Daniel Skinner
Owned painting business
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Daniel E. Skinner, 43, formerly of Billerica, Mass., died Sept. 21, 2003.
He was born in Brighton, Mass., and had lived in Billerica, Mass., until entering the Army March 7, 1977. He was sent to Korea with the 194th Maintenance Battalion.
He moved to Milford, N.H., where he owned a painting business for six years.
He spent many happy summers in Wolfeboro, at the Moore Family farm on Pleasant Valley Road.
Family members include his mother, Elizabeth A. (Moore) Vandal and stepfather, Richard A. Vandal, in Florida; two brothers, Michael and Wayne of Manchester; a sister, Brenda, of Duvall, Wash.; and several nieces. He leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Skinner, and his brother, David A. Skinner.
Services will be held at First Congregational Church, Wolfeboro, Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be sent in his name to Nashua Children’s Association, 125 Amherst St., Nashua, NH 03064, telephone 883-3851.
Babine and Stephenson Funeral Home, Pompano Beach, assisted the family with arrangements.

Waneta Wilkinson
Homemaker and mother
SANBORNVILLE - Waneta V. Wilkinson, 84, formerly of Forest Avenue in Sanbornville, died Tuesday evening Sept. 23, 2003 at Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee.
She was born Dec. 28, 1918 in Ossipee, daughter of William and Martha (Wilfert) Karcher. She resided in Sanbornville for many years, having come from Effingham.
A homemaker and mother, she was the widow of Kenneth A. Wilkinson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sanbornville.
Family members include three sons, Kenneth A. Wilkinson, II of Ossipee, Charles R. Wilkinson of Keene and James M. Wilkinson of Wakefield; two daughters, Lorene V. Smith of Milton and June F. Allen of Richmond, Vt.; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; three sisters: Almira “Miney” Tufts, Christine Lessard and Martha Holmes and one brother, Charles Karcher, all of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, George, a brother, William Karcher, Jr., and seven sisters, Lida Wilkinson, Winona Ouellette, Lano Karcher, Julia Laprise, Nellie Robinson, Harriette Glennon and Addie MacKay.
Calling hours were held at Peaslee Funeral Home in Sanbornville. A funeral service was held Sept 26, at the funeral home.
Burial will be Friday, Oct. 3, at Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville at 3 p.m.

Helen Wright
Campground founder
CENTER OSSIPEE - Helen C. Wright, 81, of Dan Hole Pond Road, died Sept. 28, 2003, at the Daniel’s House in Reading, Mass.
She was born May 14, 1922, in Lynn, Mass., daughter of Frank and Mary (Mahoney) Cirafice. She had lived in Nahant, Mass., for many years, spending summers in Center Ossipee.
In 1961 she and her husband became founders of Terrace Pines Campground in Center Ossipee, a campground still owned by her son, Mark.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Center Ossipee and also belonged to the NH Campground Owners Association.
Family members include her sons, Mark E. Wright, and his wife, Jane, of Center Ossipee, and Scott F. Wright and his wife, Patricia, of Reading, Mass.; and three granddaughters and a grandson.
There were no calling hours. Services are Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading, Mass. Burial will be at Grant Hill Cemetery, Center Ossipee.
Memorial donations may be made to Merrimac Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimac St., Building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
Lord Funeral Home, Center Ossipee, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maxine Beeder
Retired clerk/typist
SANBORNVILLE - Maxie (Page) Beeder, 93, formerly of Brackett Road in Sanbornville, died Wednesday evening Feb. 4, 2004 at Mountain View Nursing in Ossipee.
She was born July 12, 1910 in W. Newfields, Maine, of George and Lizzie (Hamilton) Page. She had resided in Portsmouth for most of her life.
She retired in 1971 from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where she was employed as a clerk/typist in the Industrial Relations Office, for 20 years.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
The widow of William H. Beeder, who died in 1994, she is survived by two sons and their wives, William P. and Cindy Beeder of Sanbornville, and Wayne A. and Karen Beeder of Avon, Conn.; a granddaughter; and a great grandson.
She was sister of the late Josephine Smith and Carrie Page.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Feb. 11 at St. Anthony’s Church in Sanbornville, with Fr. Edmund A. Babicz, pastor, as celebrant. There were no calling hours. Burial will be in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorial donations may be made to Mark H. Wentworth Home 246 Pleasant St. Portsmouth, NH 03801 or to Mountain View Nursing Home 10 County Farm Road Ossipee, NH 03864.
Arrangements are in the care of Peaslee Funeral Home in Sanbornville.

Joseph Casoni
Veteran, retired truck driver
WOLFEBORO - Joseph Louis Casoni, 88, of Rolling Wood Drive, died Feb. 8, 2004, in Plantation, Fla.
He was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Whitman, Mass., son of Fabrisio and Louisa (Balboni) Casoni. He had lived in Brockton, Mass., for many years before moving to Wolfeboro four years ago.
During World War II, he served his country as a member of the Military Police in the U.S. Army.
He worked for many years as a truck driver for Cape Cod Overland Express.
In Brockton, Mr. Casoni was a member of the local Teamsters Union and Porter Congregational Church. Here in New Hampshire, he attended Alton Community Church.
He was the widower of June E. (Anderson) Casoni, who died in 2003.
Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Jean Casoni of Hampton, Conn., Robert and Sally Casoni of Alton and Ronald and Lynn Casoni of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Aleramo “Skiddy” and Jenny Casoni of Whitman, Mass.; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 9 a.m. at Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, 85 Mill St., Wolfeboro. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Charles H. Fox
Collector of antique radios
CANTERBURY - Charles H. Fox, 74, died Feb. 3, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Portsmouth, and was the son of Arthur and Sarah Fox, who were officers in the Salvation Army.
He grew up in Newark, N.J. and attended Barringer High School, where he played football and was selected to the All-City team.
During the Korean War, Mr. Fox enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in London at the US Embassy. He traveled widely throughout Europe and North Africa on a Vespa motor scooter.
He met his wife, Carolyn, on a transatlantic cruise from New York to Europe. They settled for a time in Spain on the island of Ibiza. They eventually moved to Canterbury, where Mr. Fox established and operated Olde House Smoke House.
An avid collector of antique radios, he founded the Olde House Antique Radio Museum and was a member of the New England Antique Radio Club.
He was the widower of Carolyn Fox and also survives two brothers.
Family members include his brother, Edward of Florida; his sister, Judith of Tennessee; his daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Rodney O’Brien of Canterbury and Katja Fox and Tom Zotti of Wolfeboro; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Sarah of Canterbury; and three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 58 Clinton Street, Concord, NH 03301.

John A. Hall, Jr.
Enjoyed gardening, tree farming
TUFTONBORO - John A. Hall, Jr., 85, of Tuftonboro, died Feb. 3, 2004 at Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, where he had been a resident since December of 1999.
He was born Nov. 20, 1918 in Milton, son of John A. Hall and Laura E. Willey. He grew up on the family farm on Branch Hill in Milton and graduated from Nute High School in 1936.
He married Marion Adena (Libby) Hall of West Newfield, Maine on Aug. 10, 1940, and the couple lived in Lynnfield, Mass.
He worked for the General Electric Company in Lynn, as a machinist, retiring in 1979 after 41 years to a home he built in Tuftonboro, where he grew vegetables and managed his tree farm.
Family members include three sons, John A. Hall of East Montpelier, Vt., James S. Hall of Gloucester, Mass., and Gary J. Hall of Lynnfield, Mass.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a nephew, Donald Stowell, and niece, Theresa Davidson, both of Rochester.
He was the widower of Marion Hall and brother of the late Mary J. Stowell of Rochester.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville.
