Eden -- Ruth C. "Tootie," 81, Burr, died Saturday (10/12/2002) in Beatrice. Born, Sterling (10/20/20). Graduated, Sterling High School, 1938. married Dale W. Eden (8/16/38), lived in Burr, Mobile, Ala. and Lincoln. The couple owned and operated the Bar & Grill, Sterling, 1952-1959. Also owned, operated Tootie's Tap, Burr, several years; Burr Variety Store, four years. Served two terms, Burr Town Council. Active member, Hope Lutheran Church, Burr; served on church council, involved with ladies organization of the church. Enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, participating in the Burr Senior Citizens Group, collecting ceramic birds, watching, feeding birds.
Survivors: daughter, son-in-law, Miriam "Mimi" and Roger Weber, Beatrice; son, daughter-in-law, Garrett and Saundra, Lincoln; grandchildren, spouses, Jamie and Bryan Anderson, North Platte, Jason and Jill Weber, Seattle, Vicki and Adam Ott, Lincoln; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Eden, St. Louis. Preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Anna Salee Thompson; husband, Dale, who died Aug. 5, 1998; four brothers; five sisters.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Pastor Mary Grundman. Private inurnment of cremains, 1 p.m. Wednesday, church cemetery. No visitation. Register book available for signatures, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. today and Tuesday, Zink-Fox Funeral Home, Sterling; one hour before service, church. Memorials: family's choice with Delton Panko in charge.
