Donald E. Barnoski
STAPLETON — Donald Ernest Barnoski, 69, of Stapleton died Feb. 1, 2001, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born July 10, 1931, to Raymond and Flora Jodeman Barnoski at Arnold. He was raised and attended school in Stapleton, where he graduated from high school in 1949. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany.
He married Alice Irene Romans. They had two children, Robert Ray and Donna Irene.
On Dec. 15, 1979, he married Willadean Hewitt, in Aurora, Colo. He was a machinist for Rockwell in Kearney and Drivetrain in Denver. In 1983, he returned to the family farm and stayed there until his death. He enjoyed coffee breaks with his friends and doing farm work.
Mr. Barnoski is survived by his wife of Stapleton; a daughter, Donna (Kent) Nelsen of Fremont; a son, Bobby Barnoski of St. Paul, Minn.; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Neff of Stapleton, Linda (Randy) Laubner of Hershey and Debra Fitzsimon of Lincoln; three stepsons, Darrell Gene, Tom and David (Laurel) Perkins, all of North Platte; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice; an infant son, Larry; and his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Stapleton Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in McCain Cemetery in Stapleton.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
Robert ‘Bob’ LeRette
OMAHA — Robert “Bob” LeRette of Omaha, formerly of North Platte, died Jan. 31, 2001, at Omaha.
Mr. LeRette is survived by a daughter, M. Sharron (Jay) Moon of Greeley, Colo.; a granddaughter, Jodi J. Moon of Denver; a grandson, Robert W. (Gail) Moon of San Diego; a great-granddaughter, Laurie Marie Moon of San Diego; a sister, Irene Loughlin of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Frances LeRette of Omaha; a brother, Charles W. (Lou) LeRette of Dubuque, Iowa; a special friend, Edith Bennett of Lincoln; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, W. Pearl LeRette; his parents, Charles and Ida LeRette; a sister, Florence; and four brothers, Clarence, Ernist, Lester and Herbert.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roeder Mortuary 108th Street Chapel in Omaha. Burial will be in the Hancock Cemetery in Hancock, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Daniel A. O’Brien
Daniel Allen O’Brien, 70, of North Platte died Jan. 31, 2001, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born Jan. 6, 1931, to John L. and Elva Mae Stingley O’Brien at the Shamrock Ranch near Wallace. He was raised and attended school in Wallace, graduating from Wallace High School in 1948. After graduation he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for a year.
In December 1949, he married Dolores Clough. He was a heavy equipment operator for various places throughout his life, the last being for Cement Products in North Platte.
On March 30, 1979, he married Barbara Jolliffe Engleman in Holyoke, Colo.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2839. He enjoyed sports, watching westerns on television and the outdoors.
Mr. O’Brien is survived by his wife, two daughters, Betty Sides of Grant and Terri Ochsner of Santa Clara, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Chris (Roger) Effenbeck of North Platte; five stepsons, Harold “Punk” Harriman of North Platte, Randy Engleman and special friend Virginia Thompson of Sutherland, Steve, Terry (Wendy) and Kevin Engleman, all of North Platte; a sister, Pat (Junior) Schwenk of North Platte; a brother, Jack (Alene) O’Brien of Wallace; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Edward Engleman and a grandson, Michael Thompson.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Perry Edwards officiating. Inurnment will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
The body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today and prior to service time Monday at the funeral home in North Platte.
Wanda Bundy
OGALLALA — Wanda Lee Bundy, 73, died Jan. 31, 2001, at Manor Care in Topeka, Kan.
She was born March 13, 1927, in Linden, Iowa, to Clarence and Lorna Bookout. She moved with her family to North Platte, where she graduated from the North Platte High School.
On Sept. 30, 1961, she married Don Bundy in Hannah, Wyo. They farmed and raised livestock in the Big Springs and Ogallala areas for many years before moving to Hugo, Okla., in 1981. While in Hugo, they provided a loving home for many foster grandchildren. They moved to Topeka in 1998.
Mrs. Bundy is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Bill) Kealy of Brule and Pamela (Ray) Moore of Topeka; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Patrick Kealy of Brule, Kimberly (Brian) Burnett of Claremore, Okla., and Greg Moore of Oklahoma City; and a brother, Forrest Bookout of Lawrence, Kan.
Her husband preceded her in death July 8, 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gubser Funeral Chapel in Ogallala with the Rev. Phil Ewert of First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Gubser Funeral Home.
Glenda Marie Coyne
Glenda Marie Coyne, 57, of North Platte died Jan. 30, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1943, in North Platte to Kelly Glen and Evelyn Marie Johnson Morgan. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1961.
Surviving her is her mother, Evelyn Wonch; a sister, Paulette (Bill) Hartnell of Lebanon, Ore.; a brother, Ron (Karen) Hepler of North Platte; two nieces; and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Jake Hepler; and a brother, Rick Morgan.
Memorials are suggested to the Callahan Cancer Center or cardiac rehabilitation at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
The body was cremated and private family services are planned.

Erma Alice Harvey
Erma A. Harvey, 86, of North Platte died Jan. 28, 2001, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1914, to Peter A. and Ella Harvey in Howard County. She attended school in Maxwell, Brady and Sutherland, and she graduated from Hershey High School.
She had worked in county government since 1953, including in the county treasurer’s office, county attorney’s office and as the secretary-bailiff for the judge of the district court.
Miss Harvey was selected for the Woman of Achievement in Government Award in 1987. In 1984, she received the Lincoln County Bar Association Law Day Award. She was president of the Nebraska Business and Professional Women in 1970-1971. She was also chosen that organization’s “Woman of the Year.”
She was a parliamentarian and an expert in Roberts Rules of Order. She was a member of the Toastmistress Club and BPW since 1958 and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
In addition to all of these offices and memberships, she was secretary of the Methodist Church administrative board for 15 years. She also served as a board member of the North Platte Oddfellows Housing Corp., and was the only woman on the board. She had traveled extensively around the world. She enjoyed her family and friends, the theater and good music, especially Lawrence Welk.
Survivors include several great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a niece, Phyllis (Edward) Spurgeon of Scottsbluff, and two nephews, Stacy and Rory Myers of Phoenix, and a special friend, Frank Sander of North Platte.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Mabel Myers and Verna Garber; a brother, Alvin Harvey; a nephew, Marvin Garber; and a great-nephew, Jim Garber.
A memorial has been established to the church circle or to the donor’s choice.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. David Lux officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to service time today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
Vernon H. Sellers
Vernon H. Sellers, 85, of North Platte, formerly of Wellfleet, died Jan. 29, 2001, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.
He was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Wellfleet to Leo R. and Lola Pearl Lawrence Sellers. He served in the U.S. Army with the 204th Quartermaster Battalion during World War II in North Africa and Italy.
On July 25, 1959, he married Shirley McCall Ringland. They moved to North Platte. He ranched in the Wellfleet area.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Quarter Horse Association, P.R. Halligan American Legion Post 163 and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse.
Mr. Sellers is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cheryl Sellers of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lois Hall of Brewster and Donna (Orville) Coykendall of North Platte; three brothers, Erceil (Vera) of Hayes Center, Harrison (Marion) of Wellfleet and Stanley (Devona) of Maywood; two sisters-in-law, Esther Sellers of Maywood and Roselma (Oscar) Flebbe of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two granddaughters, Elaine (David) Hagebush of San Ramon, Calif., and Brenda Babcock of Lawrence, Kan.; four great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence; an infant sister; and an infant brother.
A memorial has been established.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Lux officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.

Glenda Marie Coyne
Glenda Marie Coyne, 57, of North Platte died Jan. 30, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1943, in North Platte to Kelly Glen and Evelyn Marie Johnson Morgan. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1961.

Darrell L. Johnson
MAXWELL — Darrell L. Johnson, 80, of Maxwell died Jan. 29, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1921, to Harry and Pearl Moore Johnson at North Platte. He was raised in Brady, where he graduated in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He taught school south of Brady, in Maxwell and Edgar.
The body was cremated. There will be no visitation or services at his request.

Esther Colleen Haney
Esther Colleen Haney, 35, of North Platte died Jan. 29, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1965, in North Platte to Darrel Robert and Esther Colleen Babcock Haney. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1983 and then attended Mid-Plains Community College for three years.
Miss Haney owned Chy Ceramic Studio for five years before becoming a waitress at the Depot Cafe for three or four years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte.
Survivors include four sisters, Carol Ingalls of Houston, Pat (Phil) Felton of Glendale, Ariz., Connie (Rick) Rush of Lees Summit, Mo., and Trudy (Tim) McFadden of Gothenburg; three brothers, Mike and Wes Haney, both of North Platte, and Joe (Laura) Haney of Denver; a grandmother, Lois Hadley of North Platte; 11 nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alfonso Paul Haney; and a nephew, Shaun Haney.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and Great Plains Hospice.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Mike Guevara officiating.
Inturment will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte.
