail Jewelers Associations.

After his retirement, he enjoyed time with his grandchildren, metal detecting, card playing, cooking, baking, and compiling his book of "Humor and Reflections" and being a volunteer at Jefferson Elementary School.

Memorials are suggested to the Howard Hand Scholarship Fund through the Grand Foundation (Grand Theatre), Tabitha Home Care and Hospice or St. Pauls Church Kitchen Fund.

Louise Hayes
Louise Hayes, 85, of Grand Island died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Golden Living Center at Park Place.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Cremation will take place following the service, with burial of ashes in the Richland Cemetery at Mar-quette.

Mrs. Hayes was born icon Aug. 31, 1922, at Tekamah to James and Eliza (Salisbury) Bar-ger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; a daughter, Joyce Werner; and an infant son.

Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dwayne Sargent of Buckeye, Ariz.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Pamela Wodrich, Shelly Thomas, Daniel Werner and Tonya Dean; nine great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Louise was raised in Tekamah, where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Duane Hayes in 1943. They lived in Marquette and later moved to Grand Island. She worked as a bookkeeper for a trucking company.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Diane Horky
Amarillo, Texas, Diane Horky, 45, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Grand Island, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Ms. Horky was born icon Oct. 14, 1962, at Grand Island to Harlan and Mariette Horky.

Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter, Mandy Pitchall of Lincoln; a son, Elijio Horky of Amarillo; her parents of Grand Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Christy Horky of Grand Island; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Deb and Dale Dubas of Fullerton and Denise Deleon of Grand Island.

Other survivors are several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a very special aunt, Sherri of Grand Island; and a friend for many years, Buck of Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and an aunt.

Diane attended the old Westlawn School, Walnut Junior High and graduated from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1982. She was employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken and Day Light Donuts before moving to Amarillo in 1984.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, fishing and being with her friends and family.

Memorials are suggested to go to her children.

Earl S. "Stan" Irish
Earl S. "Stan" Irish, 78, of Grand Island died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Tiffany Square Center in Grand Island.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev. Royce Rinehart will officiate, with full military honors.

There will be no visitation. Mr. Irish was cremated.

Mr. Irish was born icon July 5, 1929, on the family farm near Brocksburg to Earl and Zelma Irish.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kellie K. Irish, and daughter, Marlys Jean Brindisi.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Helen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Michelle Irish and Clay and Alejandra Irish; a daughter and son-in-law, Sean and Walter Wasserburger; and two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Julie and Mike Pokorney and Pam Hasselman.

Other survivors are 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Romona Ratliff.

Stan moved to Stuart as a youngster, where he finished school, graduating from Stuart High School in 1947. He worked for Cleary Brothers in Stuart as a meat cutter before entering the United States Army in 1948. Following the military, he moved to Valentine, where he worked at the Valentine Locker Plant for 13 years. He moved in 1966 to Grand Island, where he worked for Swift, WHICH became Monfort where he retired in 1998.

He was active in the American Legion in Valentine, serving as commander of Leo Brinda Post 90.

In lieu of flowers, memorialS are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Donald E. Kaelin II

Donald E. Kaelin II, 55, of McCool Junction, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday July 16, 2008 at York General Hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Don was born icon April 22, 1953 at Broken Bow, NE the son of Donald and Dolores (Ely) Kaelin. He graduated from Grand Island Northwest High School, class of 1971, then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Don was a realtor, owning Kaelin Reality in Grand Island. He moved to McCool Junction six years ago. He was working at Sapp Brothers in York. Donald was an avid sports fan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Donald and Dolores Kaelin of Grand Island, sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Larry Fleharty of Fairmont, NE, Dixie and Jim Sidel of St. Paul, NE, Diana and Gary Johnson of Rogers, Arkansas, and Denise and Myron Powell of Greeley, CO and a brother Doug Kaelin of Grand Island.

Other survivors are nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece and a nephew.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Vie "Lee" Kramer
Vie "Lee" Kramer, 85, of Wood River died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center in Wood River..

All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kramer was born icon Dec. 13, 1922, at Santa Ana, Calif., to Merrill and Juanita (McCulloch) Hasbrook.

Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Cecelia Moran of Grand Island; and daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Larry Peavey of Atlanta.

Other survivors are grandchildren, Amanda, Monica, Justin and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lee was raised by her aunt and uncle in Oklahoma following the passing of her mother when she was an infant. She graduated from high school and attended Oklahoma University, majoring in English and journalism. After college, Lee took a job in Wiesbaden, Germany, following WWII, working in a hospital as a secretary.

While in Germany, Lee met her husband, Walter Moran, who was stationed as a pilot in the Air Force. When they returned to the states the couple married. Lee lived a very exciting life as the wife of an Air Force pilot. They lived in many interesting places, and Lee even learned to fly a plane that she and her husband owned. Lee worked as a civil servant during the time her husband was in the Air Force. She worked as a court reporter and surgical assistant, among many other things.

In 1953 they had a son. The family moved to Sacramento, Calif. In 1964, they were the first Americans to adopt a Philippine child. Lee and Walter were married for 48 years when Walter passed away. Later she married Jim Kramer. The couple made their home and retired in Oklahoma, where Mr. Kramer passed away.
