Randy Wordekemper
Jordan Wordekemper

Funeral services for Randy Thomas Wordekemper, 38, and Jordan Thomas Wordekemper, 3, were Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Omaha. Father Jerry Stessman officiated. Con celebrants were Father Bill Bond, Father Gary Ostrander, Father Damien Cook and Father Pat McCaslin.

Randy and Jordan died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, from injuries sustained in a car accident east of Elkhorn.

Pallbearers for Randy were Dale Lofgren, Jeff Schlecht, Bruce Schlecht, Dave Lueckenhoff, Dave Ridder and Tom Kreikemeier. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Linnenbrink and Corey Peatrowsky.

Pallbears for Jordan were stepbrothers, Joe, James and Jon Steuter and cousins Jonathan Neuvirth, Nathan Neuvirth and Tyler Shreve.

Randy was born Feb. 28, 1961, in West Point to Thomas and Mary Ann (Heimann) Wordekemper. He attended Pebble Valley grade school and graduated from West Point Central Catholic High School in 1979. For several years Randy coached American Legion baseball in West Point. He received his bachelor degree in business from the University of Nebraska, Omaha in May of 1994. He was employed at Lozier Corporation as a traffic supervisor. He also worked at Von Maur at the Westroads.

Jordan was born Nov. 27, 1995, to Randy and Mary Jo Wall Steuter. He attended Creative Learning Center in Omaha. He loved playing football, baseball and basketball with his dad. In September of 1999, Randy, Mary Jo and Jordan moved to Elkhorn.

Randy is survived by his fiancee, Mary Jo Steuter of Elkhorn; parents Thomas H. and Mary Ann Wordekemper, Omaha; brothers Rodney Wordekemper, Russell Wordekemper, Phoenix, Ariz., Patrick and Susan Wordekemper, Bronson, Iowa; sisters LeAnn Shreve, Lincoln, Jodi and Mike Neuvirth, West Point, Gail Wordekemper, Lenexa, Kan., and Kelli Wordekemper, Lincoln; grandparents Victor and Emma Heimann, Snyder; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ben and Elizabeth Wordekemper.

Jordan is survived by his mother Mary Jo Steuter, Elkhorn; grandparents Thomas H. and Mary Ann Wordekemper, Don and Rita Wall, all of Omaha; great grandparents Maynard and Agnes Wall, Omaha, Emma and Victor Heimann, Snyder; stepbrothers Joe Steuter, James Steuter and Jon Steuter; stepsister Jackie Steuter, all of West Point; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Ben and Elizabeth Wordkemper and Leonard and Isabelle Stessman.

Memorials may be made to St. Leo Catholic Church, St. Gerald Catholic Church or St. Cecilia Cathedral.

Joyce Kreikemeier

Joyce Kreikemeier, 62, Snyder, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Parkview Home in Dodge. Funeral services for Joyce were Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Snyder. Father Dan Galas officiated with burial in St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery, Snyder.

Pallbearers were Jason Chapman, Marc Chapman, Tim Chapman, Bruce Kreikemeier, Jason Kreikemeier and Dave Pieper.

Joyce was born July 31, 1937, at North Bend to William and Elsie (Faist) Chapman. She was a 1954 graduate of North Bend High School. She also graduated from Wayne State Teachers College. She was a certified catechist and received her education in that field from Creighton University. She was a member of St. Leo’s Church Choir, member of the Religious Leaders and Coordinators of Omaha Rural (RELCOR), member of the Catechist Certification Committee of the Omaha Archdiocese, received the Outstanding Religous Educator of the Year Award of the Omaha Archdiocese in 1989; was a member of the Franciscan Home Health Hospice Board, West Point; and was a member of the Modern Belles extension club. She was a member of St. Leo’s Parish Council for 40 years. She also taught school in North Bend for several years. She married Marvin Kreikemeier on May 29, 1958, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. She and her husband were engaged in farming and cattle raising north of Snyder where she resided to the present time. She also had been Director of Religous Education at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder for 30 years and retired in 1999.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin; daugthers, Sue (Mrs. Dan) Kassmeier, Fremont, Barb (Mrs. Cary) Becker, Omaha, Carol (Mrs. Steven) Poulson, Omaha, Denise (Mrs. Brock) Goddard, Omaha; sons Mike and wife Mary Kay Kreikemeier, Lincoln, Bill and wife, Connie Kreikemeier, Snyder, and Keith and wife Jeni Kreikemeier, Dodge; 14 grandchildren; four brothers and spouses Bob and Terry Chapman, Fremont, Don and Beverly Chapman, Omaha, Larry and Judy Chapman, Signal Mountain, Tenn. Dick and Linda Chapman, Omaha; two sisters-in-law, Chris Chapman, Lincoln and Jane Carmichael, North Bend.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ken and Bill Chapman.

Donald Larsen
Donald Arthur Larsen, 66, Bancroft died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at the Pender Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. Rev. Terry Daberkow officiated. Burial was in the Bancroft Cemetery.

Sylvia Zakovec
Sylvia J. Zakovec, 82, Dodge, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Fremont Area Medical Center. Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church, Dodge. Father Dan Wittrock officiated with burial in Killian Cemetery, rural Morse Bluff. Pallbearers were Don Holub, Mark Holub, Roger Holub, Marvin Vech, Gaylen Goeller, John Zakovec, Roland Zakovec, Mike Gellerman and Francis Zakovec.

Thomas Krutilek
Thomas Krutilek, 44, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at the NHS/Clarkson Hospital in Omaha following a sudden illness. Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. Rev. Mark Eldal officated with burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland. Pallbearers were David Fischer, Brian Woerman, Glen Dirskschneider, Dennis Niewohner, James Flynn and Rick Sake. Honorary pallbearers were Larry VanBuren, John Flynn, Dennis Metz, Glen Kahlandt, Warren Kahlandt, Robert Kahlandt, Jerry George, Ralph VanBuren, John McGowan and Charlie Schulz.

Stanley Johnson
Stanley C. Johnson, 78, Oakland, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Salem Covenant Church in Oakland. Rev. R. Michael Gillett officiated with burial in the Oakland Cemetery. Casketbearers were Aaron Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Mark Erickson, Tim Erickson, Doug Erickson, Lonnie Uman and Duane Osten. Honorary casketbearers were Maynard Erickson, Eldon Erickson, Marland Erickson, Milton Uman, Trexton Smith, Lyle Enstrom, Bernard Monson and Willmer Moseman.

Elvera Lierman
Funeral services for Elvera Lierman, 78, West Point, were Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. Pastor Roger Schepmann officiated. Burial was at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beemer. Elvera died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Pallbearers were Norbert Holtz, Kendall Holtz, Daniel Beerbohm, Harvey Holtz, Roger Holtz and Matthew Ripp. Honoray pallbearers were Bud Holtz, Loren Leimer, Dan Holtz and Michael Blackwell.

Merlyn Nelson
Merlyn D. Nelson, 71, Oakland, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Wednesday (today) Oct. 25, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. Rev. Robert E. Call officiated with burial in the Westside Cemetery, rural Oakland. Pallbearers were Andrew Nelson, Ryan Brummond, Matt Dinslage, Jared Dinslage, Jordon Dinslage and Jeff Gall.

Lillian Johnson
Lillian E. Johnson, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000. Funeral services were Wednesday (today) Oct. 25, 2000, at Rozanek and Son Colonial Chapel, Fremont. Pastor Michael Thomas of Salem Lutheran Church officiated with burial in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Pallbearers were Duane Benne, Dan Lux, David Lux, Ron Pronske and Mike Ronhovde.

Mabel Chapman
Mabel F. Chapman, 98, North Bend, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Crete Manor, Crete. Funeral services are Wednesday (today), Oct. 25, 2000, at St. Charles Catholic Church, North Bend. Father Tom Sellentin officiated with burial at Woodland Cemetery, North Bend. Pallbearers were Mike and Dan Ulrich, Terry, Doug, Greg, Bill, Edward and Tommy Chapman.

Raymond Barker
Raymond Dean Barker, 64, Scribner, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at St. Francis Mermorial Hospital in West Point. Memorial services were Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey, west of West Point. Rev. Dennis DeGuzman officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Frank Stuchlik
Frank J. Stuchlik, 92, West Point, formerly of Bonner Springs, Kan., died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at the West Point Living Center. Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague with Rev. Ronald Homes as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Gwen Wostoupal
Gwen D. Wostoupal died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. A memorial service was held Sept. 20, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church.

Harold Ellebracht
Harold A. Ellebracht, 89, Pilot Grove, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Katy Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, Mo. Rev. Father Eric Schlachter officiated with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Ellebracht, Clint Rybak, Tom Sonthemeier, Pat Korte, Greg Zitko, Jeff Marren and Joe Ellebracht.

Walter Ellebracht

Walter Thomas Ellebracht, 19, Lee Summit, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Research Medical Center in Missouri. Survivors include his parents of ; a son Benjamin Thomas Carlyle-Ellebrecht; two sisters Bridget and Lily and several aunts and uncles including Mildred Mashek of Oakland.

Anna Ellebracht
Anna Marie Ellebracht, 17, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Independence Regional Medical Center in Missouri. Survivors include her parents Vince and Donna Ellebracht of Lee Summit, Mo.; two sisters Bridget and Lily; and several aunts and uncles including Mildred Mashek of Oakland.

Louise Hasenkamp
Louise Hasenkamp, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at the Stanton Health Center, Stanton. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Faith Lutheran Church, Stanton. Rev. Timothy Booth officiated with burial in the Stanton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Thompson, Dan Fassnacht, Dan Porter, Lynn Hasenkamp, David Schuetze and Edward Drieling. Honorary pallbearers were Clifford (Kip) Hasenkamp, Roger Hasenkamp, Ken Wiechman, Lorna Schuster and Karen Hookstra.

William (Maurie) Anderson
William Maurice (Maurie) Anderson, 77, West Point died, Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Trinity Church, West Point. Rev. JC Browne officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Leo Siebrandt, Donald Nielsen, Robert Plagge, Richard Graybeal, Henry Stalp, Leonard Prinz and David Knievel.

Ethel Heuston
Ethel Heuston, 84, Bancroft, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at her home in Bancroft. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial was in the Bancroft Cemetery.

Marcia Hoffmann
Marcia Hoffmann, 87, Webster Groves, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, after a brief illness. A memorial service was held Nov. 20, 2000, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Kirkwood, Mo.

Virginia Glassburn
Virginia M. Glassburn, 82, of Sidney, Neb., died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999 at her son’s home in Alliance following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 29, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Aten and Pastor Rick Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in care of the First United Methodist Church in Sidney or to Camp Rock at Redington.

Virginia was born near Bridgeport on Feb. 26, 1917. She was the eldest daughter of Myers and Maurice (Mitchell) Hobbs. She attended school in Bridgeport. Her life’s career was teaching in the country schools. She taught 21 years in Morrill County, Cheyenne County and Scotts Bluff County.

On June 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to Milan E. Glassburn in Bridgeport, Neb. They spent 43 years together.

Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former member of the M.I.C. and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: a son, Richard Glassburn and his wife Ruth of Alliance, Neb.; 4 grandchildren, Kevin, Rebecca, Jennifer and William; a great granddaughter, Bryclyn Leigh; a sister-in-law, Lena Hobbs of Independence, MO; a brother-in-law, George Leese of Chicago, IL, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in deathy by her parets, her husband, a sister Thelma Leese, and a brother Thornton Hobbs.

Holecheck Funeral Home, Sidney, is in charge of the arrangements.
