Johnson -- James Arthur "Jim," 68, Crete, passed away on Tuesday (4/15/2003) . Born, Council Bluffs, Iowa, (8/29/34) to Paul and Geniveve (Curry) Johnson. He earned his architecture degree at the University of Nebraska in 1960 and has practiced architecture for 43 years. Following graduation, he worked with Clark Enersen Architects until establishing his own firm in 1965. Jim contributed in many ways to the development of Lincoln. Jim and Marlene moved to Delray Beach, Fla., in 1983. As director of development, Jim was influential in the city's redevelopment and beautification programs. He established the Johnson Architectural Group in Florida in 1987. Jim and Marlene returned to Nebraska in 1997 where Jim continued his architectural practice. In addition, they established the Blue Valley Vineyard, Nebraska's fourth winery.
Survivors: wife of 24 years, Marlene (Wait); son and daughter in-law, Gregg and Marilyn Johnson; stepson, spouse, Jim and Kathi Nuttleman; stepdaughter, spouse, Betty and Curt Pikschus; grandchildren, Chad Pikschus, Jesse and Rebekah Johnson, Matthew, Zachary, Elizabeth and Rachel Nuttleman.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of Jim's life at 3 p.m. Friday, First Evangelical Free Church, 3300 S. 84 St. Memorials to the National Arbor Day Foundation, Attention: Memorials for the Tree House Trail Project in Memory of James A. Johnson, 211 N. 12 St., Lincoln, NE 68508.

Graduate, Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., 1938. After college she worked for George Gallup Weekly Polls. married Alfred Marron 6/23/40, in Lincoln. Owned and operated the Marron Independent Insurance Agency in Morrill for many years with her husband.
Member, Women's Literary Club of Morrill; Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority; elder and clerk of session of the Morrill Presbyterian Church; Morrill Methodist Church. Served on the West Nebraska Community College Board, 10 years.
Survivors: husband, Alfred; daughter, son-in-law, Marcia and Kenneth Hills, Sun Valley, Idaho; son, daughter-in-law, Dr. Bruce and Ann Marron, Fort Morgan, Colo.; brother, Reese Wilson, Lincoln; grandchildren, Marron Meyer, Tres Meyer, Frances Cammick, Louise Marron, Jesse Marron.
