HYANNIS - Mitchell P. Foreman, 18, died Monday, June 12, 2006, near Hyannis.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Hyannis High School, with a public wake sharing of memories and tribute at 7 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the high school.
Memorials may be sent to the Mitchell Foreman Scholarship Fund, Bank of the West, P.O. Box 227, Hyannis, NE 69350-0227.

Ashley Fielder, Infant
SCOTTSBLUFF - Ashley Kay Fielder, 10 days, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006, at The Children's Hospital at Denver with her family at her side.
Ashley was born May 30, 2006, at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center at Denver with a condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
She fought very hard to stay alive but couldn't overcome her severe heart defect.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at WestWay Christian Church at Scottsbluff, with Pastor Willie Coop officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, at Jolliffe Funeral Home at Scottsbluff and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Harold E. Zobel, 81
SPOKANE, Wash. - Harold E. Zobel, 81, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006, at the Veterans' Hospital at Spokane.
Harold was born Aug. 19, 1924, at Alliance, to Ethel and Arthur Zobel.
He attended rural school near Alliance. He served four years in the U.S. Army, partly in the Pacific Theater.
On Aug. 12, 1946, he married Lydia Robinson, and they moved to Masis Lake, Wash., where he operated heavy equipment for a construction company.
To this union were born one daughter, Gayle, and two sons, Alvin and Rick.
Community Cremation of Spokane was in charge of arrangements.
Dwayne A. Ackerman, 78
ALLIANCE - Dwayne A. Ackerman, 78, died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo.
He was born Jan. 5, 1928, at Alliance to Christopher and Minnie (Fraedrich) Ackerman.
Dwayne lived at Alliance all of his life including his attendance of rural schools and Alliance High School.
Dwayne served in World War II in the 1st Calvary Brigade on tour in Japan, enlisting April 13, 1946 and honorably discharged Sept. 30, 1947.
On Nov. 6, 1949, he married Rosalie Galyen at the First Christian Church at Alliance, where he also served as a Deacon for several years. Dwayne's life was spent farming northeast of Alliance.
He was a first-class farmer, always maintaining his land to the best of his ability. Besides farming, he had a deep love his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the First Christian Church, with Rev. Walter Cline officiating.
Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.

Dortha Cleveland, 96
ALLIANCE - Dortha Florence (Sydow) Cleveland, 96, entered Heaven June 10, 2006.
She was born April 13, 1910, at Trenton, to Robert and Margaret (Herchfield) Sydow.
She attended school at Trenton graduating in 1926. After attending normal school at Kearney, she taught rural school until her marriage to Clyde Cleveland, a marriage that lasted for 65 years until his death in 1995. To this union a son and a daughter were born.
Dortha and Clyde lived in several towns in Nebraska and Iowa before settling at Farragut, Iowa, in 1942. They resided there until Clyde passed away.
Dortha then moved to Alliance, to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. Dortha was a long time member of the Farragut Congregational Church and Garden Club.
Her life was centered on her family, she never too busy to listen or make cookies. Everyone loved and respected her, and had a large circle of friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 16, at Farragut Cemetery, Farragut, Iowa. A memorial service will be at Alliance at a later date.
Memorials may be made to PrairieHaven Hospice at Alliance, American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Edward T. Kresl, 68
HEMINGFORD - Edward T. Kresl, 68, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at his farm.
Ed was born in Box Butte County on March 7, 1938, to Mike and Anna Kresl, both deceased. Two brothers, Milo and Joseph, also preceded Ed in death.
Ed lived his entire 68 years as a wheat farmer and cattle rancher at Hemingford. He was raised with a strong Bohemia influence.
Both parents, Mike and Anna, had emigrated to the U.S. from Prague, Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic) in the 1920's. Ed held a membership in the ZCBJ Bohemian Fraternity along with numerous friends and family.
This group enjoyed many socials - picnics, dances, lake outings, ceremonies, and ZCBJ Hall functions to name a few.
Ed also served in the National Guard from 1958 to 1962. Shortly thereafter, he met Joanne (Campbell) Kresl and was married in 1963. Their five children kept them very busy with school, sports and 4-H activities over the next twenty-some years.
Ed loved his extra-curricular activities - fishing of every possible sort, socializing with anyone and everyone, hunting, poker, cards, billiards, and gambling were among his favorites. Ed worked very hard and played even harder. He was a fun-loving and entertaining man. Ed was one of a kind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, with Fr. James Heithoff officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the church.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara Lehl, 61
HEMINGFORD - Barbara Louise (Johnson) Lehl, 61, died Tuesday June 6, 2006, at her flower shop at Hemingford.
She was born September 10, 1944, at Alliance to Owen C. and Pearl (Vogel) Johnson.
Barbara graduated from Alliance High School in 1962. In December 1962, she graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce at Lincoln.
On April 19, 1964, she was married to Larry E. Lehl at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Alliance. Barbara worked in the Guardian State Bank for several years before moving to rural Hemingford to farm with her husband.
Barb helped out on the farm and in 1975 she created the "Whispering Pines Dog Kennel." Barbara enjoyed raising White German Shepards for the business and began taking ceramic and embroidery classes.
Barbara served as a Blue Bird and Camp Fire leader and room mother for various school parties. She also served as a 4-H leader and cheerleader sponsor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Buschbom officiating.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Bates-Gould Funeral Home at Alliance.
Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association or to 605 Big Horn, Alliance, NE 69301.

Mary Lou Squibb, 81
ALLIANCE - Mary Lou Squibb, 81, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
She was born Oc. 11, 1924, at Hay Springs, to William and Lula (Lahfolm) Benschoter.
Mary Lou was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Bates-Gould Chapel, with Norma Jensen officiating.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Prairie Haven Hospice, Good Samaritan Health Care Center, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
