David James Foote
known as DJ by all who loved him. The 7 month old precious son of Luke and Kari (Holman) Foote of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed from this world (10-9-10) at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. DJ will be remembered forever as a beautiful child with a strong spirit who brought joy to everyone who knew him. We have been blessed to know and love him, and our hearts are forever changed.
Visitation: There will be a life celebration gathering where the family will greet friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at funeral home.
Service: A Memorial Service will be held on Friday (10-15-10) at 11:00 a.m. in the Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Roy E. Churchill
84, Lincoln, died Saturday (10-16-10). Born (3-13-26) in Ashland, Nebraska to Roy E. and Gladys C. (Scott) Churchill. Roy was a teacher and track coach at Southeast High School from its inception until his retirement. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Roy was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Kappa Sigma, Lincoln East Rotary, Habitat for Humanity and was a lifetime member of NEA. He was the voice announcer for the state high school basketball tournament for many years.

Avis Louise Worth
85, of Waverly, formerly of Grand Island, went to join the Lord and her beloved sisters, brothers and parents who preceded her in death. Anyone who met Avis would say she was the sweetest, kindest person they knew, but also a determined and courageous woman who loved the simple things in life, animals, and of course candy, and her family. Avis was born
in Ewing, Nebraska, graduated high school in 1942. In her youth, Avis was a school teacher in a one room school house at the age of 16. Later she went to Business School in Grand Island. She and her sisters then moved to Omaha where she worked in a bank. While in Omaha she met and married Hank Villalobos, and had one daughter Jeanne. Later in life Avis moved to Grand Island and worked with her brother, Alvin doing accounting. She met and married her second husband Harold Worth. Much later after Harold’s death she went to real estate school. In 2004 when Avis’s health began to fail she moved to Waverly with her daughter. Avis was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

With Avis’s passing comes to the end of one entire generation in the John Walter, Mary (Daniels) Walter family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Alvin Walter, sisters, Irene Lichty, Lavinia Stamp, Gladys Walter, and husband Harold Worth.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Walter of Waverly, grandson: Sean Walter Medcalf of Lincoln, nieces, Janet Walter and Pat Shriner, Wilda Blazek, nephews, Stan Walter, Dean

Evelyn Weidman
93, Lincoln, widow of Richard “Mickie” Weidman with whom she was married 68 years, passed away Friday (10-15-10). Born (5-5-17) in Chariton, Iowa to Fred and Jessie (Brennaman) Dunshee. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for 50+ years and Electa Chapter #8, O.E.S. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother with a collection of delicious recipes and a devoted Husker sports fan.

62, Lincoln, died Sunday (10-17-10). Born (9-25-48) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Raymond and Betty Jo (McVey) Campbell. Retired from ISCO after 17 years of service. Graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1967. Loved animals, especially her two dogs ‘Hoover’ a Doberman Pincher and ‘Buddy’ a Yellow Lab.

Sylvia Ethel (Trutna) Lopour
93, of Lincoln, died October 6, 2010. She was born
July 20, 1917 in Wahoo. Following graduation at 15 years of age, from Wahoo High School, she attended Luther College and obtained her teaching certificate. She spent the next six years teaching in a one-room country school before enlisting in the Women's Army Corp (WAC). She served as a WAC from 1943-1945 and was stationed in New Guinea. Following WWII, she worked in Lincoln at the State Capital.

She married George Daniel Lopour on February 2, 1951. They had three girls, Patricia Ann, Sharon Ann and Linda Sue. Sylvia was a dedicated and loving mother and volunteered in church and her children's activities as a Sunday School Teacher and as a leader for PTA, Brownie, Girl Scout and 4H. She and George spent many happy days with the Mariner 49ers at Second Presbyterian Church. She returned to work in 1956 at the Nebraska State Department of Health as a statistician. Upon retirement, she and George enjoyed travels with veterans of the CBI, attended activities of children and grandchildren, and supported church activities. She was a member of P.E.O. and the Women's Army Corps of Veterans Association.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Dr. Tom Macholan of Grand Rapids, Mich., Sharon and Mike Gollehon of Lincoln, and Linda and Dave Almery of Ceresco; grandchildren, Dr. Nathan Gollehon, Elizabeth (Macholan) Newton, Tanner Almery, Christina Macholan, Sarah (Almery) Malcolm and Jennifer Gollehon; sisters and brother-in-laws, Betty and Dr. Harold Hedlund and Marge and Robert McNare; great grandchildren, Corbin Gollehon and Hayden Malcolm. Arlene M. Wagner (Grossman)
86, was born
the 9th child to Oscar C. and Bertha Grossman on April 15, 1924 and died Friday, October 22, 2010. She was raised in the Reynolds, Nebraska area and graduated from the High School there. On February 6, 1942 she married William L. (Bill) Wagner. To this union 4 children were born. She lived most of her life in Fairbury then moved to Lincoln shortly after Bills death in 1979. She was a member of the Methodist Church since 13 years of age. Member of the United Methodist Women, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary # 131, DAV Auxiliary Chapter # 9, Order of Eastern Star #275 for many years. Volunteered at VA Hospital, was an avid bowler and loved playing cards.
