Paul Woller
SUTTON -- Paul Victor Woller, 86, of Sutton died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Federated Church in Sutton. The Rev. Bill Jardine will officiate. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery with military rites conducted by Argonne American Legion Post of Sutton.
Memorials are suggested to the Sutton Education Foundation or the Sutton Community Home.
Kohler Mortuary of Sutton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Woller was born
May 1, 1914, in Chicago to the Rev. William C. and Emilie (Kautz) Woller. He graduated from Grand Island High School in 1932. He went on to receive his bachelor of arts degree in physical science from Hastings College in 1939 and his master's degree in physical science from Northern Colorado University.
On June 30, 1940, he married Carolyn (Connie) D. Marsh in Grand Island. He taught school in Hemingford, Millikin, Colo., and Cortez, Colo.
He then served in the United States Army 109th EVAC Hospital in the European Theater during World War II.
After the war, he and his family moved to Sutton, where he taught physical science and math until he was promoted to principal, an office he held for 30 years.
He was a member of the Federated Church, served as its choir director for 25 years, served on the board of trustees for the church, served on the Business Management Board and was a lay delegate to the annual conference for the United Church of Christ.
Mr. Woller served two terms on the United Church of Christ board of directors and Finance Committee, and was president of the Congregational Layman's Fellowship.
He also served on the Sutton City Council and one term as mayor of Sutton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul B. of St. Michaels, Md., and Bruce A. of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Ruth Whiteside of Denver; a brother, Roland of Denver; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Emma Anderson
PHOENIX -- Emma "Jeanne" Anderson, 69, of Phoenix, formerly of the Polk area, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center n Omaha while awaiting a possible liver transplant.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Polk. The Rev. Jeffery Thurman will officiate. Burial will be in the Polk Cemetery.
Solt Funeral Home in Polk is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Anderson was born
July 9, 1931, in Hastings to Lyman and Anna (Koenig) Aker. She attended school in Harvard through the sixth grade, then graduated from Polk High School in 1948. After graduation, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
On March 10, 1951, she married Eric LeRoy "Lee" Anderson in Lincoln. They lived in Polk until Mr. Anderson joined the service in 1952. They lived in New Jersey and New York until he was discharged from the service.
They then moved to Harvard and farmed her family's farm for two years. They farmed near Polk until 1971.
While living in the Polk area, she worked for a bank in York, for the Nebraska Natural Gas Co. and for the state Fish and Wildlife Department in Grand Island.
In 1971, they moved to Atoka, Okla., where they owned and operated the Thunderbird Lodge Motel for 18 years. At this time she returned to school and received her bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. She worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Oklahoma for three years and then transferred to California.
They lived in Los Angeles and San Bernadino for two years, where she continued to work for the federal government at the bureau. For the last nine years, they lived in St. Paul, Minn., where she worked for the Corps of Engineers, which included a short stint in Germany. They moved to Phoenix in June 1999.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Polk and the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 160. She received recognition for more than 20 years of employment with the U.S. government. She loved cooking and growing flowers.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Tonya of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Lisa and Jill, both of Phoenix; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorna Wenta and Mary Rice, and two brothers, Louis and Bill Aker.
Anita Brown
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Anita L. Brown, 51, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Wood River, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at her home in Charlotte.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Wood River. The Rev. Rose Bartleson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River.
Memorials are suggested to the Wood River Foundation or the Wood River Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Brown was born
July 30, 1948, in Kilgore, Texas, to Curtis and Thelma Hinton. She graduated from Linden High School in Linden, Kan.
She married Phil Watts on July 24, 1966, in Sidney. The couple moved to Wood River in 1967. She was employed by Treasure City and Eakes Office in Grand Island.
Mr. Watts died in 1982. She moved to Hastings in 1985 and continued to work for Eakes. In 1987 she moved to Lincoln and worked for Business World Products. In 1989 she moved to Chicago, where she worked for IBICO selling office products.
She married Taylor Brown in October 1990 in Wood River. The couple lived in Chicago until 1998, when they moved to Charlotte.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Phil Watts of Wood River; her mother, Thelma Hinton of Alabama; three brothers, Billy Hinton of Kimball, Curtis Richard Hinton of Louisiana and Curtis Lee Hinton of Alabama; five sisters, Betty Hannah of Kansas, Nancy Wolf of Alabama, Pat Weatherly of Texas, Sandy Hinton of Alabama and Fayerene Jiles of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband she was preceded in death by one son, Boomer, and two brothers, Paul Hinton and John Lee Hinton.
Walter Fosbury
AUSTIN, Texas -- Walter Joseph Fosbury, 83, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Clarks, died July 24, 2000, in Austin.
Graveside services were held at the Clarks Cemetery on Friday. Solt Funeral Home of Central City was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fosbury was born
in Clarks to William and Mamie Fosbury. He grew up in Clarks and graduated from Clarks High School. He had lived in El Paso, Texas, where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the church choir and the Coronado Country Club. He later moved to Austin.
Survivors include his second wife, Dorothy of Austin; his son, Jay Fosbury; a daughter, Lynne Houghton of El Paso; one sister, Evelyn Fosbury of Lincoln; five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded by his first wife, Anne.
Lyle Davies
AURORA -- Lyle C. Davies, 87, of Aurora died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Memorial Long Term in Aurora.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ Church in Aurora. The Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Davies was born
Oct. 13, 1912, in Aurora to James and Charlotte (Beins) Davies. He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1931.
After graduating, he farmed with his father. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps in the China, Burma and India Theater for two years.
He married Nellie Silvernail on Dec. 1, 1945. They moved to the family farm south of Aurora, farmed until they retired and moved into town in May 1980.
He was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, American Legion Post No. 42 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4993.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie; two daughters, Charlotte (Mrs. Ralph) Smith of London, Ky., and Judy (Mrs. Terry) Wendt of Omaha; three grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth (Mrs. Irvin) Lewis of Sierra Madre, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Fae Hartman and Lois Huff.
Scott Shimmin
DANNEBROG -- Scott J. Shimmin, 36, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in a roofing accident in Fairbury.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Family Center in Dannebrog. The Rev. Barry Arndt will officiate. Burial will be at the Oakridge Cemetery in Dannebrog. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday at the First Baptist Family Center.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mr. Shimmin was born
Dec. 6, 1963, in Mullen to Allen and Jean Stevenson Shimmon. He graduated from Mullen High School in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years. After his discharge, he attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte. He later moved to Lincoln.
He married Lori Boyd on Aug. 13, 1986, in Lincoln. The couple lived in Lincoln, and Mr. Shimmin worked at various jobs. They moved to Fullerton, where he was employed by the Christensen Cattle Company. The couple later moved to Central City, where Mr. Shimmin was employed by Atlantic Homes until 1991.
He then formed the Dunwell, Inc. construction company. In 1994, the couple moved to Dannebrog, where Mr. Shimmin continued to operate his business.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dannebrog.
He enjoyed hunting and electronics.
Survivors include his wife, Lori of Dannebrog; a daughter, Pamela at home; two sons, Timothy and Bethany at home; his parents, Allen and Jean Shimmin of Tryon; two sisters, Connie (Mrs. Mike) Hernandez of Spring Hill, Kan., and Sally Dorrough of St. Francis, Kan.; and two brothers, Douglas of North Platte and Michael of Tryon.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jerri Tidyman.
Margaret Wynne
ALBION -- Margaret Orpha "Bunnie" Wynne, 101, of Albion died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. The Rev. Kevin McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mrs. Wynne was born
April 30, 1899, on the family farm near Shelby to William Houston and Susan Matura (Bull) Vaughn. In 1901 the family moved to a farm southwest of Fullerton. She attended Nance County School District No. 66 and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1919. After graduation, she taught in rural schools for several years.
On Feb. 19, 1924, she married Walter Fielden Wynne in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They briefly lived in Bayshore, N.Y., and then returned to Omaha, where she lived most of her married life. She was a housewife and mother. Mr. Wynne died in 1969.
In June 1975 she moved back to Fullerton. In March 1988 she moved to the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Virginia (Mrs. Melvin) Storm of Albion; a son, Donald William Wynne of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nell Tallon of Columbus.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Agnes Bilyeu
CHADRON -- Agnes Marie Bilyeu, 77, of Chadron died Monday, July 31, 2000, at the Chadron Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Episcopal Church in Chadron. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Chadron Rescue Unit.
Mrs. Bilyeu was born
Nov. 2, 1922, to Homer and Alida Cogdill near Chadron on her parents' farm on Bordeaux Creek. She attended grade school at the Lockett School and high school at Chadron High School. She also attended Chadron State College.
On Sept. 25, 1942, she married Lynn Bilyeu at Atlantic City. She worked for many years as a legal secretary, retiring in 1984.
She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Chadron.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Fran (Mrs. Jim) Grimes of Grand Island and Roxie (Mrs. Dennis) Schmitz of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one infant sister; five brothers; and one infant son.
