KEARNEY — Bernard C. Brehm, 76, of 3810 Ave. L died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Stan Murdoch officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759 and American Legion Post 52.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the church in Kearney or Grace Lutheran Church in Franklin.

Robert Mishler
Former Holbrook resident, 84

CAMBRIDGE — Robert Eugene Mishler, 84, of Cambridge, formerly of Holbrook, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Cambridge.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Saturday) at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

He was born icon Feb. 9, 1918, in Edison to William and Avis (White) Mishler. He graduated from high school in Edison in 1936.

On May 2, 1942, he married Wilma Robeson.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and served in the South Pacific.

He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9357 in Holbrook.

He farmed all his life. He enjoyed taking drives in the country and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife of Holbrook; son, Rex of Park City, Mont.; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.

James Hays
Kearney resident, 76

KEARNEY — James Hays, 76, of 6638 46th St. died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, from injuries suffered in a tractor accident.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Oxford with the Rev. Dallas Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Edison Cemetery in Edison.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at O'Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney and one hour before services Tuesday at the church in Oxford.

Memorials are suggested to the building fund at the church in Oxford.

He was born icon Nov. 18, 1923, in rural Oxford to Joseph and Anna (Haffey) Hays. He graduated from Edison High School in 1941. During World War II, he transported German prisoners from Atlanta to work in the farm fields.

On March 17, 1945, he married Ruby McCann in Arapahoe. He farmed and worked in construction. They lived in the Edison area until moving to the Oxford area in 1963. They moved to rural Kearney in 1987.

He was a member of the Double Six Pinochle Club for 52 years, was a member of the Oxford Saddle Club, and was a football and basketball official for many years. He enjoyed rodeos, horse training, baseball and softball, and his family.

Survivors include his wife; sons Jamie of Kearney, Dan of Elkhorn and Shawn of San Diego; daughters Colleen Parker and Nancy Sayer, both of Kearney; brothers Joe and Bill, both of Edison; sisters Lucille Walker and Lois Dawson, both of Kearney, Mildred Dawson of Arapahoe and Theresa Moor of Exeter; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three sisters.

Ethel Holley
Kearney resident, 78

KEARNEY — Ethel E. Holley, 78, of 1122 Central Ave. died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. North P. Sherrill Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney and before services Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

She was born icon July 9, 1922, in Poole to Frank and Alvina K. (Reese) Fiedler. She attended rural school in the Pleasanton area.

On Oct. 21, 1939, she married Raymond B. Holley in Smith Center, Kan. They lived in Kearney where she was employed at the State Tuberculosis Hospital and at Mother Hull Home for more than 20 years. She also served as a volunteer for the Salvation Army for more than 20 years until retiring in August.

She was a member of the church in Kearney.

Survivors include her son, John of Kearney; daughter, Donna Campbell of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers, Francis Fiedler of Hobbs, N.M., and Victor Fiedler of Camp Verde, Ariz.,; sister, Winona Olson of Florissant, Mo.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and stepdaughter Prudence Botkin of Havre, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, a brother, one sister, a stepdaughter and a step-granddaughter.

Ralph Stear
Ex-Kearney resident, 80

KUNA, Idaho — Ralph Stear, 80, of Kuna, formerly of Kearney, Neb., died Saturday March 24, 2001, at his residence.

Graveside services were held today at Kuna Cemetery with memorial services following at Red Rock Christian Church in Boise.

Memorials are suggested to the Red Rock Christian Church Youth Scholarship Fund.

Arden Crandall
Overton resident, 72

ELWOOD — Arden R. "Art" Crandall, 72, of Overton died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Elwood Care Center in Elwood.

Arrangements are pending at Reynolds-Love Mortuary in Lexington.

Dianne Womack
Arapahoe resident, 58

LINCOLN — Dianne G. Womack, 58, of Arapahoe died following a brief illness Wednesday, May 30, 2001, in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp officiating. Burial will be at Arapahoe Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at Williamson-Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and before services Saturday at the church.

She was born icon June 7, 1942, at Chicago to George and Esther (Leising) Miller. She grew up in Chicago and worked as a file clerk for an insurance company for several years. She moved to Araphoe in 1983 where she worked as a certified nurse assistant for the past 16 years at C.A. Mues Nursing Home.

She was a member of the church in Arapahoe.

Survivors include her mother of Arapahoe and brother Norman Miller of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Lenna Hanna
Former Purdum resident, 76

GRAND ISLAND — Lenna R. Hanna, 76, of Grand Island, formerly of Purdum, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at Park Place Nursing Home in Grand Island.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Church of Christ in Purdum with the Rev. Tim Pearson officiating. Burial will be at the Purdum Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the church.

She was born icon Feb. 1, 1925, in Halsey to Clyde and Bertha (Glause) Anderson. She graduated from Halsey High School in 1942. She worked as a librarian at the Halsey Library. She also cooked for a hay crew in Ashby.

On Aug. 23, 1942, she married Marion Hanna in Hyannis. They lived on the Hanna Ranch at Purdum. She was a leader of 4-H and Girl Scouts and taught sewing and cooking. She enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the church.

Her husband died in 1984.

In 1999, she moved to Grand Island. She lived at Riverside Lodge and later at Park Place Nursing Home.

Survivors include her son, Marion of Grand Island; daughters, Dona Hawk of Grand Island, Crissie Wobig of Glenrock, Wyo., and Dalene of Purdum; brother, Donald Anderson of Lodgepole; sisters, Esther Shaw of Broken Bow, Pauline Richmond of Denver, Mary Wright of Grand Island, and Grace Longfellow of Alaska; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Lillie Krick
Minden resident, 97

MINDEN — Lillie Mae Krick, 97, of Minden died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Kearney County Health Services Long Term Care Unit.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Minden with the Rev. Kathy Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Layton Funeral Home.

She was born icon Aug. 18, 1904, to Lewis and Camilla (Hansen) Krick on a farm west of Lowell. The family moved to Liberty Township in 1908. She attended rural schools and Minden High School.

She taught country schools from 1924 to 1928. She attended Cotner College from 1928 to 1932. She taught school in Minden, Lowell and Kearney. She attended the University of Colorado and the University of Nebraska during summer sessions. She assisted the Warp Publishing Co. in Minden with the publication of review books.

She was a member of the church, enjoyed yardwork, flowers and poetry.

Survivors include her brother, Donald of Kearney; and sisters, Rose of Minden, Vera Anderson of Denver and Eula Marquis of Fredericksburg, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Marcella Hadenfeldt
Shelton resident, 75

KEARNEY — Marcella Hadenfeldt, 75, of Shelton died Friday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney.

Arrangements are pending with Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon and Shelton.
