Nancy Lee Braley

EPPING - Nancy Lee Braley, 56, of Main Street, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 3, 1947, in Exeter, the daughter of Henry Dionne of Epping, and the late Blanche (Landry) Dionne and was a lifelong resident of Epping.

Mrs. Braley was a CNA at the Rockignahm County Nursing Home, Brentwood, and at the former Goodwin’s of Exeter.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, arts and crafts, and was an avid gardener.

The widow of James Braley, who died in 1994, in addition to her father, she is survived by one son, Jeff Braley of Barrington; three daughters, Lisa Miller of Exeter, Melissa Braley of Sudbury, Mass., and Sara Johnson of Barrington; five grandchildren; one sister, Linda Dionne of Raymond; one brother, Ronald Dionne of Epping; several nieces and nephews; and her companion, Steve Barbett of North Hampton.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping, with the Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping.

Frieda Bourdon

DOVER - Frieda Bourdon, 82, of Central Towers, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.

She was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Concord, the daughter of the late Pearl and Maud (Clair) Chamberlain. She lived most of her life in Epping and had resided in Dover for the past 20 years.

Mrs. Bourdon was a fancy stitcher for National Shoe Co. in Epping for several years.

She enjoyed listening to music and was an avid bingo player.

The widow of Wilfred Bourdon Sr., who died in 1986, she is survived by two sons, Wilfred "Bill" Bourdon Jr. of Dover and Larry Bourdon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Regina Crowell of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping.

Luraina J. Brown

AMESBURY, Mass. - Luraina J. Brown, 70, of 24 Heritage Vale, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born June 27, 1932, in Seabrook, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Gladys E. Bickford. She was raised in Seabrook had resided in Epping for many years and in Amesbury for the past 12 years.

She was educated in Seabrook schools.

Mrs. Brown was a nurse’s aide at Rockingham County Nursing Home, The Greenleaf and Companion Care.

She enjoyed playing bingo and gambling.

The widow of George J. Brown Sr., who died in 1981, she is survived by seven sons, Benjamin D. Brown of Derry, George J. Brown Jr. of Concord, Raymond C. Brown of Epping, Kenneth E. Brown of Salisbury, Mass., Harold T. Brown of Amesbury, Michael J. Brown of Hampton and Richard A. Brown of Raymond; three daughters, Laura L. Roy of Raymond, Lurena Eaton of Barrington and MaryJane Evans of Epping; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Chapman of Epping; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Bickford and Carl Bickford; and one sister, Mildred Tuttle.

Calling hours were held Monday evening. There are no funeral services planned.

Memorial donations may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. No. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.

Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Joseph J. Fiumara

MANCHESTER - Joseph J. Fiumara, 65, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born April 14, 1938, in Boston, the son of Louise (Staal) Fiumara of Jamaica Plain, Mass., and the late Joseph J. Fiumara. He had resided at Hampton Beach for several years and at the Medical Center for the past two years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Fiumara owned the former Drop Anchor Motel at Hampton Beach . He worked as a private investigator and was a real estate agent.

He was a member of the New Hampshire League of Investigators.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Michelle Montgomery of Center Barnstead and Jennifer Bryer of Trevette, Maine; two grandchildren; his former wife, Mary G. Marshall of Seabrook; one brother, John E. Fiumara of Pembroke, Mass.; three sisters, Jeannine Pope of Seabrook, Grace Pacheco of Centerville, Mass., and Rosemary Dunn of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Delores Fiumara.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, 7 Millbrook Road, Wilton, NH 03086 or to Fathers and Families, P.O. Box 1484, Boston, MA 02117.

Mildred B. Jarosz

HAMPTON - Mildred B. Jarosz, 83, of 698 Lafayette Road, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Chicago, the daughter of the late George and Angeline (Guzy) Wujcik, moving to Hampton in 1985.

Mrs. Jarosz was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a member of the International Order of Forresters.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Andrew L. Jarosz of Hampton; one son and his wife, Philip and Margaret Jarosz of Hampton; one daughter and her husband, Sharon and David Medley of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Wujcik and John Wujcik, both of South Holland, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Kolton of Lancing, Ill., and Lorraine DeLisio of Tinley Park, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Sylvester Wujcik; and one sister, Stella Zapchenk.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. Burial was in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

Memorial donations may be made to OLMM Outreach, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Bonnie M. Putnam

EXETER - Bonnie M. Putnam, 38, of 6 Sumac St., died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was born Aug. 4, 1964, in Camp Lejeune, N.C., the daughter of Leslie V. Bishop of Missouri and the late Judith A. (Blakeney) Bishop. She was raised in Worcester, Mass.

She was a graduate of Burncoat High School and attended Quisigomond Community College in Worcester.

Mrs. Putnam was employed by Allegro-Tyco of Exeter in the telecommunications division.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, motorcycles, crocheting and coaching her son’s Little League team.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 11 years, Scott A. Putnam of Exeter; one son, Hunter S. Putnam of Exeter; one daughter, Victoria A. Putnam of Exeter; one brother, James S. Bishop Sr. of Auburn, Mass.; two sisters, Tammy L. Bishop and Laurie Kalvinek, both of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Michael Church, Front St., Exeter. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter.

Shirley C. Sturtevant

GREENLAND - Shirley Copp Sturtevant, 77, of Cemetery Lane, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 in Exeter Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1925, in Brentwood, the daughter of the late Harold and Carol (Garside) Copp.

She attended Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter.

Mrs. Sturtevant was employed by New England Telephone and AT&T for 35 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the Greenland Community Congregational Church; Pioneers Club for retired telephone operators; the Wednesday lunch group; and the Carrie Beck Guild.

The widow of Clyde Sturtevant Jr., she is survived by one son and his wife, Charles and Bobbi Sturtevant of North Hampton; two daughters and their husbands, Jerri and Paul LeMaitre of North Hampton and Naomi and Dan Phoenix of Eliot, Maine; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Copp of Westbrook, Maine, and Alfred Copp of Exeter; her friend, Joyce Massaro of Stratham; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, Clyde "Butch" Sturtevant III.

Funeral services were held Monday in the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth.

Memorial donations may be made to the Greenland Veterans Memorial Scholarship Fund, Box 13, Greenland, NH 03840.

John D. Goethel

HAMPTON - Services for John D. "Jack" Goethel will be held Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

Mr. Goethel, 79, died April 16, 2003.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Seafood Coalition, P.O. Box 155, Essex, MA 01929.

A. Shirley McKeever

NORTH HAMPTON - A. Shirley McKeever, 79, of 29 Mill Road, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Exeter Hospital.

She was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late James and Martha (Quigley) Walsh. She moved to Hampton 40 years ago and had resided in North Hampton for 20 years.

She was a 1942 graduate of Roslindale High School, Boston.

Mrs. McKeever worked for Yankee Greyhound in Seabrook since the track’s opening in 1972.

The widow of Edward J. McKeever, who died in 1971, she is survived by four grandchildren, Shawn P. Merchant and Michele T. Preziosi, both of North Hampton, Darcy E. Neeper of Raymond and Nicole C. Merchant of Rochester; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one daughter, R. Deidre Merchant.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

There are no services planned.

Frederick Andrew Kleczek

ELYRIA, Ohio - Frederick Andrew Kleczek, 75, passed away on May 5 after fighting a lengthy illness.

Fred lived most of his life in Newmarket, N.H., and lived the last five years with daughter Lisa Heginbotham (nee Kleczek) and son-in-law Chip Heginbotham of Elyria, Ohio.

A very giving honest man and loving father, he spent 20 years in the USAF, 1946-1966, and most of his working career at JD Cahill Company in Hampton, N.H.

His loves and pastimes included his granddaughters, Sara and Emily, coin collecting, teasing his son-in-law about Ohio sports teams, discussing politics, and keeping up with current news issues about his home of New Hampshire.

Freddy "Fuzz" had many friends and family who will miss him dearly. His family includes: Lisa, Chip, Emily and Sara Heginbotham; Tracy Atkins (nee Kleczek) and Keith Atkins; Ruby, Ricky, Courtney and Ted Kleczek; MaryJo Wachter and family; Judy Newby and family; and many other nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bresideski; his father, Andrew Kleczek; sisters Helen, Alice, and Stella; and brother Steve.

Marilyn Spencer

TAMPA, Fla. - Marilyn Spencer, 70, formerly of Newfields, died April 7, 2003, in Tampa.

She was born in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of James and Edith (Redford) Daley and moved to Newfields as a teen-ager.

She was a 1950 graduate of Robinson Female Seminary, Exeter.

Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Florida.

The widow of Robert Spencer, she is survived by two sons, Robert Spencer Jr., and James Spencer, both of Rhode Island; several grandchildren; her stepmother, Virginia Fearns of Newmarket; two sisters, Edith Pickance of Nottingham and Patricia Edgerly of Newfields; two brothers, James Daley of Newfields and Michael Daley of Stratham; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside memorial services will be held May 17 at 10 a.m. in Newfields Cemetery, Route 108, Newfields.
