Ellen (Beeley) Dolan
Ellen (Beeley) Dolan, 87, of Salem, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at Academy Manor Nursing in Andover, Massachusetts. She was a Salem resident for 50 years.

Mrs. Dolan was born and raised in Methuen, Massachusetts. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, reading and baking. She loved playing with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William Dolan.

She is survived by daughters Paula and husband Hervey Roy of Methuen, and Geraldine and husband Harry Slater of Rocky Point, North Carolina; sons William and wife Marcia Dolan of Londonderry, and Michael Dolan of Kittery Point, Maine; brothers Frederick Beeley of Methuen, and Richard Beeley of Methuen; a sister-in-law, Frances Beeley of Salem; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held November 7 at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Dolan’s memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10305.

Doris C. Dymek
Doris C. (Pizzarello) Dymek, 61, of Londonderry, formerly of Salem and Mount Vernon, New York, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry.

She was born in Mount Vernon, where she grew up and attended schools. She was a resident of Londonderry for the past two years, formerly of Salem.

Doris was a dog groomer. She enjoyed reading, music and was an avid animal lover. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Dymek of Londonderry; a son, Michael Dymek of Danville, two brothers, Robert Pizzarello of New Milford, Connecticut, and Richard Pizzarello of Yonkers, New York; two nieces and one nephew, Lea and Lauren Pizzarello and Patrick Baginski.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on November 12 at St. Joseph Church in Salem. Burial followed in Pine Grove cemetery in Salem. The Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem handled arrangements.

Josephine Franco
Josephine Franco, 62, of Hudson, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

She was born March 19, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Joseph and Isabella (Mitarotondo) Abbondanza.

She was the wife of Leonard Franco of Hudson with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.

Josephine and her husband resided in Hudson for over 40 years. She enjoyed crafting and gardening.

Besides her loving husband survivors include one son, David Franco of Hudson, and a sister, Annette Pedone of Jersey City.

Visiting hours were held on October 20 at the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson. All other services were held at the Riotto Funeral Home in New Jersey. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Hampshire Chapter, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Bedford, NH 03110.

Frank J. G. Garcia
Frank J. G. Garcia, 73, of Hudson, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Lowell, Massachusetts.

He was born June 4, 1934, in Lowell, son of the late Francis, Sr., and Jeanette (Patanaude) Garcia.

He was the husband of Janet (Duffy) Garcia of Hudson with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Frank was a Navy veteran. He previously was employed as an assistant deputy at the Concord Reformatory.

Besides his loving wife, Janet, he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law; Frank Garcia, Jr., of Haverhill, Massachusetts; Daniel Garcia and Steven and Ellen Garcia all of Hudson; four brothers, Richard Garcia, Robert Garcia, John Garcia and Donald Garcia; one sister, JoAnn Bell; and six grandchildren, Kerry Reed, Derek Lawlor, Tabitha Torre, Scott Garcia, Bradley Garcia and Amy Garcia; and two great-grandchildren, Serrina Lawlor and Jayden Torre.

A funeral Mass was held on November 27 in St. Kathryn Church in Hudson. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Hudson. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Cassandra R. Goocher
The many friends of Robert Goocher and Kristen Tennis of Pelham will be saddened to learn of their daughter, Cassandra R. Goocher, age 6 weeks old, who died Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.

She was born in Boston on September 10, 2007.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Amber Tennis and Shannon Goocher; her maternal grandparents, Gary and Diane (Mateoska) Tennis of Pelham; her paternal grandfather, Robert Goocher, Sr., of Marlboro, Massachusetts; her maternal great-grandparents, Glen and Eileen Tennis of Hudson; and her maternal great-grandmother, Marion Mateoska of Nashua; maternal great grandparents, Ralph and Ginny Garmon of Florida; and two uncles, Jason and Shawn Tennis, both of Pelham.

She was also the granddaughter of the late Linda (Rodgers) Goocher.

A Funeral Service was held at the Pelham Funeral Home in Pelham. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Madeline (Decocq) Hawkins
Madeline (Decocq) Hawkins, 90, of Salem, died Friday, November 2, 2007, at the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem.

She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where she grew up and attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School. She was a resident of Salem for the past 51 years, formerly of Methuen, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Hawkins owned and operated Hawkins Farm in Salem from 1956 until 1990.

She had previously worked as an office payroll clerk for the Wood Mills in Lawrence.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Hawkins and she was also predeceased by a daughter Linda Woodbury.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Elva Hawkins of Chester; a daughter, June Hawkins of Groveland, Massachusetts; a son-in-law, G. Talbot Woodbury of Salem; a brother, John Decocq of Lawrence; three granddaughters, Shellane Rogers, Jennifer Hawkins, and Jean Kilham; and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held at the Douglas and John Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, November 8. Internment took place in Pine Grove cemetery in Sale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hanna Tenney Methodist Church, 290 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.

Viola Haynes
Viola Haynes, 93, of Salem, died Friday, November 23, 2007, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts.

She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and moved to Salem in 1923, where she grew up and attended schools, and has been a resident ever since. She was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Lillian (Smallwood) Haynes.

Viola worked as a bookkeeper for Dalrymple Gas Company in Salem. She also worked at Peever’s Drug Store. Viola was a member of the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church in Salem, where she was very active and was the churches oldest living member. Viola devoted her life to taking care of her loved ones, including her mother, father, and brother. She loved to bake and will always be remembered for her peanut butter fudge and molasses cookies.

She was predeceased by her brother George B. Haynes.

She is survived by her sister Hildred Wells of Salem and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Grave side committal will be held Saturday, December 1, at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove cemetery in Salem. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, 8 Pleasant Street in Salem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church or to Salemhaven Nursing Home, 23 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079.

The Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of the arrangements.

Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Lampert
Jacqueline “Jackie” Lampert, 66, of Salem, died Saturday, November 24, 2007, after a battle with breast cancer.

Born February 4, 1941, she was one of six children of the late Gene and Gladys (Farrell) Derouin of Lynn, Massachusetts. She had lived with her family in Salem since 1977. Lampert was a graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she earned her master’s degree in education. Before her retirement, she taught at Derry Village School, in Derry for 24 years. After retirement, she remained active in the Derry school system as a volunteer. In 1994, she was honored by the Derry Education Association as Teacher of the Year, and in 2006 received the Friend of Education Volunteer Award.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She had a passion for the arts, theater, traveling and science. Lampert loved spending time at the ocean and entertaining friends and family at her lake house cottage.

Lampert is survived by her husband of 46 years, William G. Lampert; son William C. Lampert and his wife Toni of Derry; her daughter Cheryl Lampert and life partner Mary Ellen Ormond of Chester; and son Jeffrey Lampert of Salem. She also is survived by her brothers Leonard Derouin and his wife Shirley of Lynn, Massachusetts, and Michael Derouin and his wife Diane of Peabody, Massachusetts; her grandchildren Shannon, Courtney, Robert, Riley, Taryn, Sean and Crystal; several nieces and nephews, and the students whose lives she enriched.

The funeral was held on November 28 at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem; cremation followed. Memorial donations may be made to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation: www.walk.avonfoundation.org.

Lionel J. ‘Bucko’ Lanouette, Sr.
Lionel J. “Bucko” Lanouette, Sr., 75, of Salem, entered into eternal peace and rest on Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester surrounded by his family.

He was born in Methuen, Massachusetts, where he grew up and attended school. He was a resident of Salem for the past five years, formerly of Raymond.

Bucko was a retired custodian for the Methuen School System. He also had worked for Freeman Fuel in Methuen. He attended Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, was a member of the Knights of Columbus #6850, Raymond-Epping Council. He loved bowling and was active with the Salem and Raymond Senior Citizens Center.

Bucko was also a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Lafontaine) Lanouette of Salem; two sons, Lionel J., Jr., and Paul F. Lanouette, Sr., both of Raymond, four daughters, Rosanne Brown, Carolyn Lanouette, and Jean Hazelton all of Salem, and Rita Souza of Hudson; four sisters, Helen and her husband Francis Prescott of Florida, Rose and her husband Joseph Drelick of Methuen, and Rita Gagnon and Florence Berry both of Methuen; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem. Burial will follow in Pine Grove cemetery in Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Boys and Girls Club, 3 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079. The Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street in Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Rita (Plourde) Law
Rita (Plourde) Law, 82, of Hudson, died Monday, November 19, 2007, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

She was born September 7, 1925, in Manchester, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Louise (Therrian) Plourde.

She was the wife of the late Robert Law who died in February of 2002. She enjoyed gardening, solving jigsaw puzzles and reading.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Law of Farmington, and James and Tammy Law of Litchfield. Two daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnne and Gary Bedell of Sanford, Maine, and Janet and Ricky Mitchell of Hudson; seven grandchildren, Scott Law of Nashua, Jeff Law of Dunbarton, Kim Messina of Dexter, Maine, Jenny Jenkins of Sanford, Nicole Ostrander of Nashua, Sarah Provencher of Mashpee, Massachusetts, and Alan Law of Londonderry; 12 great-grandchildren, Victoria Law of Nashua, Lillian Law and Andrew Law, both of Londonderry, Christina Messina and Branden Messina both of Dexter, Evelyn Provencher and Theresa Provencher, both of Mashpee, Kira Law of Dunbarton, Madison Ostrander of Nashua, and Sophia Jenkins and Hannah Jenkins both of Sanford; and a sister, Edith Luiz of Manchester.

A graveside service was held on November 28 in St. Patrick cemetery, Hudson. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.
