Joseph George LeBlanc
Joseph George LeBlanc, 84, of Salem, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, in his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Vivian M. (Muise) LeBlanc, and the son of the late Alphe and Christine (Poirier) LeBlanc. Born and raised in Saugus, Massachusetts, he lived in Lynn, Massachusetts, for 35 years before moving to New Hampshire in 1984. A graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1942, he was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. LeBlanc worked as carpenter in Lynn for many years until his retirement in 1984. He was known as “The Original Mr. Fix It” in Lynn. Joseph was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70. He enjoyed woodworking and loved to sing in various choirs. He was a communicant of St. Matthew Church in Windham.

He is survived by his son Robert LeBlanc and his wife Linda of Groveland, Massachusetts; three daughters, Christine Addario and her husband Anthony of Saugus, Theresa LeBlanc of Derry, and Barbara Johnson and her husband Scott of Salem. He also leaves his 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alphe Leblanc of Florida and Arthur LeBlanc of Lynn; two sisters, Anita Madigan and Jeanette L’Eitalien of Peabody, Massachusetts, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David LeBlanc and the brother of the late Marie LeBlanc and Alice Kershaw.

His funeral service was held on October 22 in St. Mary’s Church in Lynn followed by burial in St. Mary’s cemetery, Lynn. Donations may be made to St. Basils Salvatorian Center, 30 East Street, Methuen, MA 01844. The Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home in Lynn was in charge of arrangements.

Harvey W. Loring II
Harvey W. Loring II, 59, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, died Monday, November 19, 2007, at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Massachusetts.

He was born in Lawrence, grew up, and was educated in Salem. He was a resident of Lawrence for the past 20 years, formerly of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Mr. Loring was a delivery driver for Tripoli’s Bakery in Lawrence. He enjoyed baseball and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Loring of Lawrence, Timothy Loring of Salem, Harvey III and his wife Denise Loring of Oak Hill, New York, and Andrew Loring of Greenville, New York; his mother, Leona (Snell) Loring of Lawrence; and seven grandchildren, Brendon, Alannah, Austin, Evan, Kaylan, James, and Cassie.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 23, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street in Salem. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.

Richard Manning
Richard E. Manning, 84, of Hudson, and formerly of Windham, and Zephyrhills, Florida, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

He loved his wife, family, Vermont, and golf. At age 16 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) where he acquired his life long love for the State of Vermont.

While in the Corps he helped clear the forests for what became Gifford Woods State Park in Killington, Vermont, and Calvin Coolidge State Park in Plymouth, Vermont. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. After the war he was a Bos’n mate for Sun Oil Company and Esso Corp and then worked for 16 years in the Esso Refinery. He retired after 29 years at Cabot Corporation in Billerica, Massachusetts.

Mr. Manning is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Florence (FitzGerald) Manning, and his ten children; Judy Mullins and her husband Gerald of Hudson, Frederick Manning and his wife Joan of West Hartford, Connecticut, Margaret Salvas and her husband David of Amherst, Dorothy Manning of St. Augustine, Florida, Mary Ritter and her husband Gary of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Michael Manning of San Diego, California, Myra Hogan and her husband Sean of Plaistow, Stephen Manning and his wife Laura of Cambridge, New York, Katie McGurn and her husband Scott of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Ellen Luithle and her husband Mark of Baskingridge, New Jersey; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrea, Chloe, Nora, Meghan, Patrick, Stephen, Ryan, Sean, Katie, Aaron, Joseph, Aidan, and Jordan; as well as six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Manning of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on November 13 in Blessed John XXIII Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson with a burial in the New Hampshire State Veteran cemetery in Boscawen. The family requested donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Menard
Beverley (Peters) Menard, 53, of Hudson, died Thursday November 8, 2007, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 30, 1954, daughter of Stanley and Betty (Ralston) Peters of Cincinnati and was the wife of James L. Menard of Hudson.

In 1994 Beverley was diagnosed with brain cancer and was given just a short time to live, but was able to live for 13 years despite the odds.

Besides her loving husband and parents, Beverley is survived by two daughters, Tara Menard and Amber Menard, both of Hudson; one brother, David Peters of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was held on November 15 in Blessed John XXIII Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. Burial was at Holy Cross cemetery in Hudson. The family requests that donations be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond J. Moore, Sr.
Raymond J. Moore, Sr., 79, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.

Mr. Moore was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1928, son of the late Raymond Seth and Josephine C. (Duffy) Moore. He had been a resident of Litchfield for over 40 years.

He was the husband of Beverly J. (Rourke) Moore whom he married on February 17, 1952.

Mr. Moore served in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years. His career spanned over the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He was discharged as Chief Petty Officer. Following retirement from the Coast Guard, he worked for New Hampshire Insurance, Peerless Insurance, and Hanover Insurance as a Casualty Engineer and Investigator.

He served as chaplain for the Hudson Post #48, American Legion and served on the Hudson Post #48, American Legion Firing Squad. For the last 30 years he marched in every Memorial Day Parade in Nashua and Hudson. Mr. Moore was a member Hudson Post #5791, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a life member of the Nashua Lodge #720, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks (BPOE). Mr. Moore also was a member of the Berring Sea Patrol and an active volunteer of Mooremart.org sending boxes to service members. He was avid gardener and reader who enjoyed history. Mr. Moore also enjoyed hunting.

Mr. Moore was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson and attended First Baptist Church of Hudson with his wife Beverly.

He graduated from East Boston High School and attended New Hampshire College.

In addition to his wife Beverly of 55 years, survivors include three sons, Raymond J. Moore, Jr., and his wife Marylou of West Topsham, Vermont, the Honorable Paul S. Moore and his wife Maureen of Bedford, and Sergeant First Class Brian D. Moore, serving in the United States Army in Iraq and his wife Raquel; a daughter, Carole Moore and her husband Terry of Nashua; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Ann Byers and her husband Robert of Brentwood, California; many nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman and Linda Rourke of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, David Rourke of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Nancy Rourke of Washington State.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Blessed John XXIII Parish in St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson on Monday, October 22. Interment prayers and burial were held privately in New Hampshire State Veterans cemetery, Boscawen. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to charity of one’s choice or the Renovation Project at First Baptist Church of Hudson, 236 Central Street, Hudson, NH 03051. The Davis Funeral Home in Nashua was in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne R. (DeLome) Murray
Jeanne R. (DeLome) Murray, 87, of Salem, died Monday, November 26, 2007, at Hanover Hill Health Care in Manchester.

Jeanne was born and educated in Fall River, Massachusetts, and had lived in Salem for 49 years. She retired from the Woodbury School in Salem in 1985 where she worked as a Guidance Secretary for many years. Jeanne previously worked for the Sweepstakes Commission and sold the first Sweepstakes ticket in the State of New Hampshire. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem.

Jeanne was very active in Democratic politics. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was an avid Red Sox fan. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Richard E. Murray, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Goterch.

She is survived by a son, Michael Murray and his wife Sheila of Salem; daughters, J. Lynne Goterch and her husband John of Derry, Jackie Oros and her husband Kenneth of Salem, Joan Murray of Rahway, New Jersey, and Ann Schaub and her husband Roland of Switzerland; a sister, Claire Stevenson of Fall River; grandchildren, Michael Murray, Jr., Kathleen Meeker, Erin Seaman, James and Stephen Goterch, Daniel and Geoffrey Oros, Benjamin and John-Michael Schaub.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110. The Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Ricardo Rodriguez
Mr. Ricardo Rodriguez of Pelham passed away on October 26, 2007, after a brief illness. He was born in Cuba on July 10, 1939. He was the son of the late Ricardo Rodriguez and Maria Rodriguez Del Campo.

Mr. Rodriguez came to the United States in 1958 to attend Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, where he majored in engineering. He was unable to return to Cuba due to the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

After college he settled in Watertown, Massachusetts, and was employed by Burroughs Corporation and later for Wang Labs. He moved to Pelham, in the early 1980s.

"Rick" as he liked to be called, enjoyed the countryside of New Hampshire, and especially loved his neighborhood. He was a friend to all, and was known to wave at everyone that passed by his home. His hobbies included biking, reading, photography, taking walks, and especially watching the Red Sox.

He leaves behind his aunt, Elvira Guerra, of Florida, and his uncle, Felipe Rodriguez of California, also many cousins and many friends, especially Bill and Dottie Horgan, Sally and Bill Casto, and Rosanne and Jim Toscano.

Services were held privately.

Dorothy Mae Rooney
Dorothy Mae Rooney, 84, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 19, 2007, at her home in Reisterstown, Maryland.

Born July 4, 1923, in Medford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Francis Harold Wolfe and Mary Jane Slaney Wolfe of Salem. She was the devoted and beloved wife for 56 years of James Albert Rooney.

With her sense of adventure and duty, Mrs. Rooney served honorably with the United State Coast Guard during World War II. She was an avid reader of mystery books and loved animals. She was also a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Glyndon, Maryland.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, James Francis Rooney and his wife Julie of Portola Valley, California, Madeleine Rooney and her friend Anita Holloway of Chicago, Illinois, and Thomas Rooney of Westminster, Maryland. She is the cherished grandmother of James William, Zachary, Marcus, and Abigail Rooney; sister-in-law Gertrude Wolfe of Salem; and is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was predeceased by her three siblings, Madeline Moberg, and Francis and Harold Wolfe.

She was dearly loved, will be greatly missed, and her memory will be always treasured.

At her request, she was cremated in Maryland. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, November 17 from 9 - 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street in Salem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Reisterstown Library, BCPL, 21 Cockeys Mill Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.

Robert Saitow
Robert Saitow of Pelham, beloved husband of Kathleen, and father of Robert J. Saitow and Beth Gilbert, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007, following a tragic car accident.

Robert will be fondly remembered as a wonderfully warm and caring man who loved his family and friends passionately. He believed life was an adventure and this spirit took him around the world on excursions that included scuba diving, sea kayaking, skydiving, and a few loops around the track in a NASCAR race car. He was always quick with a hug and never turned anyone down that asked for his help.

Following 20 years as an IT Manager at Sun Microsystems, Robert started Top Choice Travel which he operated part time while working as a call center manager at Heritage Plumbing Heating and Cooling.

Robert is also survived by his 99 year old grandmother, Mary Liner of Topsfield, Massachusetts; his mother, Shelby Liner of Danvers, Massachusetts; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Clyde Janvrin of Rye; his cousin Charlotte Bloom of North Andover, Massachusetts; his uncle Barry Liner and friend Marsha Rust of North Palm Beach, Florida; and in-laws Connie and Warren Carlson of Seabrook; Cindy and Steve Littlefield of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; Thomas and Monica Bond of Nashua; Sandra Bond of Derry; Diane Jalbert of Hudson; nieces Ashley, Keri, Kasey, Kally, Isabella, Alexandra, Madison; nephews Jason, Adam and TJ; cousins Eric, Jillian, Amy and Matt ;and by his loving, loyal beagle, Dynamite. Robert was predeceased by his grandfather, John Liner. He also leaves behind many, many friends and co-workers that will miss him terribly.

Robert touched our lives in ways he could have never imagined and he will be missed deeply.

Funeral Services were held on November 20 at the Dracut Funeral Home in Dracut, Massachusetts. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Hampshire Food Bank, 62 West Brook Street, Manchester, NH 03101, telephone 669-9725, or www.nhfoodbank.org.

Edward Seubert
Edward Seubert, 88, of Salem, died peacefully Wednesday evening, November 21, 2007, after a short illness. His wife of 64 years, Hazel, was at his side.

He was born on February 24, 1919, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, son of Edward and Madelyn Seubert. After serving in the Navy aboard the USS Augusta during World War II, Seubert returned to Lawrence where he continued his work as a textile designer at the Wood Worsted Mill and graduated from Lowell Technological Institute. He later worked for IBM and Bell Labs (later known as Raytheon) installing computerized accounting systems, computer programming and as a computer-aided draftsman.

In 1950 he moved to Salem, and later joined the police department as a part-time officer where he served for 25 years. Seubert was a member of VFW Post 8546 and the Military Order of the Cooties, and the Police Relief Association in Salem.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Gayle Gulaya, and her husband Subhash of North Stonington, Connecticut; son David of Salem; and daughter Lyn Mercer of Salem. He also leaves three grandsons, Erik Tine and his wife Andrea, Adam Mercer of Salem, and Rajan Gulaya of Winter Park, Florida. He also leaves twin great-granddaughters Liana and Alexia Tine.

A funeral was held November 24 at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem with cremation following. Donations may be made to Salem NH Police Benevolent Association, Inc. 9 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Salem New Hampshire 03079.
