MELVILLE JOHN MOONEY SR

MELVILLE JOHN MOONEY SR, 69, Dance Hall Road, died suddenly Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, NH.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, the son of Joseph and Bertha (Broughton) Mooney.

He attended local schools.

He worked for Fairbanks Morse as well as Gilman Paper Mill as a foundry worker.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling, cookouts, but most of all his family.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Theodore Mooney, his three sisters Laura Carpenter, Marie Mason, and Marion Mooney.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Arda (Switser) Mooney, Lunenburg, VT, three sons Melville John Mooney Jr. and Christine Thompson, Glover, VT, David Carroll Mooney and wife Sara, Littleton, NH, Joseph Allen Mooney and wife Cherie, Concord, VT, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009, 11:00 AM, at the Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel, with Reverend Lyn Winter officiating.

Roland L. Richards

Roland L. Richards, 78, died at his home in Lisbon, NH Saturday September 5, 2009.

He was born in Lyman, NH, the son of Raymond Richards and Doris Sargent Richards.

He joined the Navy in February 1952.

He served on the USS Cadmus AR 14 based in Norfolk, VA. He married Elaine M. Drapeau May 31, 1952 in Littleton, NH and they lived in Norfolk for four years while he was in the service.

They returned to Littleton to live.

He had his own truck for some time hauling gravel.

He farmed on the Willowdale Farm, and shipped milk and was a mechanic for G. A. Clark & Sons in Lisbon, NH for many years.

He opened his own business of Small Engines & Repair Shop.

Later he went to work for Sanels and Bonds Auto Shop doing deliveries.

After he became ill he would love to go riding with the guys in the truck delivering.

That really made his day.

He always said he was going back to work. He like to fish, hunt, snowmobile (was a member of the Lisbon Stump Jumpers Club), but his most favorite was building his race cars and going racing.

He was pre-deceased by a brother William Richards and a sister Margaret Tewksbury.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Richards of 57 years, three sons Gary Richards of Chesapeake, VA and wife Jan, Michael Richards and wife Cindy of Lisbon, NH, David Richards and wife Helen of Bath, NH, three daughters Diane Thompson and husband George of Littleton, NH, Debora Shifflett and husband Richard and Laurie Rueda of Littleton, NH. Eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two brothers Richard (Tink) Richards, Lisbon, NH, Robert Richards, Littleton, NH, a sister Alice Moulton (foster sister) Lyman, NH, plus nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the St. Rose Cemetery with Military Honors.

Donations may be made in Rolands memory to North Country Home Health & Hospice, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH, 03561.

The Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel, has the privilege of these arrangements.

Gilbert E. Towle

Gilbert E. Towle, 85, born in 1923 in Whitfield, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009. The eldest son of Bert E. and Doris L (Towle) Northey.

Gilbert lived his first 30 years in the Littleton area on his family’s farms (both in North Littleton and the Lisbon Road locations) until he decided to travel throughout the western United States.

Settling in Phoenix Arizona, he married Myrtle Doris (French) Towle.

Together they had many happy years.

He is survived by his sister Wilna (Willie) and husband George Hicks of Littleton, and brother Albert C. and wife A. Lucille Towle of St. Johnsbury, Vt.

He is predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Olive Whitman of West Newbury Vt., Elizabeth Erwin of Thetford Center, Vt. and Louise Stevens of Medford Ma and two brothers, Lawrence Towle Sr. of Littleton and Charles Perkins of Woodsville.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 8 at 2 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery in Littleton.

There will be no calling hours.

All are welcome to attend.

TOMPKINS, Helen, 83 of Whitefield

passed away February 5th, 2001 in Manchester.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, February 8th from Saint Mathews Catholic Church, Jefferson Road, Whitefield,NH.

FENOFF, Gloria Elaine, 63 of Lisbon

passed away February 4th, 2001 at home.

The funeral was February 7th.

Memorial donations may be made to White Mountain Mental Health, 29 Maple Street, Littleton,NH.

ATWOOD, Douglas F, 44 of Carroll

passed away February 3rd, 2001 at home.

Interment will be in Straw Cemetery in the spring.

HERZOG, Eric C., 49 of Landaff

passed away February 3rd, 2001 at the Littleton Regional Hospital.

Burial will be in Landaff Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

EVANS, Raymond Willard, 91, of Evans Road, Twin Mountain.

passed away April 4th, 2001 at Morrison Nursing Home, Whitefield.

Friends may call at the Ross Funeral Home's Whitefield Chapel on Saturday, April 2nd, from 1-2PM. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be on May 19th in St. Margaret's Cemetery in Twin Mountain.

HALEY, William "Bud", 76, of Whitefield

passed away March 28th, 2001 at home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Time and place to be announced.

TAYLOR, Warren J., MD, 79, of Franconia

passed away March 30th, 2001 at home.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 3rd at 11:00AM at the Sugar Hill Community Church.

SOUTHWORTH, Laurence E., 58, of Lyman.

passed away May 24, 2001 at Littleton Regional Hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Monday, May 28, from 1:00 to 3:00PM at the Lisbon Town Hall.

TUCKER, William E. Jr, 83, of Sugar Hill and New York, NY

passed away at his New York home on October 19th.

Funeral services will be held October 24th at 4:00PM at the Sugar Hill Community Church. Burial will immediately follow the service.

SKILLIN, Forest W., 78, of Colonial Court, Littleton

Died October 14, 2001 at Littleton Regional Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20 at 1:00PM at the United Methodist Church, Main Street, Littleton. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton.
