Blanche (Templeton) Nickerson, 82, of Center Ossipee, died April 22, 2001, at Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, after a period of failing health.
She was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Ossipee, daughter of the late Ahiel and Arthena (Eldridge) Templeton.
A native of Ossipee, Blanche enjoyed spending summers at her camp in Freedom on Ossipee Lake, with her late husband of 52 years, Wendell A. Nickerson. Mrs. Nickerson had operated the concession stand at Mount Whittier Ski Area for many years. She also worked as a waitress at Hearth 'n' Pine Restaurant, Ossipee, for several years, as well as working at the White Lake State Park in Tamworth.
During her more recent years she had worked for the Carroll County Home Health Care. She was a graduate of the Ossipee High School and she attended the Ossipee Valley Bible Church in West Ossipee.
Mrs. Nickerson was extremely fond of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a son, David W. Nickerson of Kennesaw, Ga.; a daughter, Judith W. LaBranche of Tuftonboro; her grandchildren, Deborah W. Eldridge of West Ossipee and Corey D. Nickerson of Kennesaw, Ga., as well as three great-granddaughters. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Stephen W. Bean, Maria McDonough and Rommy M. LaBranche.
Mrs. Nickerson was predeceased by her grandson, W. Timothy Williams, and three brothers Haven, Ralph and Arthur Templeton.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ossipee Valley Bible Church, West Ossipee, with Rev. John Aron, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Nickerson had asked that her close friends, Thomas Hobbs, of Center Ossipee, and Earl T. Merrow Jr. serve as honorary pallbearers during the funeral services. Burial will follow the services in the Townhouse Cemetery in Tuftonboro.

FRYEBURG - George Dexter Charles, 65, of Route 113 in North Fryeburg, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at his home.
He was born in North Chatham, the son of Dean and Evangeline Dyer Charles, and was educated in Chatham and Fryeburg schools. He worked 13 years for Continental Telephone Company and 12 years for Ceramco Inc., in Center Conway. He was a member of the Fryeburg Lions and attended First Assembly of God Church in Fryeburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and blackberry picking.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Arlene Sylvester Charles, two sons, Mark and Jonathan, and one daughter, Lois Scott, all of North Fryeburg; five sisters, Anita Buswell and Doris Ela, both of Fryeburg, Sadie Day of Ossipee, Ruth Dyer of Abbott Village, and Norma Diperro of South Portland; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Stephen, in 1985, and also by two brothers and three sisters.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 12 Warren Street, Fryeburg. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church on Drift Road in Fryeburg, with the Pastor Donald Maranville officiating. Burial will be later in Riverside Cemetery, North Fryeburg.

CONWAY - Juliette M. Lessard, 81, of Conway, died April 21, 2001, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway after a long illness.
Born in Berlin, the daughter of Onesiphore and Fabiola (Chretien) Bisson, she had lived in Conway for over 60 years.
Mrs. Lessard graduated from St. Regis School in Berlin. She had worked in the Conway Cafe Bakery in Conway in the 1950s and '60s, and in the 1970s she was a dispatcher at the Gibson Center for Senior Services in North Conway.
The family includes two daughters, Janet M. Anthony, of Conway, and Yvette A. Holly, of Mondamin, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lynn Parkhurst, of Conway, Sarah Anthony, of Bedford, Karen Holly and Laura Holly, both of Mondamin, Iowa, and Douglas Bisson, of Goffstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Aime J. Lessard, predeceased her in 1988.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Mountains Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today (Monday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

Loretta F. Robertson, 82, of Intervale, died April 17, 2001, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a brief illness.
Born in Marlborough, Mass., daughter of John and Ellen (Webber) Boland, she had lived in Intervale for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Robertson graduated from St. Michael's Academy in Hudson, Mass., in 1936, and received her RN from Symnes Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Mass., in 1939.
She had been a registered nurse doing private duty for over 35 years.
The family includes her husband of 58 years, James L. Robertson of Intervale; two sisters, Claire Taylor of Intervale and Doris Finegan of Quincy, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in the Bartlett Village Cemetery later in the spring. There will be no visiting hours. The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
CENTER LOVELL - Earle Richmond Sage, 87, of North Lovell Road, died April 20, 2001, at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Tyner, N.Y., the son of John and Ethel Richmond Sage. He graduated from Norwich Academy with honors and was given a full scholarship to Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He started an electronics plant, Sage-Craft, working with many large corporations. He worked with IBM on a part for the first successful guided missile, "The Side Winder."
He 1972 he moved to St. Michaels, Md., as project engineer for a new golf community on the Chesapeake Bay. After this project, he designed and built many beautiful homes in the area. He was also instrumental in designing and launching another building project in Tilghman Island, Md.
In 1993, he and his wife moved to Center Lovell to help his daughter and son-in-law run the Center Lovell Inn.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Harriett Sprague Sage, of Lovell; one son, Timothy Sage, of Stevensville, Md.; one daughter, Janice Cox, of Lovell; and one granddaughter, Lindsey Sage.
Mr. Sage will be buried in Norwich, N.Y., where a service will be held later.
Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home of Fryeburg.
Suemargaret Baab Lepis, 78, of Lavallette, N.J., died Monday, April 9 in Toms River, N.J. Sue was a special education teacher for the Hackensack school system for many years, retiring 15 years ago. She received a bachelor's degree in primary education from Trenton State Teacher's College and a master's degree in special education from William Paterson College. She was a communicant of St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Lavallette, and a member of the Book & Needle Club, Oradell, N.J. Born in Hackensack, N.J., she lived in Oradell before moving to Lavallette 10 years ago. she was a summer resident of Lavallette since 1941.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, James Sr.; two sons, James Jr. of Oradell, and Bill Lepis of Bartlett, N.H.; two daughters, Suzanne McLaughlin of Lavallette and Judy Jodice of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 12 in Lavallette, N.J.
Priscilla H. Hill, 71, of Silver Lake died April 19, 2001, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a long illness. Born in Meredith, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred (Harris) Hood, she lived in Berlin for three years before moving to the Mount Washington Valley in 1951.
Mrs. Hill graduated from Meredith High School.
She, along with her first husband, Norman H. Labnon, owned and operated the former White Horse Dairy Bar and Norman's Variety, both in North Conway. They also owned and operated the former Labnon's Department Store and The Men's Shop, both in Conway.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a member of AARP, and had been active with the Conway Bicentennial Celebration in 1965.
The family includes: a daughter, Rebecca A. Lyman of Silver Lake; a son, Michael S. Labnon of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, Scott W. Lyman and Megan L. Lyman, both of Silver Lake, who were the highlight of her life; two brothers, Dr. Richard F. Hood of Laconia, and Herbert S. Hood of Leroy, Kansas; a sister, Nancy Morrill of Meredith; her mother, Mildred Hood of Meredith; and several nieces and nephews.
Her second husband, J. Warren Hill, predeceased her in 1996.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Church in Madison with the Rev. Sean Dunker-Bendigo, pastor, officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Christine Mae Flood, 79, of Harrison, Maine died unexpectedly Friday, April 20, 2001 at the Bridgton Hospital. She was born in Lubec, Maine June 9, 1921 the daughter of John and Emily Mulholland Harvey and graduated from Woodland High School. She lived in Fryeburg for many years where she was a Brownie Scout Leader and also supervised the Canal Bridge Camping Area. She played piano for Hal Lone Pine and his Mountaineers, and for all the parties in the area.
She moved to Harrison, Maine 15 years ago. Christine was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arnold F. Flood of Harrison, Maine; daughters Judy Boutilier and husband Ronald of West Paris, Maine and Joan Hollis of Winsted, Conn.; three grandchildren, Melanie Farrington and husband Tom of Lovell, Maine, Jarrett Baker and wife Cheryl of North Fryeburg, Maine, and Trina Starzyk of Electra, Texas; great-grandchildren Kimberly Farrington, and Sarah and Lindsey Baker. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 12 Warren Street, Fryeburg where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Rolfe Flood officiating. Burial will be later in Harrison, Maine. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Patricia R. Marden, 57, of Conway, died April 17, 2001 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine following a sudden illness. Born in Canton, Maine the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Lovely) Crocker, she lived in Austin, Texas for eight years and in Colorado Springs, Colo. for two years before moving to Conway in 1980.
Mrs. Marden had worked at Linderhof Inn in Glen for six years and at the Sheraton Hotel in North Conway for ten years. Recently, she had been employed at the former K-Mart in North Conway for four years and at Ames Department Store since last fall.
The family includes: her husband of 14 years, Harold L. Marden Jr. of Conway; two sons, Gene Granger and Earl Granger, both of Austin, Texas; a stepson, Harold L. Marden III of Franklin; two brothers, Kenneth D. Crocker of Manchester and Robert Crocker of North Fryeburg, Maine; three sisters, Betty Edwards of Conway, Glenice Bean of West Paris, Maine and Nancy Benedetto of Livermore Falls, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Eugene Crocker in 1969 and her siblings, Roberta Crocker in 1941, Donna Small in 1995 and Gordon Severy in 2000.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway with Roger Robbins officiating. Visiting hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James L. Nixon, age 44, formerly of Tamworth, died April 15, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Wyoming.
He was a 1975 graduate of Kennett High School. After graduation he had moved to Big Piney, Wyo., where he has lived for the past 25 years and was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish.
He is survived by his mother, B. Laurie Nixon of Tamworth; a brother, Dean W. Nixon of Loudon; three sisters, Marilyn Prive of Effingham, Florence Dicey of Tamworth, and Edie Nixon of Center Sandwich; three nieces and three nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; and grand nieces and grand nephews.
He was also predeceased by his father, William D. Nixon.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date.
Sharon L. (Snow) West, 54, of North Woodstock died April 16, 2001, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Springfield, Vt., the daughter of Duane and Helen (Rachiski) Snow. She was a graduate of Nashua High School. Mrs. West resided many years in North Woodstock. She worked as a waitress in several area restaurants. Mrs. West was a member of the Woodstock Fire Department's women's auxiliary. She served as a Girl Scout leader and a leader of the Woodstock Cub Scouts, and she was also a leader of the Woodstock 4H Club. She was a member of the Pemi Valley Church and served as Sunday School teacher. She loved children.
Family members include her husband of 35 years, Jerold West of North Woodstock; two daughters, Kimberlee Zalla of North Woodstock and Kelley Pequeno of Bath; a son, Chester M. West of North Woodstock; three grandchildren; five sisters, Roseanne Dingee of Rochester, Arlene Smith of Manchester, Kari Bragdon of Forest Park, Ga., Cindy Collard of Greenfield, and Kathy Main of Waldorf, Md.; a brother, Gary Snow of Farmington, Maine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock. A graveside service will be held in Kezar Falls, Maine, at a later date.
