ARTHUR JEPSEN
Minden

Funeral services for Arthur Peter Jepsen, 87, Minden, will be at 11 a.m., today, Dec. 3, 2003, at St. John's Catholic Church in Minden with Fr. Thomas Lux officiating.
Visitation will be at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at the Minden Cemetery with military rites provided by Minden American Legion Post 94.
Arthur died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at his home in Minden.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1916, in Kearney County to Anton and Hannah (Smith) Jepsen. He was raised on a farm near Minden and attended Minden Public Schools, graduating in 1934.
Arthur was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country in the Air Corps from 1941 until 1945. He was promoted to Tech. Sgt. in the 94th Squadron and was trained to be a radio operator and mechanic.
His service time was spent in England, Africa, Italy, Sardinia and Corsica. He was awarded the Bronze Star, receiving this honor for innovation he developed for maintaining radio equipment.
After returning home he started his well drilling business and spent the next 40 years repairing and drilling wells in the Minden area.
He married Florence Schieffer on Aug. 23, 1949, and they lived in Minden.
He was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Minden, served as a trustee and board member of the building committee for the new church.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Well Driller's Association and the American Legion Post 94.
He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Jepsen, Minden; two daughters, Janet (Scott) Strong, Wilcox, and Nancy (Steve) Hillers, Lexington; eight grandchildren, Rachelle (Jason) High, Spencer Strong, Brooke Strong, Crystal Strong, Alyssa Strong, Brandon Jameson, Adam Hillers and Brittany Hillers; three great-grandchildren, Connor, Jada and Kelsey; five sisters, Helen Binderup, Virginia Schmidt, and Mildred (Clarence) Sinsel, all of Minden, Thelma Scheidies, Kearney and Nina Garrelts, Minden; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Hospice, St. John's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
Layton Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.

RAYMOND NAUMANN
Eustis

Services for Raymond Naumann, 93, Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Eustis, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Eustis with Revs. D.R. "Buck" Linton-Hendrick and Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the East Cemetery at Eustis
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Eustis.
Raymond died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Tucson, Ariz.
He was born July 5, 1910, at Eustis to Christian and Anna (Tobaben) Naumann. He attended rural school at Eustis.
On June 23, 1938, he married Ruth Halbgewachs and they resided on a farmsite south of Eustis. The couple moved to Park Avenue Estates in Lexington in 1999. Ruth preceded him in death in May 2001.
He made his home in Tucson, Ariz., since May of this year.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eustis. During his lifetime, he enjoyed reading.
Survivors include a son, Raymond O. (Susan) Naumann, M.D., Tucson, Ariz., and three grandsons, Christopher and Michael, both of Houston, Texas and Andrew, Boston, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant daughter, a sister Gertrude and a brother, Otto.
A memorial has been established in his memory.

ROBERT SEIM
Lexington

Funeral services for Robert L. Seim, 58, rural Lexington, were held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms with Rev. Robert Harms officiating. Burial was at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer.
Robert died of cancer Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Nov. 20, 1945, in Grand Island to Reynold and Olga (Meyers) Seim. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms.
On July 20, 1973, he married Judith Lahners in Worms. Judith passed away on Oct. 1, 1980.
On July 20, 2001, he married Carol Beed in Lexington.
He farmed and ranched throughout his life, enjoying working with livestock and horses. He also enjoyed camping and boating with his wife and hunting and fishing with his sons.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Seim, Lexington; three daughters, Kelly (Dave) Shollenbarger, Marshalltown, Iowa, Melissa Moore, Omaha, and Angie Hamer, Bennington; two sons, Ben (Stacy) Seim, Kearney, Jason Seim and fiancé, Kagan Smith, Imperial; step-children, Patty (Matt) Lederer, Lincoln, Jamie (Heide) Taylor, Grand Island, and Terri Jewell, Grand Island; mother, Olga Seim, Grand Island; one brother, Bill (Marlene) Seim, Omaha; two sisters, Judy (Ray) Gubser, Virginia (Nebr.), Marilyn (Jeff) Havekost, Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith, his father, Reynold, and one brother, Gerald.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

DOUGLAS MONTEY
Aiea, Hawaii

Memorial services are pending for Douglas N. Montey, 55, Aiea, Hawaii, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Douglas died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, in Aiea, Hawaii after a courageous battle with cancer.

ED RICE
Lexington

Services for William Edward "Ed" Rice Jr., 78, Lexington, will be at 10:30 a.m., today, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Pastor J.J. White officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Robb Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service.
Ed died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
He was born May 22, 1925, at Merna to Edward and Helen Rice. He grew up in Custer County, attending the Merna and Broken Bow schools.
Ed served his country in the United States Navy during World War II from Dec. 29, 1943, to April 22, 1946, when he was honorably discharged. He served overseas.
Following his discharge from the service, he was married to Goldie Applegarth and to his union three children were born. He later married Peggy Moore.
He worked for Luther Gravel Company of Lexington until his retirement. Ed loved animals. After his retirement, he kept busy raising all sorts of little exotic animals. He raised a lot of chickens and sold eggs. He loved it when people came to buy eggs. If you went there to buy eggs, you might as well plan on spending some time, as he would talk your leg off. He loved people and never met a stranger. He also loved to fish and spent many hours at the sandpit near his home.
Survivors include one daughter, Francis Leslie, Brigham City, Utah; four brothers, Don (Helen) Rice, Bayard, Harold Rice, Richfield, Minn., Charles Dale (Joann) Rice, Bradshaw, James Rice, Bayard; two sisters, Ardyth (Harry) Mills, Wakefield, Katherine (Dick) Holan, York; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peg, an infant daughter, Sharon Kay, a son, James Dale, and a sister, Helen.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

ROY COMMINS
Lexington

A memorial service for Roy Raymond Commins, 81, Lexington, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Karen Woo officiating. Roy requested that his body be cremated with his ashes returned to the land he loved so much.
Roy died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at his home near Lexington.
He was born Feb. 16, 1922, to Richard and Adelaide (Yeo) Commins at 1201 North Tyler in Lexington. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church.
He attended the Lexington school system, graduating with the class of 1941. Roy then went into the United States Army during World War II, serving his country as a driver and mechanic in the Army War Show and as a mechanic for the Red Ball Express. He following General Patton into the Battle of the Bulge to keep his vehicle fueled. While a mechanic, Roy was honored to be able to shake the hand of General Eisenhower. Following his time in the Army, Roy returned to Nebraska where he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
On May 6, 1946, he married Belva Velte at Marysville, Kan. To this union two sons were born: Mike and Scott. They lived and farmed northwest of Lexington for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church, the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Belva Commins, Lexington; two sons, Michael (Virginia) Commins, Lexington, and Scott Commins, Beatrice; two grandchildren, David and Beth Commins, both of Lexington; one sister, Ruth Macomber, Hastings; two brothers, Dean (Ethel) Commins, Warsaw, Mo., Martin Commins, Riverdale, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Libal, Lexington, Ruth Qualley, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; and one brother-in-law, Harlan Lueck, Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Earl, and one sister, Jane Peters.
Memorials are suggested to the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church, the Cozad Hospice, the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department or the donor's choice.

BOBBI JO LEGGOTT
North Platte

Funeral services for Bobbi Jo Leggott, 42, North Platte, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. K. F. Kaleauti officiating. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. The casket will be closed. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., today, Jan. 28, with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
Bobbi died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at her home.
She was born, Aug. 5, 1961, to Darrell W. and JoAnn (Miklich) Heiss at O'Neill. She graduated from North Platte Senior High School with the class of 1979 and received her Bachelors Degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 1983.
On July 13, 1984, she married David Leggott at the First United Methodist Church in North Platte.
Bobbi taught at Jefferson School in North Platte for 21 years. In addition to her classroom work, she was a PTA member and a vital part of the Jefferson School family. She was also a member of several professional organizations for educators: North Platte Education Association (NPEA), Nebraska State Education Association (NSEA), and the National Education Association (NEA). She loved children and shared her life with many through her work and personal relationships.
She was active in her church and served on the Board of Trustees, Education Committee, was a past Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Bobbi enjoyed sports and had played recreational softball and volleyball.
Her passion in life was being involved in her children's activities. She served in the youth soccer program and was past secretary in the North Platte United Soccer Association and could be found on the sidelines of many football, baseball, and soccer games yelling louder than anyone else.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Leggott, North Platte; two sons, Corey and Shea, both at home; her father, Darrell (Karla) Heiss, North Platte; four sisters, Cathy (Gary) Luenenborg, Omaha, Deb (Rick) Pittman and Kim (Kim) Zurcher, all of North Platte and Wendy (Tony) Young, Lincoln; three nieces; seven nephews; and mother-in-law, Gail (Howard) Willson, Kearney.
Her mother, Jo Heiss, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to Jefferson School, her sons' education or to Great Plains Hospice.

RYAN J. REED
Gothenburg

Ryan J. Reed, 16, of Gothenburg died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at his home.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. today, March 31, 2004, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg. The Rev. Don O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
He was born July 22, 1987, to John and Shelly (Thieman) Reed, in Seoul, Korea. He attended Bryan Elementary and Anderson Middle School in Omaha.
The last four years, he attended Gothenburg School and was currently a sophomore.
He competed in track and field and cross country. His personal interests included working on his car and participating in paint ball.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg.
Survivors include his parents, John and Shelly Reed of Gothenburg; two sisters, Amy (Deb Penrose) Reed of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kristen Reed of Miami; grandparents, Jack and Gail Reed, Cozad; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Lola Thieman.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
