Jeanine Swanson
ST. PAUL -- Jeanine M. Swanson, 67, of St. Paul died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Mrs. Swanson was cremated.
Services will be at 10 a.m. May 31 at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas G. Hyde will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of Paul Swanson of St. Paul.

Mrs. Swanson was born
on Feb. 24, 1933, at St. Paul to Henry and Pauline (Kotrch) Kilpatrick. She was educated in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul School in 1950. She then attended Hastings College.
She married Paul Swanson on Aug. 5, 1956, at Trinity Methodist Church in Grand Island. The couple lived in Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota, where she worked as a bookkeeper and taught music. For 20 years, the couple lived in Lincoln, where she was a bookkeeper for Hoppe Manufacturing and AAA Roofing. Upon retirement, the couple moved to St. Paul in 1995.
Mrs. Swanson was a member of the United Methodist Church of St. Paul.
She enjoyed singing, flower gardening and hiking.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Dr. Kristi (Mrs. Bobby) Harkins of Madrid, Iowa; a son, Jeffrey M. Swanson of Waverly; five grandchildren; her mother, Pauline Kilpatrick Kimber and stepfather, Earl Kimber of St. Paul; and a sister, Elaine (Mrs. Warren) Ziettlow of Midland, Mich.
Robert Johnson
ALMA -- Robert D. Johnson, 69, of Alma died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Free Church in Orleans. The Rev. Daryl Walling will officiate. Burial will be in the Orleans Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Orleans.
Nelson Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson was born
on June 14, 1930, at Kearney to Roy Elmer and Flossie Rosella (Lash) Johnson. The family moved in 1937 to Orleans, where he attended school.
He worked for the CBQ Railway for three years, beginning when he was 18. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and was stationed in Japan until 1953. He was discharged and returned to Orleans. He resumed his employment with the railroad for 43 years.
He married Stella Haugen on July 31, 1954, in Phillipsburg, Kan. They lived in Orleans through most of their marriage.
He enjoyed reading about history and playing solitaire and was an avid Cornhusker fan.
Survivors include his wife, of Orleans; a son, Larry Johnson of Hampton; two daughters, Janet (Mrs. Ronald) Baxa of Rushford, Minn., and Barbara (Mrs. John) Steinmann III of Chapman; four grandchildren; two brothers, Warren Johnson of Orleans and Wayne Johnson of Chico, Calif.; and a sister, Beverly (Mrs. Bill) Boston of Alma.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred (Mrs. Virgil) Middagh; and a brother, Harold Johnson.
'Kas' Kasper
COLUMBUS -- Dwight "Kas" M. Kasper, 62, of Columbus died Monday, May 22, 2000, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. The Rev. Dave Patterson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mr. Kasper was born
on Jan. 26, 1938, at Columbus to Rudolph and May (Lusche) Kasper. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1956.
He married Phyllis Reigle-Young on Dec. 31, 1984, in Yankton, S.D. He drove a truck for Hull and Smith Van Co. He also trained horses and worked as a starter for the Nebraska Racing Association.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, David J. Young of Columbus; two stepdaughters, Lynn (Mrs. Rick) Hellbusch of Bellwood and Julie Krzycki of Columbus; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill Kasper of Fremont and Gary Kasper of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ryan Peterson
LINCOLN -- Ryan Dean Peterson, 23, of Lincoln, formerly of Sargent, was killed in a car accident Monday, May 22, 2000, on the outskirts of Lincoln.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Sargent High School auditorium. The Rev. Mark Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell.
Rhoad Funeral Home of Sargent is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Armstrong
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Margaret Alice Armstrong, 91, of Olympia, Wash., formerly of Ord, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Capital Place in Olympia.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Ord. The Rev. David Stipp will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Armstrong was born
on Dec. 1, 1908, in Margate, Kent, England, to Sidney Richard and Margaret (Peasley) Fuller. She was brought by her family to the United States as an infant. The family lived in Palisade, Colo., before moving to Alliance. Until her father's death in 1919, summers were spent on a homestead in Gillette, Wyo. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1927.
She married Duane E. Armstrong on Nov. 8, 1934, and they moved to Hastings, where she was a homemaker. In 1945, the family moved to Ord. After her husband died on Oct. 5, 1983, she remained in Ord until 1991, when she moved to Olympia to be closer to her family.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and PEO in Ord.
Survivors include a son, Richard of Olympia; and a grandson.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian; and a brother, Richard.
Agnes Stobbe
Agnes A. Stobbe, 79, of Grand Island died Sunday, May 14, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services are pending. Curran Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
Alberta Cain
WHITEWATER, Kan. -- Alberta Marie Cain, 83, of Whitewater, Kan., died Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Garbiel's Church in Hazard with the Rev. Loren Pohlmeier officiating. Burial will be in the Hazard Cemetery. A wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Nettie L. Ruff, 81, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Skilled Nursing Unit of St. Francis Hospital.

James Adam
RAVENNA -- James Adam, 67, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at his home south of Ravenna.
Services are pending with Rasmussen Mortuary of Ravenna.
W. Lee Bennett
GIBBON -- W. Lee Bennett, 61, of Gibbon died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Goberson Mortuary in Gibbon. The Rev. Ron Roemmich will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Mr. Bennett was born
at Kearney to Walter R. and Bernice B. (Bettinger) Bennett. He grew up on farms north and southeast of Gibbon and attended rural District 5 School. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1957.
He married Marla Baily on June 8, 1958, in Gibbon. They lived on a farm south of Gibbon until Mr. Bennett's retirement.
He was a member of the Gibbon Old Settlers Association.
Survivors include two sons, Scott of Kearney and Kent of Rocksprings, Wyo.; a daughter, Brenda Sigler of Cozad; five grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Bennett-Case of Minden.
He was preceded in death by a son, James.
Elizabeth Brabander
ST. LIBORY -- Elizabeth A. Brabander, 78, of St. Libory died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Libory's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. parish rosary, Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church, St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department or St. Libory Quick Response Team.
