KEARNEY - Stanley R. Walker, 67, of Lexington died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Arrangements are pending with Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Albert Schniepp
Former Holdrege resident, 79

OMAHA — Albert Kieth Schniepp, 79, of Fullerton, formerly of Holdrege, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.

Burial of cremains will be later at Industry Cemetery near Atlanta.

There will be no visitation.

Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of arrangements.

He was born icon April 24, 1925, in Bible Grove, Ill., to William and Ellen (Blair) Schniepp.

Survivors include sons, Raymond of Chicago and Donald of Fort Lupton, Colo.; daughters, Shirley Sonnenberg of LaPorte, Ind., Cheryl Nordgren of Gaylord, Mich., and Carol Bradford of LaPorte; sister, Willetta Pilcher of Edgewood, Ill.; brother, Kenneth Schniepp of Decatur, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Maurine L. Ross

94, Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday (8-3-10). Born (1-26-16) in Detroit, Michigan to Maurice and Blanche (Couturier) Martinson. She was a graduate of Elk Rapids, Michigan high school, received her BS in Education from Western State Teachers College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. married James Ross in 1941 who preceded her in death on March 12, 2010. Maurine taught secondary English, French, Latin and Algebra in Alpena, Michigan and Laramie, Wyoming. After moving to Lincoln she worked in the UNL Ticket office for 20 years. She especially enjoyed reading, playing cards, crosswords, Nebraska football, her “B & S Club, and trips back to Michigan for family reunions.

Visitation: No Visitation/Cremation

Service: Celebration of Maurine’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (8-6-10) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, Nebraska

Cemetery: Private graveside committal service.

Preceded in death by husband, James, sisters Mavis Smith and Denice Baldwin.

Thomas E. Long Jr.

89, Ashland, died Tuesday (11-23-10). Born (6-22-1921) in Wymore to Thomas Ellsworth and Alma Florence (Patton) Long, Sr. Retired Salesman for National Motor Club. Member of the Legion Club. He loved golf, Keno, horse racing, and playing pool.

Visitation: One hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (11-30-10) at Roper & Sons Chapel, 4300 'O' Street, Lincoln.

Family Gathering: One hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Cemetery: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for the Ashland Care Center c/o: Roper and Sons Funeral Services, 4300 'O' Street, Lincoln, NE 68510.

Family members include: Sister and Brother-in-law, Shirley Long Esquivel and Henry Esquivel of Lincoln; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Preceded in death by wife, Constance; parents, brothers, Darrell, Sr., Max M., and Ronald D. Long.

Ellamae C. McNeil

95, of Lincoln, died Wednesday November 24th, 2010 at Tabitha Nursing Home. Born in E. St. Louis, Ill., which her ancestors settled, Ellamae was raised in south St. Louis, Mo. She was a medical records secretary who worked in Las Vegas, Mesa Ariz., and Grand Island. After retirement in 1987, she began to compete in ballroom dancing, winning three trophies in her two years of active competition. Ellamae then began teaching line dancing at the Mesa Ariz. Senior Center. She continued teaching at the Downtown Senior Center in Lincoln after moving here in 1995 to be closer to her son and three grandchildren. Ellamae also served in various volunteer roles as a resident of Crossroads House in downtown Lincoln, where she lived until moving to Tabitha Nursing Home in 2006.

Visitation: No visitation.

Service: Memorial Service is planned for December 26, 2010 at the First Christian Church, 430 S. 16th Street, Lincoln where she was a lifetime member.

Family Gathering: See memorial service above.

Cemetery: Interment will be next to her beloved Carl in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis, Ill.

Memorials: None designated at this time.

She is survived by her son, Michael W. McNeil, and her grandchildren Jackson, Carson, and Glenna McNeil.

She was preceded in death by her beloved elder brother, Thomas Jones Cox, and her beloved husband, Carl W. McNeil, Jr.

Donna Jean Harned

Lincoln, NE, died Thursday (9-23-10). Born (8-6-54) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Gaylord Harrison and Iona Mae (Schamel) Harned. Worked as a Case Aide, State of Nebraska and Tier One Bank. Member: Fellowship Community Church, past member, First United Methodist Church. Avid sports/husker fan.

Visitation: No Visitation/Cremation

Service: 1:00 p.m. Sunday (9-26-10) Fellowship Community Church, 8601 Holdrege. Pastors George Cook and Renae Johnson officiating

Family members include sister, brother-in-law: Nancy and Todd Dondlinger, Lincoln; close friends: Cheryl and Ken Plank, Wanda and Keith Plank, Anna, Gary, Katrina and Brian Plank, all of Lincoln; aunts, uncles, cousins. Preceded in death by parents, brother Douglas Harned.

Marion (Pauline) Harmon Hoffman

81, Lincoln, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Pauline was born icon on June 27, 1929 to Cleo and Mildred (Sims) Harmon in Trumbull, Nebraska. She graduated from UNL with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and worked for Harrington Reality and ACTON. She was a long time active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, participating in leadership and guilds. Her community activities included Sigma Kappa, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Jobs Daughters and TTT.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Roper and Sons

Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (9-27-10) St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2325 South 24th Street. Fr. Craig Gavin officiating.

Family Gathering: Family greeting friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM

Cemetery: 4:00 p.m. burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska.

Memorials: Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association Lincoln/Greater Nebraska Chapter, 1500 South 70th, Suite 201, Lincoln, NE 68506 or the family for future designation.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother DeMet Harmon as well as grandson Michael Dick.

84, Lincoln, died Sunday (9-26-10). Born (1-26-26) in Whitehall, WI to Guy V. and Helen J. (Hoyt) Newcomer. Educator, Lincoln Public Schools and Arkansas Dept. of Education. Active in SAGE UNL Continuing Education; Gere Library teacher summer-reading program; Friends of Pioneers Park Nature Center; volunteer for toy and food program of the Salvation Army; former Lincoln Area Retired Teachers Association Board Member; Unitarian Church; Wooden Spoon; Alpha Xi Delta and UNL alumna; Cornhusker Doll Club; Lincoln Community Playhouse Guild Board; numerous community organizations.

Service: Memorial Service at Unitarian Church pending.

Robert J. "Bob" Stutzman

83, of Lincoln died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Tabitha Health Care Services. Bob was born icon July 24, 1927 in Chappell, Nebraska to Joe and Cora Stutzman. He was a civil engineer and spent his entire career with the Nebraska Department of Roads in McCook and Lincoln. When he retired in 1992, he was serving as the State Construction Engineer.

Visitation: No Visitation/Cremation

Service: Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Thursday (9-30-10) Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 'A' Street. Rev. Catherine Scott officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

Cemetery: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Church.

Survivors include his two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Dr. Kenneth King of Redding, California, and Cheryl and Col (Ret) Daniel Mumaugh of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, his wife Beverly of Lincoln, and her children Scott and Linda Raridon of St. Peters, Missouri, Todd and Julie Raridon of Plainfield, Illinois, and Cynthia Raridon of Lincoln. Grandchildren and their families include Lezlie and Justus Bacott and their three children, Jeremy and Lindsey Raridon, Mitchell Raridon, Derek Raridon, and Connor Raridon.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, and his three brothers, Harold, Bud and Cecil.

Robert D. Tucker

86, longtime resident of Lincoln, died Tuesday (8-31-10) in North Liberty, Iowa where he moved to in 2003. Born (12-29-23) in York, Nebraska to John A. and Zella M. (Henderson) Tucker. Ret. Painter, Lincoln Public Schools. WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Graduate of York High School (1941) and Lincoln Business School. married Dorothy A. Pickrel on 12-1-44. Active in Boy Scouts as a Scout and a Scout Master. Enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

Service: Graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9th in Greenwood Cemetery.

Family Gathering: A reception will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the York Senior Center guest room, 725 North Nebraska Avenue, York, Nebraska
