Ruth Sullivan

Ruth W. Sullivan, 87, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church with a wake service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Church.

Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sullivan was born icon June 3, 1912, to Robert N. and Anna May (Wisely) Hastings at Albion. After graduating from high school, she attended Wesleyan University and the Grand Island Business College.

She married Joseph L. Sullivan and they lived in Grand Island. She began working for the federal government in 1953 at the F.C.C. monitoring station. She retired after 20 years of service.

She was past president of the St. Mary's PTA and a charter member of Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

Survivors include one son, Richard of Grand Island; one daughter, Gloria (Mrs. John) Reichmann of Cashmore, Wash.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irma (Mrs. Jack) Howard of Grand Junction, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, one son, Joseph Jr., six brothers and one sister.

Antonia Musquiz

ST. PAUL -- Antonia J. Musquiz, 68, of Cushing, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. Musquiz was born icon March 14, 1931, in Robbs Town, Texas to Samuel and Concepcion Concha Joslin. She grew up in Alice, Texas.

She married Paul Musquiz on Aug. 20, 1948 in Alice, Texas. The couple lived in Bridgeport from 1957 to 1964. In 1964 they moved to the Cushing area.

Survivors include her husband; six sons, Paul Jr. of Independence, Mo., Samuel of Harvard, Reynaldo and Larry of Grand Island, Arnaldo of Wood River and Jesus of Ankeny, Iowa; eight daughters, Betty (Mrs. William ) Schamp of St. Paul, Gloria Ayers of Lexington, Mo., Rebecca (Mrs. Galen) Williams and Delia (Mrs. Dennis) Beed, both of Grand Island, Martha (Mrs. Kenneth) Kowalewski and Amelia Musquiz, both of Omaha, Linda Hansen of Hastings and Sylvia (Mrs. Jay) Rutten of Cedar Rapids; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers; and four sisters of Texas.

Glenn Seberg

ELWOOD -- Glenn L. Seberg, 92, formerly of Elwood, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Community Health Center in Lincoln.

Services were Oct. 30 at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. The Rev. Fred Andersen officiated. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery.

Mr. Seberg was born icon July 11, 1907, to Lewis and Edith (Spors) Seberg at Upland. He attended schools at Upland, Naponee and Elwood.

He married Inez Davidson at Norman on Nov. 19, 1932. They lived in Elwood where he worked with his father, who owned the Independent Oil Co. He later purchased the business and operated it until he retired in 1968. During his retirement, he devoted his time serving as a board member and volunteering for several organizations. He and his wife had lived in Lincoln since August.

He was a board member of the Methodist Memorial Home at Holdrege and past president of Mid-Nebraska Community Services. He was instrumental in the development of the Elwood Care Center and served on the administrative board. He was a village board member and former mayor of Elwood. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 75 years and a former member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joan (Mrs. Alton R.) Berquist of Menominee, Mich., and Jean (Mrs. James) Sheffield of Lincoln; a son, John of Denver; three brothers, J.L. Seberg of Fullerton, Herbert Seberg of Topeka, Kan., and J.R. Seberg of Hastings; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Frances Cole

LAWNDALE, Calif. -- Frances Cole, 82, of Lawndale, Calif., died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at a hospital in California.

Mrs. Cole will be cremated. Service details are pending in California.

Mrs. Cole was born icon Nov. 17, 1916, to Alfred and Florence (Perkey) Behrens at Doniphan. She attended District 19 High School in Hall County and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1933.

She married Leo Cole on July 6, 1936. They moved to California in 1941.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David and Larry Cole of California; five grandchildren; two sisters, Faye (Mrs. Fred) Rauert of Grand Island and Fern (Mrs. Harold) Scheel of California, and one brother, William Behrens of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donald.

Wilma LeMaster

NEW HEBRON, Miss. -- Wilma May LeMaster, 82, formerly of Elm Creek, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in New Hebron, Miss.

Services are pending with Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon.

LeRoy Peyton

LeRoy C. Peyton, 71, of 3004 W. 17th St. died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home with the Rev. John Orchard officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Cottonwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mr. Peyton was born icon on July 23, 1928, in Burwell to Lewis and Neola (Lenker) Peyton. He grew up and attended school in the Burwell area and graduated from Ord High School in 1945. He attended Grand Island Business College.

He worked as a clerk at KMMJ Radio and as a bell hop at the Yancey Hotel, where he met and later married Marcella Stoural on July 23, 1950. They lived in Grand Island, where Mr. Peyton had a milk route and delivered milk to Roberts and Fairacres dairies. The family moved to North Loup, where they farmed for 10 years, and then moved to Holdrege for a year before moving back to Grand Island. Mr. Peyton became at journeyman electrician in the 1970s and worked in Iowa and Nebraska.

He was a member of the Church of God, an international association, and served as an elder. He was a Spokesman's Club graduate. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, ranching and hunting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Kevin of Eldora, Iowa; two daughters, Pam (Mrs. John) Chambers of Sherman, Texas, and Brenda Norman of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth L. Peyton of Arcadia and David Shoemaker of Ord.

Donald Rockwell

Donald E. Rockwell, 59, of Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Park Place.

Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.

Gary Schlueter

Gary U. Schlueter, 51, of Grand Island died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at the Bryan-Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island with the Rev. Gary Schulte officiating. Mr. Schlueter will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Schlueter was born icon Oct. 8, 1948, to Dutch and Helen (Quirk) Schlueter in Kearney. He grew up and received his education in Fremont, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1967.

Following high school, he worked in construction with his father and then was in sales for many years. In 1993 he opened his own business, Signs on Time and in February 1999 he started Gus's Antiques.

On Feb. 1, 1970, he married Bonnie Shoultz in Schuyler. The couple lived in various places across the state before settling in Grand Island.

Mr. Schlueter loved animals, fishing, refinishing furniture and antiques.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Grand Island; one son, Chad of Lincoln; one daughter, Aubrey Schlueter of Lincoln; his mother, Helen Schlueter of North Bend; one grandson; and one brother, Tom Schlueter of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Imogene Florea

AURORA - Imogene Florea, 94, of Aurora died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Aurora. The Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.

Mrs. Florea was born icon on April 14, 1905, on a farm near Hampton to Frederick and Myrtle (Pollard) Splinter. She grew up on her grandparents' homestead. She attended country school and Aurora High School.

She married John Florea on Dec. 15, 1925, in Aurora. They began farming in Hamilton County. They moved to Aurora in 1972 and to Hamilton Manor in Aurora in November 1996. Mr. Florea died on March 17, 1998.

Mrs. Florea enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and canning. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was active in an Extension club and church circle.

Survivors include one son, Ronald of Hampton; one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Bill) Bish of West Point; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Genevieve Wilshusen of Aurora; and one brother, Leonard Splinter of Bartlesville, Okla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Splinter.

Orlie Hobbs

BROKEN BOW - Orlie Hobbs, 92, of Broken Bow, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.

Services are pending with Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.

Ruth Hurlbert

ORD - Ruth Darlene Hurlbert, 70, of Ord died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. James Miller will officiate. She was cremated. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Valley County Hospital Foundation.

She was born icon on Sept. 2, 1929, in Ord to John and Leona (Moon) Miller. She grew up and was educated in Ord. She graduated from Ord High School in 1946.

She lived in Lincoln, where she worked as a dental assistant for a private dental practice. She began working in 1973 as a dental assistant specialist for the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln. She retired in August 1991 and moved to Ord in August 1998.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Western movies and listening to country singer Eddie Arnold.

Survivors include one son, Allen Hurlbert of Ord; one daughter, Patricia Haifley of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; one brother, Robert Miller of Ord; and one sister, Rhoda (Mrs. Willis) Plate of Ord.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Miller.
