Arthur Eschleman
Arthur Eschleman, 91, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, March 1, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

He was born June 17, 1914, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late William and Mary Ellen (Orr) Eschleman.

Mr. Eschleman was the husband of Caryl (Hoffman) Eschleman of Litchfield.

Arthur and his wife lived in Florida for 24 years until their move to New Hampshire in 2005. While in Florida, Arthur was a parishioner of St. Charles Church in Port Charlotte, Florida, and was a member of the Kingsway Country Club also in Port Charlotte.

Mr. Eschleman was an avid golfer and loved to play poker. He was a fan of the Florida Dolphins football team.

Arthur was predeceased by four brothers and one sister, and his daughter, Susan Eschleman Curtis, who died in January 2006.

Besides his loving wife, Caryl, Arthur is survived by one son, Dr. A. Robert Eschleman of Woodstock, Georgia; four grandchildren, Melinda O’Neill of Topsfield, Massachusetts, Patricia (P.J.) Curtis of Litchfield, Christine Curtis of Litchfield, Elby Gonsoulin of Canton, Georgia, and Edward Eschleman of Atlanta, Georgia; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial funeral mass was held on Tuesday, March 7 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. The family has requested that donations be sent to St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care Center in memory of Arthur's late daughter, Susan Eschleman Curtis, 172 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03060.

The Dumont - Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Marvin D. Loshblaugh
Marvin D. Loshbaugh, 63, of Hudson, died Thursday, February 23 at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

Mr. Loshbaugh was born June 6, 1942, in Brush, Coloroda, son of Howard and Opal (McCracken) Loshbaugh.

Marvin was the husband of Rita (Bourre) Loshbaugh, of Hudson, in which they shared 38 loving years together.

Mr. Loshbaugh dutifully served 20 years in the U.S. Navy specializing in submarines during the Vietnam Era. He was the recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation Medal. In 1982, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University and was a Technical Writer for many years at various corporations.

Mr. Loshbaugh, after living in various parts of the country, settled in Hudson, where he and his wife have resided for twenty years. Marvin was very active at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Nashua and was a Cub Master there with the Cub Scouts. He was also very interested in Genealogy Research, computers and gardening.

Marvin loved being called Pepere and enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Mr. Loshbaugh was predeceased by his father, Howard Loshbaugh.

Besides his loving wife, survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Darlene Loshbaugh of Riverton, Utah, and James Loshbaugh of Hudson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Charles Mitchell of Santaquinn, Utah, Catherine and Michael Ehlers, Jr., of Hudson, and Julie and Tony Lambias of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; his mother, Opal Loshbaugh of New Ulm, Minnesota; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Christine Loshbaugh of Irvine, California, and Robert and Raylene Loshbaugh of McCook, Nebraska; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lana and Doug Owens of New Ulm, Minnesota, Carol and Kurt Siats of St. Charles, Missouri, and Judy and Bart Bieker of Webster City, Iowa; nine dear grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Monday, February 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Nashua. In Marvin's memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110. The Dumont - Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Lillian C. Landry
Lillian C. “Gram” (Cyrus) Landry, 82, a resident of Pelham for 62 years, died Monday morning, February 13, at Lowell General Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of Donald H. Landry who survives her. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary earlier this year.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 25, 1923, the daughter of the late William and the late Anna (Conlin) Cyrus, she attended St. Patrick School in Boston and then in the Derry, New Hampshire schools.

She was a communicant at St. Patrick Church in Pelham.

Before retiring, Mrs. Landry worked in the cafeteria at Pelham High School for many years. She was affectionately knows as “Gram” to the many students and faculty members at the high school.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Pelham.

Mrs. Landry loved spending time with her husband and family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Elaine Zelonis and her husband, Richard, of Hudson, and Kathleen Beauregard and her companion, Lawrence Macionski, of Hampton Falls; a son, John M. Landry and his wife Lisa Anne of Pelham; a daughter-in-law Michelle J. Landry of Pelham; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, William Cyrus and his wife, Marie, of South Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Leo Cyrus and his wife, Theresa, of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Donald W. Landry and sister of the late Helen Carter, Mary McDonough, Rita Cyrus, and Joseph Cyrus.

Her funeral took place on February 16 at St. Patrick Church with burial at Gibson cemetery. Those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital, c/o the Development Office, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.

The Pelham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Henry ‘Sonny’ ‘Harry’ Arey, Jr.

Henry “Sonny” “Harry” Arey, Jr., 71, of State Street, Hudson, died Thursday, February 2 at his residence.

He was born August 30, 1934, in Somerville, Massachusetts, son of the late Henry, Sr., and Agnes (Thurber) Arey.

Mr. Arey was a United States Marine during the Korean War.

He was a senior systems engineer at Raytheon in Andover, Massachusetts, for 38 years. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed bowling, darts, and playing in various pool leagues. Harry also played for a hockey league for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Arey, in 1999.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Patrick and Nancy Arey of Gloucester, New Jersey; Michael and Marcella Arey of Glenburnie, Maryland; Gerald and Natalie Arey of Lynchburg, Virginia; and Kevin Arey of Hudson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa Langlais of Amherst, New Hampshire; and Kathleen and Scott Tice of Hudson; two stepsons, John Strange of Nashua and Scott Strange and his wife, Irena, of Jackson, New Hampshire; two stepdaughters, Kim McLain and her husband Dan of Greenville, New Hampshire; and Dawn Decoursey and her husband, Michael, of Nashua; a half-daughter, Lori-Anne Messina of Wareham, Massachusetts; two additional stepdaughters, Jacquelyn and Sandra Allaire; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Corinne McKee of Lowell, Massachusetts; Pauline and Dennis Brien of Merrimack, New Hampshire; 22 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service was on February 6 at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.

The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Oscar Campbell

Robert O. Campbell, 77, of Hudson, passed away on Friday, February 3, at home with his family, after a lengthy illness. He was the loving and devoted husband of Alice (Gordon) Campbell, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage on January 7.

He was a lifelong resident of Hudson, the son of the late Oscar P. and Louise M. (Jeannotte) Campbell. He was predeceased by a son, Robert, Jr., as well as sisters, Dorothy Hardy and Arlene Briand.

Mr. Campbell was a call firefighter for the Hudson Fire Department for over 45 years, retiring as deputy. In 2004, Bob was awarded the Distinguished Medal of Service from the Hudson Fire Department of which he was extremely proud.

In his younger years he had been employed by George Fuller Oil Company. He had owned and operated Campbell’s Fuel Oil for several years. In his later years he was employed by Hudson Water Company which later became Consumer’s Water, where Bob retired as a supervisor due to illness.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the American Legion Post 48 of Hudson; the Hudson Firefighter’s Relief Association; New Hampshire Fire Chief’s Association, serving on the executive board; and the New Hampshire Fire Warden’s Association.

Bob will be remembered as a tough individual, but fair and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all.

Besides his loving wife, survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Oscar “OP” and Shirley Campbell of Milford; four daughters and two-sons-in law, Cynthia and Charles Nutting of Hudson, Crystal Campbell of Henniker, New Hampshire; Candia Campbell and her longtime companion Tom Tomas of Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, and Catherine and Brian Sims of Sullivan, New Hampshire; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Schreiterer of Florida and Barbara Miller of Bedford, New Hampshire; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

The funeral ceremony and burial were private. A celebration of Bob’s life was held at the American Legion Post 48 of Hudson on February 6.

In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to the Firefighter’s Relief Fund, 15 Library Street, Hudson, NH 03051. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Richard E. Millard
Richard E. Millard, 81, of Lutz, Florida, died January 29.

Mr. Millard was a member of the Hudson, New Hampshire Lions Club, the Hudson American Legion, and a charter member of the Hudson Snowmen Snowmobile Club. He worked as a firefighter and emergency medication technician for the Town of Hudson, and later as a Building Inspector.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Arlene Bisol and her husband, Mark; Coleen Millard, and Gwyn Furtado and her husband, Chris; granddaughters Karen Vu and her husband Dr. Huy Vu, and Krista Mitchell; grandsons Brian and Tyler Furtado; and great grandsons Hunter and Alex Vu.

A memorial service to honor his life will be conducted at a later date.

The family requests donations be made to the Hudson Fire Department, 15 Library Street, Hudson, NH 03051 in Richard’s memory.

Olive M. Jordan
Olive M. Jordan, 78, of Pelham died January 23 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts, with her loving cousin, Joanne Sforza by her side.

Ollie was born in London, England, March 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Norah (Farrell) Smith and James Johnson. During World War II, she served in the British Land Army working on farms in place of me who were engaged in the war.

In the Red Cow Pub, north of Oxford, England, she met Sergeant Carl F. Jordan of the U. S. Army. They were married on July 21, 1951, and remained together until Carl passed away on June 6, 2000.

Olive is survived by a son, Jeffrey Marc Jordan and his wife Lee Gosselin of Mobile, Alabama; a daughter, Jo Ann Jordan Elias and her husband Attorney Thomas Elias of York, Maine; and two grandsons, Jordan Philip Elias and Berkeley Thomas Elias both of York, Maine.

A funeral mass was held on January 28 at St. Patrick Church in Pelham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital, Pediatric Oncology Department, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114. Pelham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Auguste “Gus” R. Ouellette
Auguste “Gus” R. Ouellette, 86, of Hudson died Friday, January 27 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of failing health.

Mr. Ouellette was born in Dracut, Massachusetts, on September 29, 1919, a son of the late Dominique and Laura (Gaudette) Ouellette. He was the husband of Pauline (Laquerre) Ouellette of Hudson.

Mr. Ouellette was raised in Dracut and Lowell, Massachusetts, graduating from Dracut High School in 1939. He married Pauline Laquerre on September 29, 1947, and moved to Hudson at that time. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps 345th Bombardment Group in the Pacific during World War II. In recent years, he enjoyed many reunions with his fellow corpsmen, including a visit to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D. C. Mr. Ouellette was a member of the VFW Post #5791. He was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital helping with their bingo.

He was a life-long Scout and former scoutmaster and was the first scoutmaster for Troop 252 of Hudson. He was a Little League coach, a member of the Dracut High Reunion Committee, and a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen. He served on the Catholic Committee on Scouting as well as the District Committee. He also served on the Hudson 300th Anniversary Committee. Mr. Ouellette received the Boy Scout District Award of Merit, the St. George Award, The Silver Beaver Award, and the Scouter’s Key. Mr. Ouellette was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, serving as a eucharistic minister, lector, and usher, and was past president of the Men’s Club.

He was predeceased by four brothers: Peter Fred, George, and Raymond, and four sisters: Yvonne Peters, Anita Kerrallah, Claire Lemieux and Louise Wye.

Besides his wife of 66 years, Mr. Ouellette is survived by two sons, Ronald Ouellette of Boston, Massachusetts, and Paul Ouellette of Hudson; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Brad Trafton of Gonic, New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Avery Ouellette, Sarita Trafton, Scot Trafton, Jennifer Lowke and her husband Bryan, Cynthia Tognarina and her husband Jason, and Melissa Ouellette; two great grandchildren, Garon Lowke and Charlie Tognarina; one sister, Annette Ouellette of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Zelphia Ouellette of Milford and Jeannette Ouellette of Illinois, ; and a brother-in-law Roger Laquerre and his wife Rachel of Florida. He was Uncle Gus to several nieces and nephews, and scoutmaster to many boys in Hudson including faithful scout Duane Morin.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated February 1 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. Burial took place in the New Hampshire State Veterans cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 252, c/o Father John Horan, 27 Library Street, Hudson, NH 03051 or a charity of one’s choice. Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, Nashua, was in charge of arrangements.
