Richard A. Lewis, 74
ALLIANCE - Richard A. "Dick" Lewis, 74, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Richard was born April 8, 1932, at Gordon, to Arthur and Neva (Seveland) Lewis. He married Irene E. Schwaderer on June 29, 1952, at Alliance.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then returned to Alliance where he worked as an auto mechanic at the A.H. Jones Motor Company, and as a service technician at Nebraska Typewriter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, at the United Methodist Church, with Rev. Doug Griger officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Prairie Haven Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Oral E. Mayne, 86
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. - Oral E. Mayne, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
He was born at Creston, Iowa, on Feb. 26, 1920. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1980 after 39 years.
His hobbies included golf, bowling and woodworking.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.
Philip E. Albright, 81
ALLIANCE - Philip E. Albright, 81, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
He was born April 21, 1924, at Ottumwa, Iowa, to Marion Vern and Sarah Margaret (Anderson) Albright.
He served in the U.S. Army from July 1943 to January 1946 where he saw service at Normandy and Central Europe. On January 18, 1948, he married Adelia "Dee" Settles at Alliance.
For 22 years Philip was employed by Fairmont Foods as a route salesman and later worked for Harris Sales for 12 years. He then worked for the City of Alliance as an electric service technician for 14 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion Post 7, Alliance Volunteer Fire Department and the Elks.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, at the Bates-Gould Chapel, with Norma Jensen officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Health Care Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara Lehl, 61
HEMINGFORD - Barbara Louise (Johnson) Lehl, 61, died Tuesday June 6, 2006, at her flower shop at Hemingford.
She was born September 10, 1944, at Alliance to Owen C. and Pearl (Vogel) Johnson.
Barbara graduated from Alliance High School in 1962. In December 1962, she graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce at Lincoln.
On April 19, 1964, she was married to Larry E. Lehl at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Alliance. Barbara worked in the Guardian State Bank for several years before moving to rural Hemingford to farm with her husband.
Barb helped out on the farm and in 1975 she created the "Whispering Pines Dog Kennel." Barbara enjoyed raising White German Shepards for the business and began taking ceramic and embroidery classes.
Barbara served as a Blue Bird and Camp Fire leader and room mother for various school parties. She also served as a 4-H leader and cheerleader sponsor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Buschbom officiating.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Bates-Gould Funeral Home at Alliance.
Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association or to 605 Big Horn, Alliance, NE 69301.

Mary Lou Squibb, 81
ALLIANCE - Mary Lou Squibb, 81, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
She was born Oc. 11, 1924, at Hay Springs, to William and Lula (Lahfolm) Benschoter.
Mary Lou was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Bates-Gould Chapel, with Norma Jensen officiating.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.

Daniel J. Trickler, 50
HEMINGFORD - Daniel James Trickler, 50, departed to live in the kingdom of heaven on June 6, 2006, a Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Dan was born July 27, 1955, at Sidney.
He lived most of his younger life at Sacramento, Calif., where he graduated form Hiram W. Johnson High School.
While in California, Dan was an avid scuba diver, and worked for 10 years at Cal Tran Railroad, building passenger train cars.
In 1990, Dan returned to Hemingford and established his career as a machinist for BNSF Railroad for the past 12 years. He lived a very active life around his career at BNSF with many hobbies.
Dan was tremendously enthusiastic about these hobbies including building and flying beautiful radio controlled aircraft, snow skiing with his family and vinyl graphics.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the United Methodist Church at Hemingford, with Pastor Jeri Soens officiating.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association or to Hemingford Community Care Center.

Dennis Eversull, 54
ALLIANCE - Dennis R. Eversull, 54, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at the Morrill County Hospital at Bridgeport.
He was born July 15, 1951, at Alliance, to Ward and Viola (Watson) Eversull.
He attended Alliance High School and then joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lompoc Air Force Base in California with the Strategic Air Command. He was honorably discharged.
He became a Journeyman Electrician, completing his apprenticeship at White Electric at Chariton, Iowa. He was a licensed Journeyman Electrician with IBEW Local 944 at San Bernadino, Calif., and most recently worked as an Electrician First Class with the Maintenance Department at Parker Hannifin at Alliance.
He was a licensed Journeyman Electrician in the state of Nebraska as well.
He married Terri Rogers of Burbank, Calif., and to this union two sons were born, Greg and Keith Eversull. He also had been married to Jan Bacon of California and Sandy Siedler of Alliance.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, at the Bates-Gould Chapel, with Rev. Jim West officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association at, 1550 South 70th Street, Suite 100, Lincoln, NE 68506.

William Hofmann, 59
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - William ( Bill ) Joseph Hofmann, 59, died Friday, June 2, 2006, at Summerlin Medical Hospital in Las Vegas after a yearlong battle against cancer.
He was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Alliance to Clifford and Faye (Gebhart) Hofmann.
Bill graduated Alliance High School in 1964. He attended Chadron State College for one year and entered the Army.
He married Ellen Manewal on Nov. 27, 1970, in California. To this union came one son, John William.
Bill was an electrician who worked for his father and then later contracted with his brother Monte.
Bill & Ellen moved to Las Vegas in 1986 where he was an electrician.
At the time of his death, he was employed by The Mirage Hotel & Casino.
His interests included the PT Cruiser Club, Square Dancing, Nebraska & Denver Bronco football, going on cruises with his wife and son, and frequenting "Soarin Over California" at the Disneyland Resort.
