Michael Kuchtey

PORTSMOUTH - Michae* Mike" Kuchtey, 88, of 187 Wentworth Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.

He was born in 1914 in North Conway and was raised in Berlin.

Mr. Kuchtey was the founder and co-owner of Mike’s Marina where he built many of the structures that still exist at the site on Wentworth Road. He had previously been an electrical engineer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

The widower of Dunya Kuchtey, he is survived one daughter, Joan Gittlein of Rye Beach; two sons, Michael Kuchtey of Portsmouth and Richard Kuchtey of Maui, Hawaii; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Katherine Dayton and Olga Walker of Claremont.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Middle Street Baptist Church, 18 Court St., Portsmouth.

Following the services there will be an open house at the home of Kimberly Bosma, 180 Odiorne Point Road, Portsmouth.

David W. Moeller

SEABROOK - David W. Moeller, 39, of Washington Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass.

He was born April 16, 1963, in Brunswick, Maine, the son of Joseph F. and Evelyn L. (Boudin) Moeller of Bowdoinham, Maine.

He was a 1981 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School, Topsham, Maine.

Mr. Moeller was a heavy equipment mechanic for Lane Construction. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4, for 17 years, working in the Boston area and while living in Bowdoinham he was a member of the Bowdoinham Fire Department.

He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed smelt fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Diane E. Mattson Blastow of Seabrook; two stepsons, Brett Chansky of Rochester and Bryan Chansky of Somersworth; three stepdaughters, Nicole Blastow, Kimberly Blastow and Katlynn Blastow , all of Seabrook; one brother, Joseph Moeller of Brunswick; three sisters, Mary Coldsnow of Floral City, Fla., Debra Douglass of Bowdoinham and Cathy Rackley of Topsham; and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon in the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, with the Rev. Charles Reed officiating. Spring burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Dresden, Maine.

Constance Morin

CARMEL, Maine - Constance (Reed) Verrill Morin, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at her home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Hall Quarry, Maine, the daughter of Catherine M. (Higgins) Reed of Bangor, Maine, and the late Archie G. Reed. She had resided in Exeter for many years before returning to Maine.

She was a 1949 graduate of Hampden (Maine) Academy.

Mrs. Morin retired from Exeter and Hampton Electric Company after many years of service.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three brothers, Gilbert H. Reed of Carmel, with whom she made her home, Neal C. Reed of Florida, and Allan G. Reed of Massachusetts; four sisters, Tharon R. Carmichael of Rockland, Maine, Lois A. Tibbetts and Christine E. Reardon, both of Florida, and Nancy Chase of Vermont; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by first husband, Rodney E. Verrill; one daughter, Donna Lynn Morin; and one brother, Vernon Reed.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Island Falls Cemetery,

Howard A. Sederquist

SEABROOK - Howard Augustus Sederquist, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation in Exeter.

He was born July 5, 1912, in Manchester, the son of the late Howard E. and Josephine S. (Benoit) Sederquist. He was raised in Lynn, Mass., and had resided in Seabrook since 1964 coming from Saugus, Mass.

He was educated in Lynn schools and was a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy, New London, Conn.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Merchant Marines on a freighter as a stationary engineer. During the time that he served the freighters that he was on made the Murmansk Run many times and he survived two sinkings by German U-Boats.

Mr. Sederquist was a stationary engineer in Building 99 at the General Electric Riverworks Plant, Lynn, retiring in 1967 after 22 years of service.

He was a classical pianist and violinist. While in the Merchant Marines he enjoyed amateur boxing. He also enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, gardening, snowmobiling and motorcyling. He was a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Lynn.

He is survived by his care givers, Marianne Gibbons of Seabrook; Gerald Lassell of Washington, Maine; one son, Howard A. Sederquist of Beverly, Mass.; one grandson; and children from a previous marriage.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Terence W. Reece

PELHAM - Terence W. Reece, 46, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 10, 1956, in Limestone, Maine, the son of William T. and Joyce L. (Inman) Reece.

He was a 1974 graduate of Caribou (Maine) High School and attended Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute.

Mr. Reece was a mechanical foreman for Methuen Construction Co., Salem.

He served as an adviser for the Venturing-Crew 39, Boy Scouts of America, Pelham, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joan F. (Cayer) Reece of Pelham; one son, Jacob T. Reece of Pelham; one brother, Carter Reece of East Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one nephew.

Funeral services were held Thursday in the Pelham Funeral Home, Pelham. Burial was in Gibson Cemetery.

Makayla Mae Syvertson

LEE - Makayla Mae Syvertson, 5 months, of 3 Little Hook Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at her home.

She was born Aug. 26, 2002, in Exeter, the daughter of Tiffany Anne Syvertson.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Karl and Shirley (Hochmuth) Syvertson of Lee; her maternal great-grandparents, Frank C. and his wife, Eileen Hochmuth of Venice, Fla., Ann Hochmuth of Anchorage, Alaska, and Roy and Madaline Syvertson of South Hampton; her maternal great-great-grandparents, Charles and Clyda Christenson and Marjorie Emery; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert K. Gray Jr. Funeral Home, 24 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon in the funeral home.

Cynthia M. Thibault

ANDOVER, Mass. - Cynthia Mary "Kiddy" (Mithen) Thibault, 50, of 21 Carter Lane, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Mass., as the result of an aneurysm suffered while skiing on Mount Sunapee two weeks ago.

She was born April 30, 1952, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of Joseph F. and Irene P. (Rouff) Mithen Sr. of Lawrence. She had summered at Seabrook Beach for several years.

She was educated in Lawrence schools and was a 1970 graduate of St. Patrick High School and a 1972 graduate of Chandler Secretarial College, Boston.

Mrs. Thibault and her husband founded Tibo Lumber in Methuen, Mass. She retired in 1983 to become a homemaker. She had previously been an administrative assistant at Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, Mass.

She was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed golf and skiing. She was a member of the Andover Country Club and was a former member of Cedardale Athletic Club, Haverhill, Mass.

She was an active communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover and was a volunteer at St. Augustine School serving as a room mother and lunch lady.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, L. Benoit Thibault of Andover; two sons, Trevor B. Thibault and Jordan S. Thibault, both of Andover; one daughter, Cristina C. Thibault of Andover; one sister, Patricia Mithen of Methuen; two brothers, Joseph F. Mithen Jr. and Steven W. Mithen of Hudson; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in St. Augustine Church, Essex Street, Andover.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Augustine School Endowment Fund, Central St., Andover, MA 01810.

Arrangements are by the Robert K Gray Jr. Funeral Home, Hampton.

Leo F. Bourque

HOPATCONG, N.J. - Leo F. Bourque, 61, of 4 Maxim Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Leo Bourque and Jacqueline P. (Lambert) Bourque.

He was a 1959 graduate of Exeter High School, a graduate of McIntosh College, Dover, and IBM Plus, Boston.

Mr. Bourque was a computer systems representative with UNISYS in New York for 35 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of the Sons of the Legion, Squadron 32 of Exeter; and an avid golfer.

He is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Manix of Exeter; three daughters, Heidi Gleason of Northborough, Mass., Lisa Bourque of Berkley Heights, N.J., and Heather Bourque of Queens, N.Y.; and one grandson.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery.

Elma V. Boutilier

EXETER - Elma V. Boutilier, 91, formerly of 5 Auburn St., died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Exeter Hospital.

She was born March 31, 1911, in Argyle, New Brunswick, Canada, and became an American citizen in November of 1942.

The widow of Hadley G. Boutilier, who died in 1961, she is survived by three sons, Garfield R. Boutilier of Jensen Beach, Fla., Robert L. Boutilier of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ralph I. Boutilier of Santee, Calif.; six grandsons; and five great-grandsons.

Memorial services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Violet C. Daly

EXETER - Violet C. Daly, 87, of 26 Washington St., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.

She was born March 3, 1915, in Boston, the daughter of the late John and Olga C. (Rasmonson) Carter Greenlaw. She resided most of her life in Haverhill, Mass., in Kensington for 12 years and in Ossipee since 1997.

She was a graduate of Haverhill High School.

Mrs. Daly was a former Avon sales representative for many years and had also worked at Sears Roebuck in Haverhill.

The widow of Maurice S. Daly, she is survived by one daughter, Joyce Clarke of Danville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Maurice S. Daly Jr.

Friends may call Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front Street, Exeter. Spring burial will be in Village Cemetery, Kensington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
