Robert Oliver Law
Robert Oliver Law, 79, of Blackstone Street, Hudson, died early Monday, February 9, 2004 at his home, surrounded by his loving family members. Born on October 24, 1924 in Manchester, New Hampshire, he was the son of late Robert E. and Blanche (Roy) Law. He attended Saint Joseph School for Boys and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and later received his MBA from New Hampshire College, where he was the oldest in the class, being 67 years old.

He was the husband of Rita (Plourde) Law of Hudson, to whom he has been married for 56 years. Law was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Law is predeceased by three sisters. Mr. Law previously worked at AVCO and HADCO and was a member of the United States Engineers Association. He loved going on bike rides, photography, gazing at the stars through his telescope, fishing, playing chess, and was very fond of mathematics.

Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons and one daughter in law, John M. Law of Farmington New Hampshire, James J. and Tammy Law of Litchfield; two daughters and two sons-in-laws, Joanne and Gary Bedell of Sanford Maine, Janet and Ricky Mitchell of Hudson New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Scott Law of Nashua, Jeff Law of Dunbarton New Hampshire, Kim Messina of Dexter Maine, Jenny Brudzisz of Sanford Maine, Nicole Mitchell of Hudson, Sarah Provencher of Mashpee Massachusetts, and Alan Law of Litchfield; five great grandchildren Kaila Montbleau, Victoria Law, both of Nashua, Lillian Law of Litchfield, Christina Messina, Brandon Messina both of Dexter Maine.

The Dumont Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.

Jeannette Mattson
Jeannette Mattson, 85, formerly of 55 Barretts Hill Road, Hudson, died Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson.

She was born in Penns Grove New Jersey, June 22, 1918 and was the widow of Robert Mattson.

Survivors include: a son Kenneth Mattson of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Roberta DiGirolamo of Hudson and Virginia Suders of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.

John F. McNeil
John F. McNeil, 66 of Greeley Street Hudson, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua.

He was born September 18, 1937 in Somerville, Massachusetts, son of the late John W. and Aldana (Kelley) McNeil.

Mr. McNeil was the husband of Lorna (O’Quinn) McNeil of Hudson. A daughter, Denise Currier in 1996, predeceased him.

Mr. McNeil worked as a Store Manager at Stop & Shop for forty years. Mr. McNeil was also an Air Force veteran.

He was an avid lottery player whose greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife survivors include: Two sons and one daughter-in-law, John A. McNeil of Hudson and Scott and Victoria McNeil of Hudson; one daughter, Cheryl McNeil of Hudson; four grandchildren, Jessie Currier and Nicole Currier, both of Lancaster, New Hampshire; Patrick McNeil and Liam McNeil both of Hudson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins,

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in John's loving memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605, Attn: Donor Development Department. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth (Greeley) Michaels
Mary Elizabeth (Greeley) Michaels, 30, of Fir Lane, Hudson died Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Michaels was born January 19, 1974 in Nashua, daughter of John and Betsy (Hoke) Greeley of Norwich, New York.

She was the wife of Marc Michaels of Hudson.

Mrs. Michaels was previously employed by Heat Inc. of Hudson as an Administrative Supervisor for four years.

She shared many happy times with her “Prince” Marc and loved her little Yorkie, Molly.

Mrs. Michaels was like a special aunt to her young cousins and shared in a very close relationship with her grandparents, whom she loved spending time with.

She enjoyed fine dining, shopping, and took great pride in decorating her new house.

She always knew what she wanted in life and wasn’t afraid to go for it.

Besides her husband and parents, survivors include: one brother, Tracy Greeley of Greenwich, Connecticut; one brother-in-law, Peter Michaels, and his wife Ann Marie, of Somersworth, New Hampshire; one sister-in-law, Catherine Kovalik, and her husband Thomas, of Lebanon, Maine; one father-in-law and one mother-in-law, Richard and Dorothea (Brunette) Michaels of Somersworth, New Hampshire; maternal grandparents, Leo and Elizabeth Hoke of Nashua; paternal grandparents, John and Marion Greeley Senior of Norwich, New York; four Aunts and five uncles, Patti Hoke of Nashua; Heidi (Hoke) Saulding, and her husband Andrew, of Hudson; Linda (Greeley) Natoli, and her husband Rich, of Norwich, New York; Peter Greeley of Unadilla, New York; Philip Greeley of Norwich, New York; Timothy Greeley, and his wife Patty, of Lockport, New York; seven cousins, Nathan and Zachary Spaulding of Hudson; Nicholas and Vincent Natoli, Christopher Greeley, all of Norwich, New York; Cameron and Michael Greeley of Lockport, New York.

Those wishing to make donations in Mary’s loving memory may do so to the Nashua Humane Society, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.

Robert H. Milligan
Representative Robert H. Milligan, 76 of 42 Patten Road. Merrimack died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.

He was born in Augusta, Maine on August 31, 1927, a son of the late Walter and Evangeline (Fisher) Milligan.

Before retirement, he was employed as an air traffic controller for the FAA Center Boston in Nashua for 37 Years.

He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean conflict, and was a member of both the American Legion Post 98 and V.F.W. Post 8641 both in Merrimack.

Mr. Milligan was a six term New Hampshire State Legislator, and currently was the Majority Caucus Whip. He was voted the New Hampshire State Legislator in 2002 and held memberships in many state and local commissions and committees. He was chairman of the Hillsborough County Legislative delegation. Locally, he was a member of the Merrimack Village District Board of Commissioners, and their Wellhead Committee. Mr. Milligan was a member of the Town of Merrimack Budget Committee, Wassermann Park Master Planning Committee, and the Parks and Recreation Commission. He was a charter member of the Merrimack Youth Association and served for many years as a coach, umpire, and referee. Mr. Milligan was founder and charter member of the Merrimack High School football Quarterback Club.

Mr. Milligan was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a past chairman of the church council.

He was a member of the B.P.O.E Elks Lodge #720 in Nashua, and also was a member of the New England Harness Horse Association and the Maine Harness Horseman's Association.

Mr. Milligan is predeceased by a wife, Lena (Guilli) Milligan, a son Timothy Milligan, a brother Walter Milligan and a sister Frances Ellis.

Members of his family include: his wife, Barbara E. (Weed) Milligan of Merrimack; two sons, Michael Milligan of Merrimack and Kevin Milligan of Nashua; five grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, and Katelyn Milligan, and Gretchen and Derrich Hafemann; a brother, Richard Milligan of Monmouth Maine; two sisters, Marie Spear of Randolph, Maine and Madeline Tatlock, of Gardiner, Maine.

Speaker of the House Gene G. Chandler offered the following statement on the death of Representative Robert Milligan. “I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of State Representative Robert Milligan. He was always a hardworking and well-respected member of the House and an enthusiastic voice for his constituents. Bob always had a story to share and I enjoyed our discussions about his involvement in the harness racing industry. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

Roland Conrad Naro
Roland Conrad Naro 81, of Blackstone Street, Hudson died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at his residence.

Mr. Naro was born February 25, 1923 in Nashua, son of the late Henry Senior and Angeline (Gendron) Naro.

He was the widow of Shirley (Nolette) Naro.

Mr. Naro was a World War II Army Veteran who received his basic training in Texas. He traveled with the military to Ireland, Scotland, England, Belgium and Germany. He also took part in the Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Normandy, and the Battle at the Rhine River.

Mr. Naro formerly worked at J.F. McElwain until it closed. He then worked for Nashua Corp. for 30 years until his retirement in April of 1985.

He also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox on T.V.

Mr. Naro was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Naro, Maurice Naro, and Albert Naro, and one sister, Albina D’Amour.

Survivors include: Two sons, Dana Snell and Ja Snell, both of Hudson; two daughters and one son-in-law, Denise Fisk of Gilford, New Hampshire; Georgia and Ian Palmer of Hudson; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert Naro of Nashua; Henry Jr., and Nancy Naro of Hudson; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Anita and Bill Glenn of Florida; Jeannette and Ron Flanders of California; one sister-in-law, Martha Naro of Hudson; six grandchildren, Nicholas Palmer of Hudson; Sunshine Fisk; Christopher Fisk; Jacob Snell; and Jessee Snell all of New Hampshire; and Melanie Snell of Dracut, Massachusetts. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 9. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Matilda “Mollie” (Stawasz) O’Neill
Mrs. Matilda "Mollie" Sophia O'Neill, 86, of 15 Chase Street, Hudson, died Monday May 24, 2004 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Born on March 30, 1918 in Nashua, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Pytko) Stawasz. She was educated in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School. She was a resident of Hudson for most of her life.

She worked at Sprague Electric in Nashua before she married her husband, Francis. After marriage she raised her family and looked after the household affairs.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She quilted with the members of the ladies guild. Mrs. O'Neill was an avid reader.

Her husband Francis “Tip” Clarke O’Neill who died May 12, 1985, her three brothers and her three sisters predeceased her.

Surviving family members include: her son, Francis Patrick O'Neill and his wife Maria of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Susan Rasmussen and her husband Eric of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; 1 grandson, Francis Daniel O'Neill of Baltimore, Maryland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cheryl A. Sargent
Cheryl A. Sargent, 57 of Sheraton Drive, Hudson, died Tuesday January 6, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua.

Born November l, 1946 in Lynn, MA she was the wife of William Sargent of Hudson and daughter of the late Walter G. and Gladys (Floyd) Beede.

Mrs. Sargent worked for over 10 years as a Purchasing Agent at Digital in Merrimack and Nashua and also had worked at Oxford Health Plans in Nashua.

She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter as well as enjoying dancing and music.

Besides her husband, survivors include: 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Kristi and Jeffrey Riendeau of Hudson, and Karen Sargent, also of Hudson, also 2 brothers, Walter Beede, of Pittsfield, New Hampshire and Bruce Beede, of Warner, New Hampshire, also 1 granddaughter, Sara M. Riendeau, of Hudson and 1 Godson, Andrew Harthan, of Peabody, MA, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Sargent's memory, to American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., Hudson, NH 03051 is in charge of arrangements.

Mary B. Sawicki
Mary B. Sawicki, 84 of Clark Street, Hudson, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, from injuries sustained in a fire.

Born December 23, 1919 in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Nellie (Pycka) Grohowski. She was the widow of the late William Sawicki who died May 27, 2003.

At one time she worked for Sanders Associates.

Survivors include one brother, John Grohosky of Nashua.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson. Visiting hours were Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Sawicki’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Hampshire Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 427B, Concord, New Hampshire 03301. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus cemetery, Nashua, at a later date.
