'Jack' Reigle
ALBION -- John E. "Jack" Reigle, 61, of Albion died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. The Rev. Frank Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Monday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, and resume at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the church, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Reigle was born
Feb. 24, 1938, to Charles and Edna (Bennett) Reigle in Madison County. He attended Madison County District No. 67 School and graduated from Newman Grove High School.
He married Carola Swerczek on March 7, 1957. The couple farmed near Newman Grove, Belgrade and Albion until 1973, when they moved to Albion. He owned and operated his own livestock trucking company. They also owned and operated Jack's Liquor in Albion from 1976 to 1980. He entered Tilden Nursing Home in Tilden in December 1998.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob of Albion and Terry of Pilger; three daughters, Joanie (Mrs. Larry) Wirges of Petersburg, Janice Mangelsen and Becky Meysenburg, both of Albion; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Kenny of Madison and two sisters, Fern (Mrs. Duane) King of Newman Grove and Dona (Mrs. Lloyd) Lutjens of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
'Gene' Spurlock
BROKEN BOW -- Francis "Gene" Spurlock, 67, of Broken Bow, formerly of Merna, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Sandhills Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Military graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Merna Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Stark will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Spurlock was born
Aug. 28, 1932, to James and Belva (Pearman) Gregory Spurlock at Seneca. He grew up at Seneca and graduated from Seneca High School in 1950.
He married Madeline Gae Bryant on April 8, 1953, at Seneca. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served in the Korean War. He later served in the Navy Sea Bees in Wyoming and Oregon. He also took part in Army National Guard in Broken Bow.
He spent his life as an auto mechanic during and after his military service. When he lived in Phoenix, he taught auto mechanics at the technical college.
He moved to Merna in 1990 after suffering a stroke in 1989 at Creswell, Ore. He then moved to Sandhills Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow in 1999.
He enjoyed Nebraska football and helping family and friends with automotive questions or problems.
He was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars chapters, all in Broken Bow.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, James of Merna, Kurt of Clifton, Colo., and Wesley of Little Rock, Ark.; three daughters, Peggy (Mrs. Randy) Coon of Merna, Karen (Mrs. Bret) Fletcher of Anselmo and Diane (Mrs. Gene) Beebe of Fall Creek, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, James of Palmyra, Pa.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Don Gregory, and one sister, Helen Trotter.
Edwin Whitten
GIBBON -- Edwin N. Whitten, 56, of rural Gibbon died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Kearney. The Rev. Jim Beverley will officiate. Burial will be in Vega, Texas, at a later date.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family or the Good Samaritan Hospice Program.
Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Whitten was born
Oct. 16, 1942, to Euclid and Ava (Roberson) Whitten in Libertyville, Iowa. The family lived in Portales, N.M., where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1960. He also attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.
He worked as a cowhand on ranches in that area before entering the U.S. Army in 1964. After he was discharged in 1966, he returned home to help on the family farm.
He married Beverley George on April 8, 1967, at Portales. He continued to farm and work as a cowhand until he became a ranch manager in 1977. The family moved to Anselmo in January 1990. He was forced to retire early became of ill health in 1991. He then lived in Kearney from 1993 to 1996. They moved to south of Gibbon in 1996.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Shawni Reicks of Kearney, Sharri (Mrs. Jedd) Bohlender of Grand Island and Sharla (Mrs. Sam) Andersen of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Eldon of Roswell, N.M., Elmer of Amarillo, Texas, and Eulen of Grand Island and one sister, Erma Pachelli of Lubbock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Lorraine Ott
OXFORD -- R. Lorraine Ott, 76, of Oxford died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford. The Rev. George Naylor will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Orleans Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford and Harlan County Hospital in Alma.

Mrs. Ott was born
July 11, 1923, to Ivan and Signe (Smith) Wohlgemuth in Holdrege. She attended schools near Funk, Holdrege and Loomis and in Kimball County while her family briefly lived and farmed there.
After returning to rural Loomis, she graduated from Holdrege High School in 1941. She then moved to Holdrege, where she worked at the drug store and later became a telephone operator.
She married Paul Ott on Sept. 6, 1952, at Holdrege. The couple moved to the Ott family farm north of Orleans. She was a homemaker and volunteered with school activities in which her children were involved at Oxford Public Schools.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford, where she took part in Ladies Aid, Sunday school, catechism, choir and altar guild and Orleans Civic Club.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and reading, as well as singing at numerous occasions.
Survivors include her husband; one son, John of Central City; three daughters, Paula (Mrs. Denny) Low of Uehling, Mary Ott of Lincoln and Kathy Burgett of Orleans; two grandchildren and two sisters, JoAnn (Mrs. Russell) Bramble of Hastings and Gen (Mrs. Donald) Broman of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by one son, Karl "Warren" Ott; one brother, Warren Wohlgemuth and one sister, Norma Wohlgemuth.
Fern Parker
CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Fern Parker, 82, of Cheyenne, formerly of Scotia, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Cheyenne Healthcare Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne. The Rev. Kenneth Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Parker was born
April 28, 1917, to Silas and Edith Morrow in Scotia. She attended teachers college in Kearney and taught at a rural school near Scotia.
She married Justin E. Parker on May 19, 1939, in St. Paul. The couple moved to Cheyenne in 1957. She started America's Best Children Day Care at First United Methodist Church in Cheyenne in 1967, operating it until the 1980 closing. After that, she served as a home health care provider for the elderly.
Mr. Parker died in 1986.
Survivors include one son, Everett of Cheyenne; four daughters, Arlene of Denver, Alice Harris and June Pafford, both of Cheyenne, and Joyce Swanson of Chicago; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Faye Petersen of Grand Island.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Harold; one brother, Everett Morrow and one sister, Opal Bosselman.
Dorothy Molcyzk
Dorothy Elizabeth (Wendt) Molcyzk, 66, of Grand Island died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, after a long bout with cancer at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mrs. Molcyzk was born
Sept. 12, 1933, to Louis Frederick and Edith Irene (Humphrey) Wendt in Grand Island. As a young girl she was active in Girl Scout Troop No. 12 which was the first troop in Grand Island. She was on the debate team at Grand Island Senior High. She was the head cashier at Grand and Capitol Theatres, was a clerk at Hested Dime Store and wrapped gifts at Wolbach's.
She married George Stanley Molcyzk on June 19, 1951, in Grand Island. She was an active Girl Scout leader for her daughters and a pack leader for her son in cub scouts. She worked at Sears in the business department, for the Census Bureau of Grand Island and worked with F.E.M.A. after the 1980 tornado. She worked at the election headquarters in Grand Island and was part owner of the Molcyzk Coin Shop.
She enjoyed camping, sewing, making wedding dresses, crafts, baking, cake decorating, bingo and traveling. Each year at Christmas, she made each family a gift or ornament. She won many ribbons at the fair for her craft entries.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. At St. Mary's Cathedral, she was a member of the Altar Society for eight years and had served as the head of the bingo committee for nine years.
Survivors include her husband, George; one son, Lawrence Molczyk of Aurora; five daughters, Catherine (Mrs. Tim) Bartlett, Doris (Mrs. Daryl) Bartlett, Beverly (Mrs. Scott) Meyers and Karen L. (Mrs. William) Earl, all of Grand Island, and Gail (Mrs. Ron) Evans of Anchorage, Alaska; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Marvel Hoover of Central City and Paula Wetzel of Oregon and a special friend, Dorothy R. Molczyk.
She was preceded in death by one grandson and one brother, Ralph Delatus Wendt.

Dorothy Critel
LINCOLN -- Dorothy Irene Critel, 76, of Lincoln, formerly of rural Cordova and Grand Island, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2000, in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Merv Goodrick will officiate. Burial will be in the Lushton City Cemetery in Lushton.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mrs. Critel was born
Dec. 18, 1923, to Louis and Lena (Keller) Berst on a farm southeast of Beaver Crossing. As a young girl, she attended Country School District No. 29 near Beaver Crossing.
She married Elmer E. Critel on June 29, 1947, in Kansas. They lived near Cordova. Upon her husband's death in 1976, she moved to Grand Island and later to Lincoln to be near her children.
She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lincoln and the women's circle of the church. She enjoyed her visits to the Willard Senior Center and loved to play bingo. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially apple crisp.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Mrs. Richard) Enevoldsen of Grand Island; two sons, Elmer Critel of Lincoln and Gerald Critel of Beatrice; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Lillian Hrabran of Lincoln, Edna Jausi of Seward and Verna (Mrs. Wayne) Weyers of Elmwood.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerrold in 1997, and a sister, Clara Berst.
