87, died Friday, November 5 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She was born icon May 17, 1923, to Blonnie and Ora Wiggs in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. Kathleen was the Assistant Director of the Learning Resource Center at Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas for 25 years, retiring in 1996.

Steven Michael Babel

26, Lincoln, died Sunday (11-7-10). Born (7-31-84) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Michael and Karen (Dye) Babel. 2003 Lincoln High School graduate. Loved fishing, hunting, video games, reading and anime.

75, Omaha, died Monday (11-8-10) in Omaha. Born (3-29-35) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Lewis Herbert and Maudie Ada (Wright) Kreuger. Ret. Secretary, Security Mutual Insurance Company. Member: Saint Paul United Methodist Church.

Jerome Everard Lyon

96, went home to his Savior and Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010. Born June 8, 1914 to Amos Hardesty and Lillian Edith (Foulke) Lyon in Fall River, Kanas. Jerome attended Charleston Grade School and graduated from Fall River High School. He grew up on a farm during the depression; loved his horses and hunting dogs. married Iris Annette Lindamood on June 25, 1939. To this union three sons were born: Dennis, Philip and Terry. The couple raised their children and lived a majority of their lives in Havelock. Jerome trained in sheet metal work in Swallow Aircraft in Wichita and taught aircraft sheetmetal at Milford Trade School; was a foreman at Glenn L. Martin Aircraft in Omaha where they build B-29’s (including the Enola Gay) during WWII. Moved to Lincoln after the war when Jerry took a position at Elgin Watch Company; later took a position as head of the sheetmetal department with the University of Nebraska physical plant. He worked there till his retirement in 1979. Jerome was a devoted husband and father, gardener, fisherman, and always creating something from metal or wood. After retirement, Jerome and Iris traveled extensively from California to Bangor, Maine; Alaska to Florida.

Service: Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (11-13-10) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Survivors include sons, Dennis J. and wife Gloria, of Lincoln, NE; Philip A. and wife Roxanne, Cottage Grove, MN; Terry L. and wife Kathleen, Rochester, MN; brother, Elden A. and wife Florence, Wellsville, KS; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two sisters.

Erwin Loyd Mealhow

84, Lincoln, died Wednesday (11-10-10). Born (11-21-25) in Sioux City, Iowa to Elmer and Ida (Hess) Mealhow. WWII Navy Veteran. Ret. Mechanical Engineer, A.D.M. Former owner/operator of service station at 70th & Havelock Ave.

Reinhold G. "Reinie" Heinbigner

86, Lincoln, NE, died Wednesday (11-10-10). Born (1-15-24) in Norfolk, Nebraska to Jacob and Anna M. (Herman) Heinbigner. Ret. 1983, Gamble & Robinson Co. 41 years. WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Member: Heritage Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 3, Eagles Lodge 147, Cornhusker Model A Ford Club, Early Ford V-8 Club, Eastern Nebraska Western Iowa Car Council (E.N.W.I.), Nebraska Corvette Association. Loved to fish and work on his cars.

Elsie Marie Hitz-Turner, a woman generous of heart, left her earthly home to join her heavenly father, Thursday, November 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Joseph; her son Michael; a son-in-law Larry; a sister and numerous brothers. Elsie leaves behind her husband Elvin of Lincoln; a son Franklin and wife Judy; daughter Patricia; all of Lincoln. Also daughters, Peggy and husband Daniel of Seward, Kathleen and husband Mark of Omaha; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 79 cherished day care children.
