Thomas M. Dwyer Sr.

EPPING - Thomas Michael Dwyer Sr., 54, of Hedding Campground, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born June 1, 1949, in Saugus, Mass., and had resided in Epping for 10 years.

Mr. Dwyer was well known in the local communities for his cooking talent and running the Rockingham Golf League.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis McDonough; two sons, Thomas M. Dwyer Jr. and Timothy Flowers; two daughters, Danielle Dwyer and Kimberly Moody; two brothers, Ted Dwyer and David Dwyer; daughters and sons-in-law; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life and memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. in Chautauqua Hall, Hedding Campground. A gathering will follow at his son’s home at 1 Hedding Ave. in Hedding Campground. Everyone is encouraged to bring pictures and stones to celebrate Tom’s life.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping.

Ronald W. Ernest

BARRINGTON - Ronald Warren Ernest, 59, of 20 Roberts Road, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 9, 1944, in Exeter, the son of the late Ronald E. and Elsie (Elliott) Ernest. He had resided in Exeter for many years before moving to Barrington 5 years ago.

Mr. Ernest worked in the maintenance department at Madison Resources in Portsmouth and was formerly a superintendent at Al Rose Shoe Co. in Exeter.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid bingo player.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Helen (Tidd) Ernest of Barrington; four step-children; three brothers, Alvin Ernest of Brentwood, and Timothy Dionne and Mark Dionne, both of Manchester; six sisters, Sharon Gauthier of Epping, Cindy Bowley of Danville, Edna Dionne of Raymond, Heidi Byrne of Epping, Gloria Kolesar of Milton and Sandra Denyou of Epping; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Ernest.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110.

Carol M. Morin

EXETER - Carol M. Morin, 60, of 95 Court St., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at her home.

She was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles G. and Kathryn V. (Keegan) Bashaw. She lived most of her life in North Andover, Mass., moving to Exeter in 1997.

She was a graduate of North Andover High School and attended Carnegie Institute in Boston.

Mrs. Morin was a childcare worker at the Early Childhood Learning Center in North Andover for several years.

She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a member and co-president of the Seabreeze Quilters Guild.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, William J. Morin of Exeter; two sons, Paul and his wife Claudia M. Morin of Exeter and Stephen C. Morin of Chicago; two daughters, Lori A. Morin of Worcester, Mass., and Susan E. Morin of Beverly, Mass.; two grandsons; one sister, Arlene B. Robertson of Lee, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front Street, Exeter. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter, NH 03833.

Isabella J. Nixon

BEDFORD - Isabella J. Nixon, 98, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003.

She was born May 19, 1905, in Napan, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Isabella (Tallon) McKnight. She had resided in Auburn before moving to Bedford in 1960.

She trained as a nurse at Wakefield Memorial Hospital in Wakefield, Mass.

Mrs. Nixon was a devoted homemaker and was fond of Longmeadow Farm in Auburn, the family farm.

The widow of Frederick H. Nixon, who died in 1956, she is survived by one daughter, Dorothy I. Nixon of Bedford; two sons, Frederick H. "Ted" Nixon Jr. of Hampton and Roy E. Nixon of Bedford; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude "Trudie" MacDonald of Napan; one brother, Walter McKnight of Napan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one grandson, John Nixon.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Goodwin Funeral Home, Manchester. Burial followed in Longmeadow Cemetery, Auburn.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Mary T. Stewart

SEABROOK - Mary T. Stewart, 79, of 81 Railroad Ave., died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

She was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late Louis F. and Mary E. (Griffin) Stanger. She was raised in Somerville and resided in Salem, Mass., for many years before retiring to Seabrook in 1987.

She was a 1940 graduate of Somerville High School.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of RSVP and the Happy Seniors of Seabrook, where she served as the trip coordinator for several years.

She was a member of the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 70 of Seabrook; a former member and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary in Salem; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Peabody and Ipswich, Mass.

She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing bingo.

The widow of John W. Stewart, who died in 1997, she is survived by one nephew, Michael Stanger of Great Cacapon, W.V.; one niece, Rosemary Stanger of Bluemont, Va., one sister-in-law, Jean T. Stanger of Berryville, Va.; one grandniece, one grandnephew and two great-grandnephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Francis C. Stanger; and one sister, Ann N. Fitzgerald.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in Star of the Sea Church, Salisbury, Mass.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Justin D. Chabot

HAMPTON - Justin D. Chabot, 16, of 18 Penniman Lane and Goffstown, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Goffstown from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Feb. 12, 1987, in Manchester, the son of Daniel R. Chabot of Goffstown and Caryl (Dow) Welch of Hampton, and lived most of his life in Hampton.

Justin was a lifeguard at Water Country in Portsmouth and would have been a junior at Winnacunnet High School in September.

He enjoyed baseball, football and snowboarding at Sugarloaf USA, and was known as the family comedian.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Thomas Welch of Hampton; his stepmother, Sheri Chabot of Goffstown; three brothers, Jacob A. Chabot of Goffstown, T.J. Welch of Hampton and Tyler W. Brooks of Goffstown; two sisters, Chelsae A. Gagne and Melissa N. Gagne, both of Goffstown; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Marjorie Dow Jr. of Tuftonboro; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Cecile Chabot of Manchester; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Justin’s life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. The family requests that bright and cheerful clothing be worn to the celebration. Following cremation, private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Louise E. Dagostino

EXETER - Louise E. Dagostino, 83, of Oak Street Extension, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Exeter Healthcare following a period of failing health.

She was born June 22, 1920, in Brighton, Mass., the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Iannarelli) Dagostino, and had resided in Exeter for many years.

She attended St. Columbine School in Brighton and St. Mary’s School in Dover.

Miss Dagostino worked for the family’s Exeter Rose Farms, which they founded in 1939.

She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, and enjoyed knitting and receiving teddy bears.

She is survived by three brothers, Tony Dagostino, Benny Dagostino and Frank Dagostino, all of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery.

Mark Dolmat

EXETER - Mark Dolmat, 53, of 4 Alumni Drive, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Exeter Healthcare after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 2, 1950, in Brighton, Mass., and had resided in Kingston and in Exeter for many years.

Mr. Dolmat had worked for several years for Public Service Co. of New Hampshire at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant. In 1985 he suffered a brainstem infarction which left him immobile, and he had resided at Exeter Healthcare since then.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching television.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica; one sister, Nancy Martino of Barrington; and many aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his mother, Nancy A. (Mansfield) Martino; and one brother, Michael Dolmat.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Exeter Healthcare, 4 Alumni Drive, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Pearl W. Girouard

HAMPTON - Pearl W. Girouard, 89, of 12 Hobbs Road, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Haven Health at Seacoast.

She was born June 1, 1914, in Hampton, the daughter of the late John B. and Sara (Sutton) Woodburn, and was a lifelong resident of Hampton.

She attended Hampton Academy.

Mrs. Girouard and her husband owned and operated Girouard’s Supermarket in Seabrook for 12 years.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, Hampton, and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rodney Girouard; one son, Paul Archibald of Rochester; two grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Woodburn of Hampton; one sister, Mabel Taylor of Hampton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Carolyn Godbout

RAYMOND - Carolyn Godbout, 61, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at her son’s home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 11, 1942, in South Berwick, Maine, the daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Donahue) Keniston.

Mrs. Godbout was a barmaid at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Maple Wheadon Post 4479 in Raymond for many years.

She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 4479 and was very active with VFW functions.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, John Flanagan of Raymond; two daughters, Diane Shover of South Berwick and Colleen Yergeau of Madbury; four grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Monahan of Rowley, Mass., and Kathleen Stovall of Parkensburg, W.V.; one brother, Joseph M. Keniston of Chesepekee, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Monday in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the Rev. Mike Taylor of St. Joseph Church, Epping, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 4479 Ladies Auxiliary or to Rockingham VNA & Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.
