Robert Ouellette

LACONIA - Robert James Ouellette, 75, of 190 School St., Lakeport, died Friday, June 11, 2004, from a stroke at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

In his final hours Mr. Ouellette was surrounded by all of his nine children.

He was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Laconia, the son of Oscar J. and Irene (O'Mara) Ouellette of Lakeport.

Mr. Ouellette served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a member of the Wilkins-Smith American Legion Post 1 in Laconia.

He was a welder and fabricator and worked at Tekwood in Lakeport and Bergen-Paterson prior to his retirement.

Some of his interests were gardening, ice-fishing with his family and hunting trips with relatives in Quebec. He was a dog lover.

Survivors include his nine children, Deborah Andriski and her husband Michael of Laconia, Dennis and Gale of Laconia, Denise Novak and husband James of Thornton, Darlene Bolduc and husband Gary of Belmont, Dan and Amanda of Laconia, Dianne of Laconia, Doreen and husband Steve of Holderness, Dave and wife Tammy of Laconia, and Don (a Navy chief petty officer) and Terri of Virginia Beach, Va.; 17 grandchildren, Chris, Jon, Mike, Kristina, Robbie, Lee-Ann, Missy, Greg, Kathryn, Nickole, Gerred, Brad, Conner, Jillian, Jonathan, Andrew, Stephanie; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Tianna, Darren, Kaley, Andrea and Riley; a brother, Oscar and wife June of Lusby, Md.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Of Mr. Ouellette his family wrote, "Bob was an amazing man and will be sadly missed and loved by all!!"

Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 13, 2004, 5-8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.

A graveside service will be held Monday June 14, 2004, at 1 p.m. at St. Lambert Cemetery, Province Street, Laconia.

The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements. .

Nancy L. Young

SANBORNTON - Nancy L. (Hawkins) Young, 61, of 860 Stage Road, died Wednesday June 9, 2004 at her home.

Mrs. Young was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Laconia, the daughter of Ruth Isabelle and George Hawkins Sr.

She was raised in Laconia and attended Laconia High School and graduated from Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth, in 1960 and still had lasting friendships with many classmates.

Mrs. Young was employed in Portsmouth for the C&L Construction Co. Forty-three years ago she married William H. Young in the Pease Air Force Base Chapel..

They lived in Michigan for a number of years, moving back to New Hampshire in 1973, settling in Laconia before moving to Sanbornton. She was employed at the Laconia Shoe Co. for many years and later was employed at Henry's Dry Cleaners.

A woman of countless talents, Nancy excelled in all she endeavored. She was a seamstress, crafter and could be found at many craft shows.

Survivors include her husband, of Sanbornton; two daughters, Holly Young of Franklin and Joy and her husband Kelly Brough of Gilmanton Iron Works; her mother Ruth Sanborn of Rye, her father George Hawkins Sr. of Laconia; a half brother, George Hawkins Jr. of Laconia; four half sisters, Donna Thrippleton of Alton, Cathy Hammare of Ashland, Robin Hendrickx of Laconia and Susan Record of Rye; a stepbrother, Harry Sanborn; many nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held Monday June 14, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia using the Carriage House entrance. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Greater White Mountain Chapter, American Red Cross, 21 Lyford St., Laconia NH 03246.

Robert W. Gauthier

SANBORNTON - Robert W. Gauthier Sr., 72, of Sanborn Road, died June 11, 2004, at his home.

He was born in Boston on March 26, 1932, the son of Albert and Elma (Buldini) Gauthier.

Mr. Gauthier was raised in Somerville, Mass., where he lived until entering the military in 1948. He served with the Army until 1949 and then with the Air Force from 1950 to 1952.

He first became a resident of Sanbornton 45 years ago, but returned to Boston for five years. Mr. Gauthier had lived in Sanbornton since 1974.

He was employed at the Lexington, Mass., Post Office several years ago. He owned and operated Bob’s Floor Service in Tilton for 25 years.

Mr. Gauthier was a life member of AMVETS Post 4 of Somerville, Mass., and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 11868 in Tilton and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Tilton.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rosemary (Cooney) Gauthier of Sanbornton; two sons, Robert W. Gauthier Jr. of Northfield and Michael J. Gauthier of Hill; a daughter, Rorri Saint John of Seminole, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Gauthier of Weymouth, Mass.; nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 13, 2004, from 4-8 p.m. at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 14, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Chestnut St., Tilton. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Tilton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Gauthier may be made to AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Dept. of Mass. Hospital Fund, c/o Valerie Davitt, executive secretary, 34 Berry St., Framingham, Mass., 01720 or to The Assumption Church Scholarship Fund, 16 Chestnut St., Tilton NH 03276.

Sandra Burby

SOUTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Services will be held Sunday for Sandra Ellsworth Burby, 54, of O’Brien Street, who died May 16, 2004, at Medical University South Carolina after transplant surgery.

She was born in Laconia, the daughter of Leon L. Ellsworth and the late Lorraine Lacroix Duval. She grew up in the Belmont area and attended Belmont schools. She moved to South Charleston in 1986.

She loved her pets Frisky and Harley and loved visiting with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Fred Burby of South Charleston; one son, Bradley Burby of Belmont, N.H.; a stepson, Charles Cheney of Laconia, N.H., one daughter, Brenda Beattie, of North Conway, N.H.; her father, Leon Ellsworth; four sisters, Stacky Nile of Warren, R.I., Lisa Ellsworth of Belmont, N.H., Linda Place of Gilmanton, N.H., Karen Kimball of Belmont, N.H.; two brothers, Dwight Ellsworth of Belmont, N.H., Leon Ellsworth of Gilmanton, N.H.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 13, at noon at 363 Depot Street in Belmont, N.H.

Robert Polasko

BEACON FALLS, Conn. - Robert J. Polasko, 66, of Stoddard Place in Beacon Falls, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at home after a long illness.

He was the husband of Jean (Martin) Polasko.

Mr. Polasko was born in Dec. 14, 1937, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of the late John and Amelia (Novak) Polasko. He graduated from Warren Harding High School and was a retired Marine Corps staff sergeant, who served in the Marines for 20 years, including during the Vietnam War.

After retiring from the military, he worked for many years as a quality control supervisor for Romatic Manufacturing.

Mr. Polasko was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church in Prospect.

Survivors include three sons; John Polasko of Manchester, N.H., Robert Polasko and Donald Polasko, both of Franklin, N.H.; a daughter, Jennifer Polasko of Beacon Falls; five grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Newlan of Milford and Shirley Ann Narduzzo of West Haven.

Funeral services will full military honors for Mr. Polasko will be held on Monday, June 14, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Casey-O’Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St., Waterbury, Conn., with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church in Prospect. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Family and friends nay visit the funeral home on Sunday, June 13, 2004, from 6-8 p.m.

Donald J. Dussault

MEREDITH - Donald J. Dussault, 71, of 54 Veasey Shore Road, and a winter resident of North Port, Fla., died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.

Mr. Dussault was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Quincy, Mass., the son of Eugene and Mary (MacIsaac) Dussault.

He lived most of his life in Concord before moving to Meredith 10 years ago.

Mr. Dussault graduated from Concord High School in 1950 and served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was the owner of Merrimack Sheet Metal Inc. in Concord.

He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Concord Lodge of Elks 1210 and was very active in community and business affairs in the Concord area.

Mr. Dussault enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and tennis. He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church in Meredith.

Survivors include his wife, Sally (Little) Dussault, of Meredith, and North Port, Fla.; three sons, Dennis A. Dussault of St. Thomas, U. S. Virgin Islands, Scott J. Dussault of Boscawen, James E. Dussault of Pembroke; three daughters, Debra J. Winters of Helena, Mont., Pamela R. Dussault of Hood River, Ore., and Cathy M. Gesel of Brasher Falls, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Richard Dussault of Merrimack; one sister, Muriel Couture of Marshfield, Mass.; many nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Dussault.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Rte 25, Meredith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.

Florence E. Chaisson

ASHLAND - Florence E. Chaisson died July 30, 2004, at her home after a long illness.

She was born June 22, 1924, in Ashland, the daughter of Colby Lyford and Irene (Cote) Lyford.

Mrs. Chaisson graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1942. She attended Keene State College. She was a teacher at St. Mary’s School in Franklin for many years.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Dupuis Cross Post 15 American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Aurol, of Ashland; two brothers, Norman Layford and Ralph Lyford, both of Ashland; three sisters. Thelma McCormack and Janet Stewart, both of Ashland, and Gloria Glidden of Campton; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dupuis Funeral Home Monday, Aug. 2, from 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Green Grove Cemetery.
