Kathleen C. Eglit
MADISON - Kathleen C. Eglit, 91, of Madison, died April 19, 2000 at the Fryeburg Health Care Center in Fryeburg, Maine after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of George and Mary (Cosgrove) Fitzgerald, she grew up in Long Island, N.Y. and moved to Madison in 1972.
She graduated from Hunter College in New York City and worked for Binney and Smith in New York as a chemist in the early 1930s. She had been an elementary school teacher in New York City and at St. Joseph's School in Medford, N.J.
Mrs. Eglit was a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America.
The family includes: A son, John Eglit, of Madison; two daughters, Kathleen Wayman of Blue Point, N.Y. and Mary Garrity of Conway; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Fitzgerald of Staten Island, N.Y. and Ruth Ryan of Red Bank, N.J. and several nieces and nephews. Two children predeceased her, Billy Eglit in 1979 and Ruth Herring in 1991.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Mountains Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

F. Stetson Archibald
CONCORD - F. Stetson Archibald, 90, of Concord, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at the NH Odd Fellows Home in Concord.
He was born in Bartlett, the son of Elmer L. and Lucy (Bradshaw) Archibald. He was raised in Conway and was a 1928 graduate of Kennett High School.
He was a call fireman for the Conway Fire Department for 15 years and served as chief of police in Conway, Lisbon and Lancaster and as a special police officer in Groveton.
Mr. Archibald was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Swift River Lodge No. 84 Order of Odd Fellows in Conway and of Pliny Rebekah Lodge No. 92 in Jefferson. He was also a member of the Laconia Encampment No. 9 in Concord,, Canton Franklin No. 15 in Tilton. He was grand master of the Grand Lodge of I.O.O.F. of New Hampshire in 1949-50. He was also a member of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the I.O.O.F., where he was a past grand representative. He spent 10 years as secretary of the Grand Scribes Association and was a past president. He spent 18 years as grand secretary of the Grand Lodge of New Hampshire and was awarded the title of grand secretary emeritus. He was awarded the meritorious service jewel by the Grand Lodge of New Hampshire. He was past president of the Past Grand Masters Past Grand Chaplains Association. He was also past president of the Past Grand Officers Association. He was a former director and incorporator of the New Hampshire Odd Fellows Home. He was a member of the Grand Encampment and the Department Council of New Hampshire. He was a member and secretary of the Mount Washington Masonic Lodge No. 26 in North Conway; the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Boscawen; and the Order of Amaranth in Nashua. He was a member of Signet Chapter No. 26 Order of Eastern Star in North Conway and Epiphany Chapter No. 50 Order of Eastern Star in Concord.
He is survived by a brother, Forest Archibald, of Largo, Fla.; a sister, Abbie McFarland, of Munroe, Conn.; one granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey (Rohman) Archibald, who died in 1981.
Calling hours were yesterday at Bennett Funeral Home in Concord. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on North Main Street today at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, where there will be a committal and a Masonic service.
Memorial donations may be made to the NH Odd Fellows Home, 200 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.

Paul O. Gregoire
CONWAY - Paul O. Gregoire, 49, of Conway, died April 17, 2000 at his home following a period of failing health. Born in Exeter, the son of Saunear and Mary (Villeanre) Gregoire, he lived in Derry for most of his life before moving to Conway in 1986.
Mr. Gregoire was a self-employed woodworker and he did small engine repair.
The family includes: his wife, Mary I. Gregoire of Conway; two sons, Paul O. Gregoire and William L. Gregoire, both of Derry; a daughter, Melissa L. Gregoire of Manchester; two sisters, Doris Begin of Canaan and Patricia Hutchins on Manchester and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Private burial will be later at the convenience of the family.

Frank E. Shaw
FRYEBURG, Maine - A graveside service for Frank E. Shaw, who died on March 9, 2000, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fryeburg, Maine. Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home of Fryeburg, Maine.

Mildred E. Cole
BROWNFIELD, Maine - A graveside service for Mildred E. Cole, who died Feb. 7, 2000, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Burnt Meadowbrook Cemetery. Arrangements are by Neal and York Funeral Home, Kezar Falls.

Janet Potter Eaton
CONWAY - Janet Potter Eaton, infant daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Eaton of Mill St. died Monday at the Memorial Hospital.
The family also includes one sister, Victoria Eaton, a brother, Tyler Eaton, both of Center Conway, maternal grandfather Hill Hammond of Center Conway, paternal grandparents, Albert and Carla Eaton of Fryeburg.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Center Conway Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Palmer officiating.
Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home of Fryeburg, Maine.

Sadie B. Foster
CONWAY - Sadie B. Foster, 95, of Conway, died April 12, 2000, at The Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a brief illness.
Born in Madison, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Allard) Tasker, she was a lifelong resident of the Conway area.
She graduated from Conway High School in 1920 and attended a two-year business college in Portland, Maine.
Mrs. Foster was a bookkeeper for the town of Conway for 19 years.
She had been a volunteer for the Conway Chamber of Commerce in Conway and a volunteer for the Gibson Center for Senior Services.
She was a member of the Conway United Methodist Church.
The family includes a daughter, Ellen M. Jalicki of Conway; four grandchildren, Stephen L. Foster of Portland, Maine, Dorothy Webber of Milford, Cynthia M. King and Michael E. Jalicki, both of Conway; 10 great grandchildren and a grand nephew, Clifford Jackson Jr. of Conway.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Conway Village Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.

June Taylor Fauntleroy
LOVELL - June Taylor Fauntleroy, 77, of Lovell, Maine, died April 6, 2000, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born June 17, 1922, to Frank L. and Claire (Davis) Taylor in St. Paul, Minn. She spent her early years in Seattle, Wash. She and her husband, Philip Williams Fauntleroy, retired to Lovell in 1990.
She was best known for her love of the Lord, love for her family and the love she showed to the many friends she made. She was a generous person and one with great empathy for others. She was a member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Conway, where she served on the Altar Guild and the Ladies Guild.
Family members include her husband of 46 years, Philip, of Lovell; two daughters, Claire McDuffee, of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., and Suzanne Harter, of St. Peters, Mo.; two sons, Thomas Taylor Fauntleroy, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and William Battle Fauntleroy, of Wilmette, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Twining Taylor, of Camano Island, Wash.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Conway, with the Rev. Angelo D'Onofrio, rector, officiating. Burial of her ashes in the church Memorial Garden will follow. Afterwards, a reception will be held in the church undercroft by the Ladies Guild.
Arrangements are by the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Margaret's Anglican Church, P.O. Box 1555, Conway, NH 03818.

Dorothy M. Willey
CONWAY - Dorothy M. Willey, 87, of North Conway, died April 9, 2000, in Clearwater, Fla., after a brief a brief illness.
She was born Brownfield, Maine, on Sept. 12, 1912, to Walter and Blanche (Dennett) Mason.
The family includes a son, Bruce A. Willey of Riverside, Conn.; a daughter, Susan M. Johnson of Orleans, Mass.; and three grandchildren, John M. Willey and Elizabeth Ann Willey, both of Washington, D.C., and Bradford Staples of Boston, Mass.
Her husband, Herbert C. Willey, predeceased her in 1998.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Church of Christ Congregational on North Conway with the Rev. William P. Gardener officiating. Burial will be in the North Conway Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Donations may be sent to the Gibson Center for Senior Services, PO Box 655, North Conway 03860.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.

Zelma (Nutter) Thurston
EFFINGHAM - Zelma (Nutter) Thurston, 98, of Effingham Falls, died April 6, 2000, at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
She was born in Farmington, the daughter of Freeman J. and Lilla (Babb) Nutter, where she attended local schools and graduated from Farmington High School in 1919. She lived in Effingham since 1931.
She was a member of the Effingham Grange and the Pomona Grange as well as the State Grange. Mrs. Thurston was also a member of the Calvin Topliff Chapter No. 15, O.E.S., Freedom. She had worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper at Mooney's Woodturning Mill for several years and later served the town of Effingham as tax collector for 20 years. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Effingham Falls.
Mrs. Thurston was pre-deceased by her husband, Clifton M. Thurston, of Effingham, in 1981.
She is survived by her son, Lyle Thurston, and his wife, Joy, of Effingham; four grandchildren, Scott, Bryan, Wayne and John Thurston; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Nutter, of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Effingham Falls Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Effingham Falls Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Effingham Rescue Squad, Effingham, NH; the Ossipee Meals on Wheels Program, c/o Ossipee Crossing, Center Ossipee, NH 03814; or the Visiting Nurses Association of Wolfeboro, P.O. Box 1620, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
Lord Funeral Home on Moultonville Road is in charge of arrangements.

Leona Alice (Woodman) Clark
TAMWORTH - Leona Alice (Woodman) Clark, 83, of Byrant Mill Road in Tamworth, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
Born Dec. 17, 1916, in Eastport, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Faye (Saunders) Woodman.
She had lived in Tamworth for the past eight years, moving there from Cambridge, Mass.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the South Tamworth United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Palastine Chapter No. 114 in Newtonville, Mass.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Hazen Clark, of Tamworth; a son, Kenneth W. Clark, of Sandwich; a daughter, Phyllis Whiting, of South Tamworth; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Ronald Woodman, and a sister, Pauline Blake.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Route 16 in West Ossipee. Rev. Murray Nickerman will hold a prayer service at 8 p.m.
A memorial service will be at the South Tamworth United Methodist Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Tamworth United Methodist Church.
The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Route 16 in West Ossipee is in charge of arrangements.
