Virginia Cole
SHELTON -- Virginia L. Cole, 77, of Shelton died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Platte Valley Academy Chapel in Shelton. The Rev. Randy Brehms will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the academy chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. Cole was born
on March 3, 1923, at Shelton to Charles H. and Emma L. (Gray) Moore. She graduated from Shelton High School in 1940.
She married James J. Cole on March 27, 1948, in Gibbon. They lived in Shelton.
Mrs. Cole was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and attended the Platte Valley Academy Chapel.
She enjoyed making baby quilts and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James R. of Gibbon; two daughters, Corder of Kannapolis, N.C., and Sally Webb of Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Moore of Kearney.
She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
John Hochreiter
RAVENNA -- John "Jack" Hochreiter, 74, of Ravenna died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at his home.
Services are pending with Rasmussen Mortuary of Ravenna.
Robert Schrup
BURWELL -- Robert Henry Schrup, 81, of Burwell died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burwell. The Rev. Greg Volzke will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Burwell Ambulance Fund.
Edith Senff
BROKEN BOW -- Edith Senff, 90, of Broken Bow, formerly of Litchfield, died March 30, 2000, at Sandhills Manor in Broken Bow.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Litchfield Cemetery. Those attending should meet at the United Methodist Church in Litchfield before service time. The Rev. Heidi Revelo will officiate.
Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Senff was born
on Dec. 10, 1909, at Mason City to Edward and Effie (Chase) Gill. She was educated in Mason City.
She married Albert Senff. They lived in Litchfield.
Mrs. Senff was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Ladine Emery of Woodland, Calif.; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Senff of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
Glenn Ummel
CAIRO -- Glenn Ummel, 83, of Cairo died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Cairo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Alan Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery south of Cairo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Cairo.
Memorials are suggested to the families choice.
Mr. Ummel was born
Sept. 29, 1916, at Litchfield to Albert and Lola (Parkhurst) Ummel. His mother died and his father was married to Alice Lacy. He moved to Phillips at the age of three and attended school in Phillips. He moved to Cairo in the eighth grade and lived in Cairo the rest of his life.
He married Myrtle (Vierk) Ummel on April 7, 1922, at Smith Center, Kan. The couple lived in Cairo where he did custom farming, cut corn fodder, bailed hay and combined wheat during his working career.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Poehler of Cairo; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four half-brothers.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.
Susan LePard
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Susan Ann LePard, 52, of Arlington, Texas, died at her home following a brief illness on Monday, May 8, 2000.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. The Revs. John Keefe and Victor Derwinski will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. LePard was born
in Kansas City, Mo. on July 1, 1947 to Walter and Mary (Koberstein) LePard.
She grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary Alice and Hoot Gibson of Aurora; her father, Walter LePard of Independence, Mo.; and two stepsisters, Leanne Wilkinson of Blue Springs, Mo. and Kristen Moorhead of Independence, Mo.
Kay Zinky
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Kay M. Zinky, 97, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Terrace Gardens Nursing Home in Colorado Springs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Divide Cemetery at Divide, Colo.
Nolan Funeral Home of Colorado Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zinky was born
March 25, 1903, at Rocky Ford, Colo. to Fred F. and Ada L. (Towell) Mehring.
She married Raymond Verne Zinky on Dec. 30, 1922.
Survivors include two sons, William and Dr. Robert Zinky, both of California; three brothers, Neal Mehring of Littleton, Colo. and Fred and Delmar Mehring, both of Grand Island; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Dean Erickson
Dean R. Erickson, 72, of 1407 Newcastle Road No. 108 died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Butler-Vollard Funeral Home in Hastings is in charge of arrangements.

Nellie Gould
Nellie G. Gould, 92, of 412 N. White Ave. died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Gould's body was cremated. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Iris Marvin
Iris V. Marvin, 72, of Grand Island died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Mrs. Marvin's body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis, Wyo.
Grand Island arrangements were handled through Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Mrs. Marvin was born
on July 2, 1927, at Round Valley to Ernest and Essa Pearl (Larson) Kleeb. She grew up and attended school in Round Valley and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1945.
She attended Kearney State College and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in education. She taught at a country school in Nebraska for five years. She then taught in the Casper, Wyo., area for 20 years.
She married Dale C. Marvin on March 8, 1969. Following her years of teaching, they moved to Thermopolis, Wyo., where they owned and operated the Cactus Inn Motel. Mr. Marvin died on June 15, 1981.
Mrs. Marvin volunteered as a grandmother in the Thermopolis school system. She moved to Grand Island in September 1996.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Sherry Pender of Houston and Debby Caillouette of Thermopolis, Wyo.; one stepson, Darwin Marvin of Richmond, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Loyd Kleeb of Broken Bow and Earle Kleeb of Grand Island; and one sister, June Kleeb of Loveland, Colo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Whaley.
Ruth Beran
ORD -- Ruth Louise Beran, 66, of Ord died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ord. The Rev. Mark Middendorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Leon Krepel
ORD -- Leon "Lee" Krepel, 83, of Ord died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery with military rites by the Ord Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. rosary, Sunday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Ord Rescue Unit.
