Floyd Rozmiarek

Floyd S. Rozmiarek, 82, formerly of Wolbach, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. Karl Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in the O'Connor Cemetery with military honors at graveside. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mr. Rozmiarek was born icon Feb. 13, 1917, at Ashton to John and Frances (Precek) Rosmiarek. He received his education at Arnold and grew up in Stapleton. He then worked on a ranch near Arnold.

During World War II, he served the United States Army from February of 1941 to July of 1945. In 1945, he married Ernstine Hurst at Birmingham, Ala. The couple first made their home on a farm near Stapleton. In 1952, they moved to a farm near Wolbach. Mrs. Rozmiarek died in 1962. He remained on the farm with his family, where he farmed and did carpentry work. In 1965, Mr. Rozmiarek moved into Wolbach.

Later the family made its home on farms northeast of Wolbach. In 1994, he moved to Yutan to make his home. In May of 1997, he entered the Nebraska Veterans Home where he lived the rest of his life.

He was a member of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joanne (Mrs. Terry) Brown of Chapman; Mrs. Eunice (Mrs. Edward) Antosh of Yutan, Mrs. Dianne (Mrs. Allen) DeBolt of Grand Island; Mrs. Judy (Mrs. Wayne) Cordes of Papillion; a son, Stanley of Lakewood, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Marley of North Platte; a brother, Leonard of Creston, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Carl; two brothers, Victor and Steve; and three sisters, Bertha, Johanna and Rosie.

Buelah Schrock

AURORA -- Buelah Schrock, 87, of Aurora died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Jay Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Higby Mortuary.

Mrs. Schrock was born icon Feb. 29, 1912, to Melvin and Myrtle (Bennet) Hurst in Burke, S.D. She grew up in York County and graduated from Waco High School in 1930.

She married Russell Schrock on Jan. 5, 1933. They had three children. They lived on a farm near Giltner until 1975, when they retired and moved to Aurora.

Mrs. Schrock was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora. She was a member of the GGG Club for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Russell of Aurora; two sons, Eugene Schrock of Aurora and Van Schrock of Lincoln; a daughter, Sharon Waline of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grandson.

Carmen Schwaderer

WOOD RIVER -- Carmen D. Schwaderer, 61, of Wood River died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, of injuries sustained in a car accident west of Wood River.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Wood River with the Rev. Rose Bartleson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Loup City Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Schwaderer was cremated and there will be no visitation. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the church or the family's choice.

Mrs. Schwaderer was born icon June 16, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Howard and Garnet (Phillips) Mills. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School in 1956.

She married Richard Gaffey on Aug. 10, 1957, in Vermillion, S.D. They lived in LeMars, Iowa, where they operated the Mid-Town Tavern for many years.

She married Darrel Schwaderer on Dec. 28, 1974, in Grand Island. They owned and operated the Wood River Snack Shack Cafe and Carmens Catering in Wood River from 1986 until the time of her death.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rachael Circle, Wood River Community Club and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of Wood River; four daughters, Melody (Mrs. Brent) Grim of St. Libory, Candi Gaffey of Wood River, Gigi (Mrs. Richard) Call of Shelton, and Darci Schwaderer at home; two step-daughters, Deb (Mrs. Robert) Williams and Susan (Mrs. Doug) New; a sister, Dorothy Jean Middleton of Hemet, Cal., and 11 grandchildren.

Edmund Tarnick

FULLERTON -- Edmund E. Tarnick, 90, of Fullerton died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Services are pending at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton,

Arvilla Treat

DONIPHAN -- Arvilla E. Treat, 64, of Doniphan died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan with the Rev. Rod Armon officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan.

Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan, with the family present.

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Treat was born icon Sept. 6, 1934, in Doniphan to Henry and Martha (Porth) Toben. She graduated from Doniphan High School and from Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings.

She married R. Donald Treat on May 5, 1957, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Doniphan, and was a farm wife and mother who lived in the Doniphan area all her life.

Survivors include her husband, R. Donald Treat of Doniphan; a daughter, Celeste (Mrs. Jack) Wieland of Holyoke, Colo.; a son, Calvin Treat of Omaha; four grandchildren; and four brothers, Victor, Arnold, Ronald and Wendell Toben, all of Doniphan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald.

Clara Bumann

Clara A. Bumann, 95, of Grand Island died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to United Congregational Church.

Mrs. Bumann was born icon July 17, 1904, to Anton and Barbara (Sazama) Pochop at Pierce County. She grew up and attended school in Pierce County.

She married Elmer Bumann on Nov. 9, 1935, at Omaha. The couple lived in Osmond, where she was a housewife and mother. They moved to Grand Island in 1982.

She was a member of United Congregational Church, Osmond Legion Auxiliary for 45 years and a former member of Order of Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include one son, Milo of Bryan, Texas; one daughter, Mary of Bryan, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Tony and one brother, Milo.

Mable Miller

BURWELL -- Mable M. Miller, 78, of Burwell died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Sargent Nursing Center in Sargent.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Burwell. The Rev. Michael Laing will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church or Burwell Ambulance Supply Fund.

Mrs. Miller was born icon Jan. 30, 1921, to Robert and Josephine (Williams) Olson three miles northwest of Burwell on the old Obercotter place.

She attended rural schools in the area, graduating from Burwell High School in 1938. She attended summer school at Kearney State Teacher's College in 1941. She taught five years in area rural schools, boarding with some local families.

She married Dale Albert Miller on May 14, 1941, at Ord. They farmed north of Burwell.

She served as bookkeeper for Dale's implement business from 1956 to 1960. She also worked at the Burwell hospital office for 12 years, then worked for the county attorney's office for 10 years. She remodeled her father's small house for an office, where she worked as a certified abstractor and did others' income taxes.

She was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Society. She was one of the first promoters of Burwell Alumni Association.

She enjoyed bowling in a league for many years, fellowship of her coffee groups and Saturday night dancing.

Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Raymond of Newport and Ralph of Lincoln; three sisters, Clara (Mrs. Emanuel) Smolik of Alma, Berneice (Mrs. Thomas) Wallin of Scotia and Helen (Mrs. Bob) Wilson of Blair.

She was preceded in death by one son, Greg; one brother, Carl R. Olson and two sisters, Elsie Mae Olson and Martha Alder.

Marion Ryan

CENTRAL CITY -- Marion W. Ryan, 89, of Central City died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview United Methodist Church near Central City. The Rev. Henrietta Stenley will officiate. Burial will be in Central City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Solt Funeral Home in Central City.

Mr. Ryan was born icon Aug. 16, 1910, to Samuel and Fanny (Huering) Ryan at Palisade. He attended Cedar Valley District and Marquette elementary schools and graduated from Central City High School in 1929.

He married Gwendolyn Louise Willeman on June 13, 1939, at Central City. He worked at Omaha Cold Storage in Omaha, then joined the U.S. Navy in 1943. During World War II, he served as a dry dock in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific. He was a machinist mate second class. After returning from the military, he moved to the Willeman family farm northwest of Central City in 1947.

He was honored at Ak-Sar-Ben for keeping the Willeman homestead in the family for 100 years.

He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Chuck of Central City; two daughters, Jean (Mrs. Larry) Hutton of Henderson, Nev., and Marilyn (Mrs. Kenton) Thompson of Holdrege; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Chester Ryan of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Patricia Louise; two brothers, Ray and Walter; and three sisters, Daisy Cohagan, Hazel McDermott and Stella Zigler.

Margaret Schlondorf

CLARKS -- Margaret V. Schlondorf, 90, of Clarks died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Solt Funeral Home chapel in Central City. The Rev. Richard Fairbanks will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in York.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schlondorf was born icon June 4, 1909, to George and Christine (Gablehouse) Schleiger at York. She attended school near York. She then worked as a telephone operator.

She married Henry Schlondorf on Feb. 30, 1930, at York. The couple lived on a farm east of Stromsburg, then moved near Clarks in 1936. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1980.

She moved to Litzenberg Long Term Care in August 1988. Mr. Schlondorf died on Nov. 13, 1997.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Clarks and the Research Club. She served as past president of United Methodist Women, past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star Ivy Chapter No. 210 in Clarks and past oracle of Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include one son, Robert of Clarks; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mae Melton of Sacramento, Calif., Francis Carr and Arlene (Mrs. Owen) Kilgore, both of Grand Island.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Don; one grandson, Jon; three brothers, George, Harold and Alvin Schleiger and one sister, Helen Schleiger.
