Jean Graham
KEYSTONE -- Jean Graham, 70, of Keystone, a former Grand Island resident, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Ogallala Community Hospital after a short illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paxton. The Rev. Doniver Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala.
A memorial has been established to the Chris Graham Scholarship Fund.
Mrs. Graham was born
on Dec. 11, 1928, at Grand Island to Arthur and Margaret (Michelmann) Stoppkotte. She attended Seedling Mile School and graduated from Grand Island High School. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1950 and earned her master's degree from Chadron State College in 1979.
She married Edgar Graham on April 20, 1952. They lived south of Arthur for a year until moving to the Lute Ranch at Roscoe. They lived there for 23 years and moved to their own ranch at Keystone in 1976.
Mrs. Graham was the Perkins County Extension agent from 1950 to 1953. She also worked at the Keith County News and Nebraska Home Health. For the past 13 years, she was a Nebraska travel and tourism booth counselor.
She substituted at the Ogallala public schools. She taught at Keith County District 8 from 1974 through 1976 and at Paxton Consolidated Schools for the 1976-77 school year. She taught social studies and was librarian when she taught at Paxton.
Mrs. Graham traveled to India in 1978 and Pakistan in 1993 on Fulbright Scholarships.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Paxton. She taught Sunday school, played the organ and was choir director. She was a member of the Mary-Martha Circle.
She was a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Nebraska State Historical Society, Riverside Extension Club, Keith County Extension Council, AAUW, Paxton Education Association and Mensa. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, history, music, photography, hunting and traveling.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky (Mrs. Pete) Spady of Imperial, Nancy (Mrs. Mike) Bopp of Ogallala and Susan Graham of Ogallala; two sons, Ron and Mike, both of Keystone; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Annette Davis of Dannebrog; and a brother, Warren Stoppkotte of Tucson, Ariz.
Her husband died this past April. She also was preceded in death by a son, Christopher; an infant son; and two grandsons.
Robert Morton
FREMONT -- Robert H. Morton, 81, of Fremont died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. The Rev. Paul Erdal will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Fremont Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. A Masonic service at 7 p.m. at the chapel will be open to the public.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and Fremont Shrine Club.
Mr. Morton was born
on May 14, 1918, in Cody to Lemuel and Elizabeth (Minarck) Morton. He grew up on the family ranch in Ainsworth. He graduated from Ainsworth High School and then worked on the family ranch.
Mr. Morton served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945. After his military service, he moved to Albia, Iowa, where he began working for the Central States Theatre Co. In 1949, he moved to Fremont, where he began his long career of managing Fremont theaters. He retired in 1994.
He married Ruth Kinkenon on Nov. 17, 1953, in Fremont. She died in July 1999.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 of Fremont, Masonic Lodge 15 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Omaha, Fremont Shrine Club and Tangier Shrine of Omaha.
Survivors include one brother, Willard of Grand Island; and three sisters, Verda Elliott and Marian (Mrs. Tony) Kalkowski, both of North Platte, and Fern Primmer of Stuart.
Gage England
Gage Thomas England, 2 month old son of Tabatha Cumings and Kevin England of Grand Island, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at his home.
Services are pending at Kleine Funeral Home Chapel.
Nadine Kluska
Nadine Kluska, 75, of Wedgewood Care Center, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kan. Burial will be at Englevale/Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the family.
Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Kluska was born
Feb. 8, 1924, in Uncas, Okla. to Amos and Mayme (Lee) Bush.
On April 27, 1946, she married Thomas Kluska in St. Marys, Kan. They lived in Scottsbluff before moving to Lincoln. In 1995 they moved to Grand Island to be near family. Mr. Kluska died in 1998.
Mrs. Kluska was an avid bingo player, bowler, card player and reader. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune.
Survivors include one son, John of Grand Island; one sister, Eileen Sherman of Cherokee, Kan.; one brother, Charles Bush; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Colleen Smith
Colleen Smith, 74, of Grand Island died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Palmer.
Opal Boardman
FULLERTON -- Opal Boardman, 77, of Fullerton, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at her home.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Daisha Jimenez-Hiner
KEARNEY -- Daisha Janette Jimenez-Hiner, infant daughter of Dustin Hiner and Elva Jimenez, died at birth Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at O'Brien-Straatman-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. Greg Mast will officiate. Burial will be in Kearney Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the parents.
Survivors include her father of Kearney and mother of Pericos, Mexico; paternal grandparents, Lori Whipple of Kearney and James Branch of Syracuse, N.Y.; maternal grandparents, Leticia Palacios and Alejandro Jimenez of Shelton and paternal great-grandparents, Eddie and Delores Hiner of Kearney.
Marie Main
FULLERTON -- Marie Main, 100, of Fullerton, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Roy Stack
CHAPMAN -- Roy E. Stack, 47, of Chapman, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapman Cemetery. The Rev. Pat Scott will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Stack was born
March 9, 1952, at Central City to Orie and Augusta (Hansen) Stack. He grew up in the Chapman area and attended school there.
He worked for the D.C. Lynch Company for several years and returned to Chapman where he dug graves for funeral services, did lawn maintenance and other various jobs.
Survivors include one son, Roy Jr.; one daughter, Sylvia; two brothers, Rex and Ronnie, both of Chapman; and two sisters, Darlene (Mrs. Francis) Sowl of Grand Island and Violet (Mrs. Wesley) Sowl of Beatrice.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Glenn Stroud
KEARNEY -- Glenn A. Stroud, 85, of Kearney, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Mr. Stroud was cremated. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Senior Hospitality Center in Kearney. Dean Pofahl will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Stroud was born
March 13, 1914, at Boelus to Camma and Laura (Hendrickson) Stroud. He attended school and graduated from Boelus High School.
He married Twila Brickner on June 21, 1941, at Ord. He was the Fuller Brush salesman in Kearney for 43 years.
He was a member of New Life Assembly in Kearney. His hobbies included golfing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Pease of Denver and Glenda Warford of Kearney; one sister, Eva Christensen of Imperial; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald Trupp
AURORA, Colo. -- Donald D. Trupp, 82, of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Grand Island, died Sept. 28, 1999, at his daughter's home in Aurora, Colo.
Services were Monday at Big Springs, Texas.
Mr. Trupp was born
July 22, 1917, in Hastings to Henry and Janie (Booker) Trupp. The family moved to Grand Island in 1919. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1936.
On Aug. 1, 1943, he married Alta Coleman at Big Springs, Texas. He was a radio man in the air force during World War II. After his discharge he was a postman in Big Springs until his retirement in 1982.
He enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Sinnerty of Aurora, Colo.; three sisters, Leona Bennink and Betty Thomas of Grand Island and Fern Glantz of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Loftus.
