Frances M. Krajewski
Frances M. Krajewski, 90, of Grand Island died Friday, July 2, 1999, at Lakeview Nursing/Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday with a rosary with the Catholic Daughters at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or St. Francis hospice.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Krajewski was born
June 29, 1909, in Sherman County to Bernard and Agnes (Stish) Krajewski. She grew up and attended school in Sherman County. She graduated from Ashton High School.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Court Queen of Peace 2227, Altar Society, R.S.D.P. and was promoted from silver to bronze level.
Survivors include a sister, Theresa Johnson of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Mildred L. Frazier
KEARNEY -- Mildred L. Frazier, 90, of Gibbon died Friday, July 2, 1999, at the Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gibbon Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to services Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the church or hospice program.
Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frazier was born
June 23, 1909, on a farm north of Gibbon to James and Viola (Wallace) Vogt. She grew up and attended country school in Gibbon and later attended Ravenna High School. She moved to a farm west of Gibbon in 1929.
She married Lloyd Frazier on Jan. 1, 1937, at Gibbon. They lived on a farm west of Gibbon.
She was a member of Gibbon Baptist Church, Pioneer Extension Club of Gibbon and American Baptist Women.
Survivors include three sons, Duane of Gibbon; Dave of Wahoo and Doyle of Stromsburg; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Louie) Valdez and Doris Ripp, both of Gibbon; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister.

Verna Mary Farber
AINSWORTH -- Verna Mary Farber, 83, of Ainsworth died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, in Burwell.
Services were held Saturday, July 3, 1999 at the United Methodist Church in Ainsworth. The Rev. Gerald H. Schwarz officiated. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery near Ainsworth.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Farber was born
Aug. 21, 1915, northwest of Ainsworth to Lewis Edward and Jeanette Dorothea Bratthauer. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1933. She was employed at JC Penney, Variety Store and the Kiehl Bakery.
She married John Virgil Farber Jr. on Oct. 22, 1939. They ran the Ainsworth Bakery for 42 years. She lived with her daughter, Marie, following her husband's death and moved to the IHS Care Center in Ainsworth in 1998. She spent the past few months at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
She was a member of Ainsworth United Methodist Church and Wesleyan Service Guild. She enjoyed fishing, camping and taking care of grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Mrs. Ben) Boerger of Grand Island and Marie Dodd of Ainsworth; two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Charles) Richardson Jr. of Ainsworth and Audrey (Mrs. Frank) Dee of Columbus; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford.
Betty Brumbaugh
Betty Brumbaugh, 73, of Grand Island died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at her home.
Services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Richard DeBacker
Richard L. DeBacker, 75, of Grand Island died Friday, June 23, 2000, at his home after an illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church with a rosary/wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Central Catholic Foundation or St. Mary's Parish Building Fund.

Mr. DeBacker was born
Sept. 9, 1924, to Dr. Leopold and Geraldine (O'Malley) DeBacker at Omaha. He lived with his parents in Hastings and graduated from Regis High School in Denver. He attended Creighton University in Omaha for one year, then joined the U.S. Navy and completed flight officer training as the war ended. He was discharged on May 6, 1946.
He returned to college at Creighton, where he graduated with a juris doctor degree in 1950 and admitted to practice in state and federal courts. He served as a delegate for the Democratic National Convention in 1960.
He married Patricia "Pat" Lynch on Sept. 4, 1946, at Hastings. They moved to Grand Island in 1956, where he practiced law. He served as Hall County attorney from 1962 to 1966 and as a judge in Nebraska Court of Industrial Relations from 1970 to 1978. He served as a Hall/Howard county judge from 1978 to 1982, and as 11th Judicial District judge from 1982 to 1986.
He formed North Central Court Referral in 1978, which merged with St. Francis Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in 1998.
He was involved in the formation of Central Catholic High School. He served on the school board for 12 years and as board president for four terms.
He served on the boards of St. Francis Medical Center and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was elected grand knight of Knights of Columbus in 1960, and was a member of Delta Theta Phi law fraternity.
He dedicated his life to community service, and was a man of faith.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard "Jerry" of Helena, Mont., John of Grand Island and William "Bill" of Shoreview, Minn.; seven daughters, Susan (Mrs. George) Crump of Reston, Va., Patrice "Tricie" (Mrs. John Mike) Downey of Butte, Mont., Janet (Mrs. Jim) Facciano and Dianne (Mrs. Pat) Sullivan, both of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Laura (Mrs. Tom) McAloon of Spokane, Wash., Julia (Mrs. Kelly) Wolfe of Lincoln and Joyce (Mrs. Jack) Schmoll of Seattle; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Miner; three brothers, Leo, David and Robert; and three sisters, Geraldine, Martha and Judy.
Louis Helzer
Louis L. Helzer, 95, of Grand Island died Saturday, June 24, 2000 at Park Place Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. C. Roger Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Eagles Cancer Fund or the family's choice.
Mr. Helzer was born
March 27, 1905, to Jacob and Katherine (Sittner) Helzer in Hastings, where he attended school.
He worked for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, then at the Hastings Tribune as a pressman and typesetter.
He married Bertha P. Williams on Feb. 17, 1930, in Smith Center, Kan. They moved in 1943 to Grand Island, where he worked for Bish Machine Co. as parts manager until he retired in 1972.
He then worked as a parts runner for Red Rooster Sales and was assistant manager of Grand View Apartments. Mrs. Helzer died Dec. 9, 1974.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Eagles ritual team. He was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving in various offices at the local and state level.
Survivors include two sons, Jay of Grand Island and Richard of Hastings; six daughters, Dixie (Mrs. Art) Ostermeier, Marilyn (Mrs. Danford) Stout, Golda (Mrs. Harold) Bockbrader and Judy (Mrs. Vernon) Engel, all of Grand Island, Kathleen (Mrs. John) McCrellias of Lead, S.D. and Marilou (Mrs. Bob) Baldwin of Wheatland, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Phinney of Hastings and special friend, Margaret Killion of Grand Island.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, David; three brothers, Sam, Jacob, and Mac; and two sisters, Sara Motley and Maria Esmay.
Irvine Meves
Irvine P. Meves, 95, of Grand Island died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at his home after an illness.
Services are pending at Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Anna Bourn
FULLERTON -- Anna E. Bourn, 96, of Fullerton died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton. The Rev. Timothy Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Mrs. Bourn was born
Nov. 14, 1903, to Fred and Wilhemena (Bornamen) Naeve in Albion. She and her family moved to Belgrade when she was young. She attended rural schools there.
She married Lester Bourn on Aug. 19, 1929, at Cedar Rapids. They lived and farmed in Cedar Rapids. They retired in 1974 and moved to Fullerton.
Mr. Bourn died Jan. 12, 1988. She entered Integrated Health Services in Central City in 1995.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton, where she taught Sunday school for 15 years, and the church's Ladies Aid. She also was a past member of two card clubs.
She enjoyed embroidery, tatting and cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Lester Jr. and Billy, both of Fullerton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Morris of Grant.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louie and George and three sisters, Martha Naeve, Lena Hellbusch and Minnie Tschudin.
John Gard
ORD -- John S. Gard, 83, of Ord died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Grand Island Veterans Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Mr. Gard was cremated. Burial will take place at a later date at East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center, Wis.
Doyal Keller
SCOTIA -- Doyal Keller, 73, retired Greeley County sheriff, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Services are pending with Ord Memorial Chapel.
Leola Eschliman Waggoner
CENTRAL CITY -- Leola Eschliman Waggoner, 88, of Central City died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Integrated Health Services in Central City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Bible Church in Central City. The Rev. Gil Larsen will officiate. Burial will be in Pierce Chapel Cemetery near Clarks.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City.
